2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
SpeedFlex27 replied to Wanna-B-Fanboy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The thing with Streveler is, if he signs with Ottawa then LaPo may keep him a gimmick qb doing what he's been doing the past 2 seasons. Perhaps Buck Pierce teaches him how to be a CFL qb. I have a feeling LaPo will do what's best for LaPo & he'll keep doing the same thing. -

So do I but he has to learn the passing game. That should be his priority. He has to learn to rely less on his legs & more on his arm. He'll be much more dangerous if defenses have to respect the fact he is a passer. He'll never be Dieter Brock or Ricky Ray but he can be very effective. As a pro qb this is his next logical step. -
His biggest signing was Nik Lewis. I did notice a bit of friction between Dunigan & Jim Barker but it was subtle last year when Barker was a part time panelist. Barker was fired a few days before Xmas 2003 by F Troop & replaced the next day by Dunigan. I think the news conference was Dec 23rd. Mark McLoughlin had been named Team Prez as soon as the season ended & called Barker into his office to supposedly talk about player personnel before shutting down for the Holidays. Instead, he was told he was fired & given just a few minutes to clear out his personal items. The sad part was he was going to the airport later in the day to pick up his mother who was flying in for Christmas with his family. McLoughlin was a snake. He was promoted from kicker to President by F Troop so Barker had been his Head Coach that season & then fires him 3 days before Xmas. He hired Dunigan & man, I remember the firestorm by angry fans & shocked media. Everyone felt sorry for Barker & how he was treated so close to Xmas & then to have the Dunigan presser the next day which meant Matty was already in town when Barker was fired. It was just so badly thought out, callous & bush league. McLoughlin never lasted with the Stamps. He was fired a few months later himself. The fans hated him & he has never really been a part of the Stamps alumni publicly ever since. He's one former player who is really invisible even though his name is on the Wall Of Fame at McMahon. I just got a sense that both Dunigan & Barker were cordial to each other on camera but that was it. Still some bad blood there & I could see it at times when they didn't agree.

Jefferson in Calgary? Streveler in Ottawa? Why would both Collaros & Arbuckle go to Toronto?? Both want to start & Collaros has no history with Dimnwiddie. Throw mud against a wall & some of it sticks.
-
That list is insane.

I'll say one thing about Dunigan. He was fired by the Stamps after one year in Calgary but he never on camera at least, held it against the team. I'm sure there were times when he wanted to give it to them but never has which is classy. Matty's a pro & carries himself that way.

I think you're way too sensitive about this. He's a Blue Bomber & not a Rider. All the receiving records he has. Blue & Gold. Everything.
-
Unfortunately, you're right. I watch it in bits & pieces now. I'll tune in the last 10 minutes to see what's going on.

Wrestling is becoming unwatchable to me now. More often than not, I just turn it off. The Corbin push for me is the last straw.
-
The guy works for TSN. He has to cater to all teams. His blood is blue & gold.
-
They can't even come back on us now since we won. They have 4. We have ELEVEN. They haven't won in 6 years.
-
I keep waiting for Ripper to show up but he's persona non grata.
-
Love the guy for that. 😉

Zontar came here & congratulated us on the GC win. He didn't have to do that but it was a classy thing to do. Plus he never talks much about the Ti Cats here, is respectful to our base & shares our hatred for the Riders. As far as I'm concerned, he's always welcome here.
-
Still are.

The only fan from Hamilton we have here is Zontar & he is okay. I'd rather have Zontar here than Skunk.
-
They moved him to guard. He played better inside. David Foucault.

You are rapidly wearing out your welcome here. But carry on. We know you will anyway.

I think you underestimate the popularity of Nichols in the locker room as well as him being a team leader.

They were rudderless because of Chamblin & Chapdelaine. The 2 supposed leaders who couldn't lead & it filtered down thru the assistant coaching ranks to the players. I have no idea if Ryan Dinwiddie can lead. The good ship Argo has so many leaks that duct tape won't solve the problem. Only a complete overhaul will do.

What about Franklin? One game the Argos were down something like 44-0 at halftime & he was smiling in his TSN interview like they were ahead.

Good for LaLama & Harris. More teams should be doing this.
