  1. An Albertan who grew up in Winnipeg. Sure. all we need is another welfare team propped up by the others just because Randy Ambrosie wants a team there. Every Commissioner since Jake Gaudaur wanted a team in the Maritimes & it never happened. Everything Ambrosie touches turns to lead.
  2. Bottom line is Maritimers could have a great thing going but they choose not to embrace it. We have friends in rural Nova Scotia. They make regular trips to see the New England Patriots. Their son & daughter in law live in Boston. They feel nothing for the CFL. That seems to be the way a lot of people feel out there.
  3. Well, if they want a team then they should have embraced this game. They didn't. Now the stadium issue is a problem. Time for the ownership group to walk away. Remember how fans in Winnipeg reacted when fans had to pony up for season tickets? There was absolutely no doubt that Winnipeg wanted the NHL back. The Maritimes can continue being the back water of Canada.
  4. Back then, late 60's....??? Namath, Tarkenton (Giants) Unitas, Meredith, Starr, Kapp, Gabriel, Hart, Brodie, Dawson. Those were the guys I liked watching on tv. We got one or 2 games a week up here back then on CBC TV. But not until after the Grey Cup was played.
  5. Giving a team to the Maritimes is a huge mistake. If they really wanted a team they'd have packed the park. They didn't. This whole thing is a joke. That's all the CFL needs is another team in constant financial crisis.
  6. Luck was booed off the field at halftime at Lucas Oil Stadium last night when word got out that he was retiring. Someone from the Colts organization (Irsay?) leaked the retirement to Jason La Canfora & he tweeted it immediately which Colts fans began learning about during the game. Angry Colts fans began taking off their Andrew Luck jerseys & started booing the guy. Luck was going to announce his retirement Sunday at a press conference in Indy but was forced to do it after the game. The man had an unfortunate series of injuries one right after the other & he just felt he couldn't go on with the pain anymore so he decided to retire. I never criticize an athlete for any decision he/she makes when it comes to injuries. They have a right to choose their own destiny & happiness in life so the booing last night was really sad.
  7. Which week? It's like a revolving door.
  8. For sports I love the Mountain Time Zone. The Ti Cat game starts at 8:10 pm. Most sporting events like football & hockey ends by 11 pm.
  9. Ottawa is just a bad football team.
  10. The 7-11 guy turns Raj's hatred of dumb white guys into a terrorist calling & he joins ISIS. Stealing his lunch & mocking him was the final straw.
  11. Don't know where else to put this buuut... https://www.nj.com/jets/2019/08/colts-andrew-luck-retires-in-all-time-nfl-stunner-why-is-he-calling-it-quits-now.html
  12. What time does the game start in Hamilton? Like 10 pm?
  13. Is this finally the end of the road for Davis? Gawd, I hope so. Million dollar body. Ten cent head.
  14. Option offenses don't really work in the pros like the CFL or NFL. Defensive players are quicker & much more disciplined than their college counterparts. So, it's harder to grind it out on the ground over an entire game running while giving up the pass. Also, late in games if a comeback is needed it isn't a quick strike offense like we saw with that 75 yard bomb Harris threw late in the game against us. If anything, the option will take time off the clock when offensive teams need every second. The other thing, it's a physical offense. Not just for the defense that has to face it but for the offense as well. I doubt a team could run a true option offense for an entire season against CFL defenses. There might not be many players left standing.
  15. Teams are generally a reflection of their HC as he sets the bar. Mt Maas always has an eruption on the sidelines. Nothing will change until he leaves. The guy is a real good OC but as a HC he leaves a lot to be desired. From his wacked behaviour on the sidelines to questionable strategy that costs his team wins.
  16. Davis is what we have always known. Has a brick between the ears.
  17. That's my worry as well. If defenses nullify his running ability & force him to throw the ball if he doesn't improve we're hooped.
  18. Yeah, I remember some fans used to complain about him. That he was boring. He was always prepared, though. He's missed.
  19. Our DL never gets the credit it deserves, it's always about Edmonton. Or the Riders. Or Ti Cats. About time TSN recognized what our Front 4 can do. Harris was harassed & harried. He had to throw the ball early before he wanted to. There were a ton of hurries last night.
  20. Riders are always tough at home on Labour Day Sunday. Their fans pump them up. We usually get the better of them in the Banjo Bowl. Our fans pump us up.
  21. He was on fire tonight. And to think a year ago we all hated him.
