From what I saw, he is struggling to adapt to the 3 down game. He has the talent, do we have the patience?

Sometimes a coach can show all the patience in the world but it doesn't make a difference. I think if you're an American qb, you either get it or you don't.

I believe @Mikesaid barriere had been on the neg list for some time so I’d imagine he might stick around. Be silly to cut him after 1 appearance when he’s been on the neg list for years.

I guess Buck will make that call. I can also see Barriere getting zero playing time next game as it's a prep for the CFL opener the week after. If anything, I see Streveleer getting more playing time along with Wilson. Osh may keep Zach out of the next game as well as he's done that in the past. Jf he does, then Barriere might play a bit more. I guess it all depends upon how the kid practices this week.

Hodge is, and always has been, terrible at what he does.  The fact he has a platform speaks more to the fact that there are so few quality guys out there covering the CFL than it does about his ability.

I’ve been saying this for years.

The guys that used to be beat writers for the Bombers in the media hey day of the 50's, 60's & 70's like Don Blanchard, Jack Matheson, Jack Wells, John Robertson, Maurice Smith & Reyn Davis never claimed to be football experts. They knew their way around the game from being at practice everyday as well as sitting in on the odd film session with the head coaches they covered over the years. They all had a couple of things in common. They knew their readers & listeners. They always asked the questions we fans wanted answers to. They weren't afraid to dig around &  write the stories that made certain GMs & Head Coaches squirm. Those days are long gone.

“Coach O’Shea, you turned around a club that had missed the playoffs in 5 of the previous 6 years and was an all-time worst 3-15 before your arrival. You’ve had 7 straight 10+win seasons in a row, an all-time club record, and 7 straight playoff appearances, and you’ve been coach of the year more than any other coach since you started 9 years ago. In that time your roster has featured 15 CFL award winners and 43 CFL all-stars, which is tops in the league. No team has won more in the last 7 years, and other than the Stanps, no team has won more since you started your head coaching gig. You coached the team to back-to-back Grey Cup victories. You’re the 4 time defending Western Division champions, something this league hasn’t seen in over 40 years. No other team has more playoff wins, Grey Cup appearances or Championships during your tenure. You are on track this season to become the all-time winningest coach in the club’s 93 year history.

It’s obvious that you are failing at putting out the most optimum roster to smugly satisfy a personal Canada-first agenda that is failing us competitively. Explain yourself! Asking on behalf of fans who know better”

Well, I go away for a day & I come back to this????

Who is the color guy on that broadcast?  Is it Mullinder?

That guy needs to get cut ASAP,   I'm only half way through watching the game and what he says on air does not represent what is happening on field at all.  The PBP guy is nearly as bad.

I'm at the part with 52 seconds left in the half where Pipkin runs out of bounds and runs into Jefferson and bounces off of him.   PBP guy says Pipkin was hammered by Jefferson and Mullinder is saying a penalty should be called.   Jefferson didn't lean into him and was standing upright the whole time with Pipkin just scraping by him and falls down on his own.

Also Mullinder at this point is extremely minimizing the errors of the Rider players almost making excuses or pretending that things didn't happen (i.e. great play by a Bomber or a big error on the Rider).      I.E.  Harris missing Bane by a mile and instead of saying how bad of a pass it was,  Mullinder talks about how great of a training camp they have had so far together.

Also every Rider has had a great training camp,   no rookies have made any mistakes,   no veterans need to look over their shoulders,   Pipkin is amazing because he made a single throw.

Streveler is a running back only as per Mullinder... he only can run he can't throw,  he is extremely one dimensional.

Mullinder is basically singing the Lego Movie - Everything is awesome song.

If I were a Riders fan listening on the radio,  I wouldn't be thrilled because you don't actually get any real feedback on who is performing and who is not.

No offense but who cares about what Mullinder says??? He gets paid to pump the Riders & he does it. I just wish we had a choice of what broadcast team to listen to. Of course, anyone could have turned the sound down on your device & put CJOB on.

Is pigrome even playing football? Didn’t Ottawa release him a long time ago? That ship has obviously sailed.

If they cut Pigrome after that one game he played then Barriere's days here are counting down fast.

Solid arm, we didn’t take any deep shots with any qb really. He struggled early but adjusted and bounced back. Impressive poise for a rookie. His mobility was good, better than brown. If he’s our qb3 I’d feel fine with it. Hope to see him finish the next game and start out a bit more composed.

All the qbs seemed to be tossing a bit behind and low today. I think the lack of full contact practices hurts qbs ability to get the off season rust off.

Wilson went deep once in the final few minutes only to have that Rider DB break up the play.

The Bombers used to have Bob and Doug doing their broadcasts, but I'll tell you..... The Riders have the real hoser.

    Mullinder sucks.

people dont realize that Strev throw a lot like Phillip Rivers did/does....and he had a pretty succesful and long career....and never had a dead or injured arm....

I never saw the first half because the stream wouldn't work for me for nearly half an hour. Spending nearly four years in the NFL, it;ll be interesting if Streveler embraced the new way qbs throw the ball now. Straight back, different arm slots & strong hip rotation. His throwing style in 2018 & 19 was actually closer to how young qbs throw now & is taking over college & pro ball. .

Even at the beginning when the fake Johnny Augustine got hurt, the injury was brought to you by something 😂

I dont see how Strev isnt the QB1B option and the short yardage guy ...this yr anyway....considering what he has done...what he can also do, and that the defense can't just assume it's a power dive

yeah...some small nuances already make you see that when he comes in...it wont be the lapo package....that in itself will also keep him healthier as Lapo had him absorb way too much punishment...even for a bull like him....was so dumb

Strev was a warrior. He played with a broken bone in his foot. Warrior. Had he kept playing for Lapo he'd be retired & in a wheelchair by now.

FWIW, and it wasn't worth much, Barrierre likely played himself out of town. That would be two highly-touted players who showed nothing. We are gonna be alright but some. of the boom is off the rose for several would-be Bombers.

Barriere's college coach is now the qb coach for the Stamps. He gave us Mike Reilly, VA & Bo Levi Mitchell so he could end up there.

  10. 6 minutes ago, Booch said:

imagine where he would be at if he didnt have to endure that second season here, and just ran the playbook, and used his legs when requied....maybe a small personalized package.....Lapo almost ruined him

He'll be QB2 here. So, if Wilson QB3 will he do short yardage or will Wilson? A 207 lb qb should be able to move the pile.

That's a bingo! There's definitely a shortlist of "douchenozZles" who think they know better than the coaches and front offices across the league while simultaneously posting the most ridiculous self agrandizing nonsense and boast that only they truly understand football, but you have to message them privately for proof.

It's funny when you take a step back

Try being a coach. More than a few fans thinks they can do better. Or call a better game. When you win, everyone is your friend slapping you on the back saying. "Great job!!!" When you lose that walk off the field to the locker room is a long & lonely one. It's like suddenly you're a dumbass & also have Covid. It comes with the territory whether you're a player, coach or a member here. Water off a duck's back.

  12. Let's look at it this way. I've watched the Bombers when young qbs like Barriere were projected to be our starter. And the OL was full of rookies like we're seeing. I expect we'll see a much different team next week. No need to worry. The Rider radio crew think they've won the Grey Cup.

It’s not a stupid point LOL anyone who posts here is obviously a big fan, but a big fan who can’t even support their team during training camp like what? You said you were interested in camp battles? Okay then go check them out tor yourself? Why is it a foreign concept to actually go support your team in person if you cared enough too instead of bitching and complaining about the media.
