Lol!! What a load of crap....

I agree. They won 2 games handily,so what??? The Riders played the Lions where Jennings stunk & Lulay had a rib injury so Wally didn't want to put him in when the game was out of hand because he didn't want to risk losing him to further injury as the game was out of hand. Then Friday night, injuries have caught up to the Eskimos with ten new starters.  we took advantage of the Eskimos so why shouldn't the Riders?  Let's not get carried away here with worry or build the Riders up bigger than they should be.

I'm sincerely curious how you know what Hurl's exact assignments on every single read are, Iso...?

I don't. Just speculating.  The same thing could be said for every position. It seems everyone was critical of Roc Carmicheal. Do people think he was always responsible for every pass that was caught behind him & he was in chase mode? Where was Lofler on some of those plays as support? What about blown assignments by others that might have affected Roc? If he thinks he's getting help when he's supposed to but isn't then criticizing him the way fans did here was wrong also as every long pass completed isn't his fault then either. Do any of his critics know Roc's exact assignments or reads here, either?

  3. But Hurl doesn't play the Cowboy position anymore. In 2017, he lines up as the Mac off the LOS in the traditional Mac position. He isn't just a yard off the LOS anymore between the guard & tackle. His job isn't just  to fill gaps or take on an OL like it was in 2015. His job is to drop & cover an area in pass pro, blitz or fill gaps A & B in run protection or cover the back out of the backfield. The same job other players  such as Reed, Muamba, Woods, Sherritt, Elimimian & Singleton.  He's having a problem doing that.

Re: MLB, you have no way of knowing how much scheme/system plays into the difference in stats between them.

As for this game, as long as the Stamps OL gives BLM time, he will tear apart any team, anywhere, any time....

Schemes & systems really don't mean much if you don't have the players who can  play well in them. A system means you find players who do fit well athletically for those schemes. Hurl just doesn't have the range to be an effective MLB. He can't make the plays other MLBs can. The Bombers decided in the past off season that a Canadian would play that position due to ratio issues elsewhere so we are forced to live with it.

Well ... maybe I should rephrase my last post a little bit.  The way the Redblacks were playing D in that 4th quarter is a perfect example of why bend but don't break D is bad and why Hall's system must be scrapped if we don't win the Grey Cup this year.

We'd be a lot better defensively if we had better linebackers.  They really hold everything back. Hard to improve when 2 out of the 3 starters can't make plays. Especially at Mac.

I'm a Jennings fan and I think he should be pulled at the half. His INT in the endzone was a horrible decision and he hasn't done anything since to make me think he'll turn it around this game. Time for the red headed guy.

I never liked him. He's a turnover machine. I think TSN built him up too soon & are still singing his praises even when he plays badly. Even today, Milt is going, "He's 25 & obviously the future". Why does his age make him the future? To me, he is an overrated young qb who gets rattled easy under pressure. If he continues to put the Lions in a huge hole before the stubborn Buono pulls him then how is he the future? I've seen other young BC qbs with more talent than Jennings wilt under the pressure so it  doesn't surprise me Jennings struggles so much. Guys like Paul Brothers & Don Moorehead. Jennings has a decent OL, great receivers & running backs & he still can't get it done.  The other guys didn't. Wally being Wally refuses to start Lulay so he's to blame...  His coaching decisions will kill that team.  Which is fine by me.
