Maybe we see a Dionte Spencer..or Jordan Williams Lambert signing here...Rider's are pretty sure he would bo right back there...but I have my doubts on that

JWL is an odd situation contract wise

Because he appealed - had signed just before the out clause was reinstated- ( I'm using incorrect terms, I know )

League and team released him from final year of contract for NFL opportunity,  but Riders retained his CFL rights

I don't fully understand it, but pretty sure that the gist is correct

CFL games didn't make it onto local TV if they were sold out 40 years ago or not.

We were rural Sask - outside the ?75? Mile radius dubbed local - could get from yorkton or a clear night from Brandon

And I guess it was closer to 30 than 40 yrs -

Mid 80's was when they had the 90% sellout rule for lifting blackout

  3. Lutherselbo, Do or Die, Lyin'Guy, Stan Peters

Those are a few of the posters of RF I try to emulate- fans from other teams being proper guests

Just here to talk football- preferably the 3 down kind- are their times I type and want to talk trash back?, oh yah,  but I remember I am in your house , so hit delete not send

As I've said before - these sites are more alike than I think some want to admit- and that's ok

40+ yrs ago I probably watched more Bomber games - saw more of Dieter,  House, Poplawski et al because of the stupid blackout rules,  and Taylor Field never "selling out" because they   could always fit one more ass ( there's your hanging curveball- flame away) onto hemorrhoid hill, so Rider home games never made it to TV

They say the fire burns green there.

There were times in the nineties that Taylor Field felt like perdition

( btw that quote is a song by The Dead South) YouTube that song if you want a catchy tune

I get why people are disappointed, I get why other fans and players will take their shots.

It is easier to turn your back on the guy, I would rather accept the fact he made a mistake and have his back.

I don't get the shots -  AH plays a brutal sport to entertain fans - does it well, and puts his heart into it ,

If you are close to the situation and have knowledge of exact details - ( and those who would be in this situation are supporting him I will add) then only speak up if the truth is being hidden and lies told

If you are like the rest of us -  something about glass houses and throwing stones comes to mind ( looking straight at you J Reaves )

Hard to say...but it is going to have to be a total 3 phase team effort..but we have capable RB's in house to pick up the slack..no Harris by any means..but a big unknown..could be lethal..could be a dud

Agree on it being low scoring for sure

Also..should we/I attack you as a troll...toss out rude comments...etc..etc..like over on your site?..seems like he thing to do..no?..whats your username there...or should we determine through IP adress ;)

Feel free to do as you wish,

I set up this account thinking I'd post a couple things and then vanish into the green mist, so used a different handle, since at the time there was a fair bit of vitriol being passed between the bases however , I've learned that the two sites are actually not that different

The vast majority of posters are knowledgeable CFL fans who happen to cheer harder for one team  , and I have a lot to learn from their history and experience,  and I enjoy their posts,  and have kept doing some limited posting

Both sites have some residents that post on the extreme , and some posters who see the world only in binary form and seem to carry a lot of anger and bitterness in their soul-

But yes- if I , as a Rider fan , come to a Bomber site and talk s##t,  I should be called out

I give props to those who use one handle on both sites

And to make it official, I post as VoR on riderfans, and if your Mod can change my name to that, I'd be good with it

pffft...Sask needs to score against us and I dont see them putting up more than 16-18 offensive points...Harris out hurts...but this is where depth takes over

Your D is probably good for 10 to 14 pts directly or close to it,  with Medlock and your ST's   adding in their points

It will still come down to us having to get 21+ pts with our O or ST ,

Next two weeks won't be high scoring,  but should be entertaining

  8. Harris missing the next two games for pretty much any other reason, and I'm ecstatic.

This, however,  sucks on every level for everyone involved

I wish I could hope for a lab error or something,  but these things usually have so many quality controls in place to avoid false positives,  that's why it takes two months to announce

Many people, myself included, find special teams weird. Saskatchewan has both benefited from, and been the victim of, special teams play this year:

    The good:
    - Lead the league with best kickoff return average (31.5 yards per return, MTL is worst with 18.1, OTT is 5th with 24.2)
    - Lead the league for fewest yards allowed per kickoff return (17.6 yards per return, TOR is worst 27.6, WPG is 5th 23.3)
    - Lead the league in punting average (49.0 yards per punt, TOR is worst 41.5 yards per punt, MTL is 5th 44.5 yards/punt)

The bad: SSK is dead last in several special teams categories (per CFL.ca, up to week 10):
    - They are ranked 8th in punt return average per return (9.0 yards per return, WPG is best at 13.0, OTT is 5th at 12.4 per return)
    - Tied with BC and CGY for most kick return TDs given up (4)
    - They give up a league-worst 18.3 yards on average per opponents kick return (WPG is best 8.3 yards/return, TOR is 5th at 10.8 yards/return)
    - They have the worst kickoff average (57.6, MTL is best with 69.4, TOR is 5th 63.3 yards/kickoff)

Surprisingly, SSK is actually second-fewest in special teams penalties (16) behind only WPG (14)

Personally, I think just like this past weekend, there will be one or two crucial plays or lapses in judgement (resulting in penalties) that dictate the outcome of the game. Should be a good one.

If it comes down to special teams, I do not like our chances

Harris won as many Grey Cups as Cornish, more rushing yards, more receptions, more receiving yards, more touchdowns and more yards from scrimmage and **** Cahoon who was a fake Canadian.

comparing players never easy, especially from different times,

however, I ask myself two questions-

first- in their prime, who would I have wanted on my team in a Grey Cup, single game, winner take all

and second, who would I want to build a team around for longer term

While Cornish was a great player, I'd take Harris over him in both cases

and yes, Cahoon should not be on the list at all

Harris is the #1 skill player born north of the 49th.

Definitely, they cut him in favour of Bridge.  Adams was also a F.A. for awhile before Hamilton signed him last season, so to be fair any team in the league could have picked him up if they wanted him.

technically, we traded him to Ticats for Charleston Hughes,

Hamilton ended up cutting him, he signed as FA with Als

regardless- STAMPS LOSE, and that makes it a good night

Sure,  other than we took a chance with a late 4th round pick,  not the 1st overall,

    And

New Orleans traded two picks to move up to draft him,  and he's still playing, even starting for them ( once he's done his weed related suspension) so earning an NFL game cheque would make most people less interested in the CFL

Josiah st John-  even though he did dress for a couple seasons - his interest in playing you can Question

  14. Overwhelming fear- we dont pressure Reilly early he has time to make even one bomb to Duron, which motivates DC to focus and use his talent, he has a monster game and there it is

First of these teams to get their mental game on wins

( or maybe the team that doesn't lose their mental s@@t first is the one not to lose

There's the pregame speech- don't suck as bad as them)
