  1. He was OC when he was HC here so I'm sure he'll do the same in Ottawa.
  2. Damned fine sci fi writer. Her best may have been City On The Edge Of Forever on Star Trek: TOS.
  3. Collaros is a FA. No one would trade for him when they can just sign him. But apparently going to TO as a FA. Why he'd want to be part of that clown show is beyond me. I know his family is there but lots of players play away from home. His choice, I guess.
  4. Yes, but I think you know what I meant. We really didn't see the full extent of our offense until Collaros took control. He & Streveler were brilliant. Nichols play never seemed to reach the level we saw in the playoffs. The offense seemed to suit Zack's style of play to a tee.
  5. LaPo came under harsh criticism here by me & others on a daily basis but this playoff season when it counted he guided our offense brilliantly. He was a huge reason why we won the Grey Cup. As I criticized him then I can sure can give him credit where credit is due in winning our championship. I wish him well in Ottawa.
  6. I guess it depends if any of the coaches aren't under contract.
  7. the one thing career coaches do is move. It comes with the territory. So, he could leave. Not saying he will but he could.
  8. Just think it's going to be LaPo's system, his playbook & calls.
  9. I don't want a continuation of what we did under LaPo. I'd like a different approach. It really only worked for 4 games.
  10. Don't know if I like that.
  11. Your example of Tracy Ham is a good one & he was the qb I was thinking of when I posted. However, Ham could already throw the ball pretty well when he came to Edmonton. He became a very good passer as he relied less & less on his legs to get him out of trouble when the pocket broke down the longer he played.
  12. Two guys Mack drafted actually & we had daily reports on their whereabouts for 4 freaking years. Everytime they were released there was a frenzy. Yep, they're coming. They're coming!!! Sure. They did us all a favour by retiring as practice roster NFL players.
  13. His style of play though, Booch. It is so physical. He won't last a season let alone have a long career taking the shots he takes. It'll take him awhile to get to lights out you speak of & then the brights will fade to blue if he has injury issues. He has to decide the kind of qb he wants to be. To continue giving out & taking shots running the ball or learn to play the qb position behind the LOS where he finds open receivers downfield. Does he want to change? That will only happen if he internalizes & changes the way he thinks of himself as a player. He has to take the next step & work hard to achieve it. The other question, is LaPo the coach to do it for him? Working on his throwing fundamentals? Dickenson & Maas would be. Not sure about LaPo.
  14. We know what will happen if LaPo stays.
  15. Things haven't changed.
  16. We can pick a receiver. Just not one from Saskatchewan.
  17. Only if you have a good team already. If not, draft by need & what is available. Let's say we were 7-11 team but Harris was our running back & the CFL leading rusher. Let's say one of our problems was a porous OL. Now the best player available was a RB but there was also a potentially great right guard also available. What purpose would it serve to draft the RB even if he was the best player available? He'd be playing behind Harris & with the next selection the Riders would take the guard & we all know it.
  18. Not as a qb but an overall athlete. Being compared to Saints Taysom Hill.
  19. Ya hear he might be going to the NFL?
  20. You have no idea how I so wished I was there to have witnessed that!!!!
  21. Dinner in our house was over & done with Saturday nights by 6 pm because AWA wrestling was on TV. We had one television & no one dared to steal the TV from my Mom. She loved Gene Okerlund, Baron Von Rashke & hated Bobby Heenan with a passion! My mother took the belief to her grave that wrestling was real & not staged & you know what? I think that's great. She was born in 1912 & was a farm girl on an isolated farm in Western Manitoba . Only had a Grade 2 education & could barely read & write. She didn't have the skills to work except as a maid. She raised three kids (along with my dad, of course) & one of her real pleasures in life was watching wrestling so good on her for believing that. The wrestlers gave her pleasure & that's why those guys & gals in the ring do what they do.
  22. The little guy that wrestled Moxley last night I may have heard of. I found that match to be awkward. Not a lot of chemistry there. Missed or delayed spots & the timing just seemed off.
  23. My brother took my late mother (huge AWA fan) to the Arena when Heenan still managed Bockwinkel. They were sitting on chairs on the floor right beside the aisle the wrestlers come up to get to the ring. Bockwinkel & Heenan walked past them. My Mom got all worked up as she hated Heenan. She jumped out of her chair & ran up behind them yelling, "Weasel, Weasel" & hit Heenan on the back with her purse. Both turned around & went into character. Both shook their fists at her, yelled something at her, then turned around & continued to the ring. MY Mom returned to her seat beside my poor brother whose jaw had dropped to the floor. I'm sure the crowd thought it was a work as my Mom would have been early 70's at the time. The Little Old Lady gives Heenan ****. Security didn't even come down
