MC reacted to BBRT in WSF: Bombers @ Stamps
Yeah not going to go there on your comments - Been there (almost 3 tours) know what happened so will steer this back to football - BTW most of the Aussies I knew over there were base camp dudes (means they never went to the bush). - In any event - looking forward to Sunday in the cold in Calgary - not sure how to predict the dang game. Going to be cold that's a given.

The horsecollar rule is intended to stop a particular mode of injury. It is actually called more liberally now than the original intent. Even with the wider interpretation, that tackle started at the front of the shoulder and it was not a penalty.

Top running team
Top run defence
Numerous big playmakers on both sides of the ball
Ability to dominate both sides of the LOS
These are all reasons people should not sleep on the Bombers quite yet. This team is built to win games in November.

No we are not, and yet a mighty team like Calgary can only average one cup every 5 years... So why are we so antsy after 4 years? We don't even have the luxury of one of the top QBs in the league so that demands more patience still!
I mean if we had a guy like Bo Levi Mitchell and had all the problems we got something to talk about, but given we are winning double digits every season, making the playoffs with a combination of Nichols and Streveler at qb... when the best qbs in the league all reside in this conference (Mitchell, Reilly and Harris) some of you expect too much.

As much as I wanted a horsecollar call on that play in real-time, after seeing the replay the defender clearly grabbed the front of the shoulder pad, which is clean and legal.

Yeah remember the ratings of the NFL when they had an East vs West championship and marketed it that way for decades...and then changed it without losing a beat? Remember that?
I'm not even arguing against you and the idea of forming one division. I personally don't give a ****. But your comparison doesn't float because the NFL was never about E vs W. There is no showing that their ratings dropped or got better when they switched. Because they never switched. Their Divisional system is different.

If O'Shea starts Streveler & keeps Collaros on the bench & we lose? Gonna be hell to pay. The way it should be is Collaros starts, Streveler comes in on short Yardage & goal line & stays in & has a package of plays he runs. Otherwise, the game is for Collaros to win.

Lol...what? One is a CFL level starting quarterback and the other is a short yardage specialist with heart. If O’Shea starts Streveler over Collaros he deserves what he gets after the inevitable loss

The NFL has never been about geography. Apparently it hurts their brains. Dallas has always been east of New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Raleigh, Atlanta, Detroit and Chicago on the map they use.

Wpg has a competent passer in Collaros. He has shown he can take a head shot as highlighted in the last game. Wpg has the best RB in the game today in Harris. There is no need to put Streveler on the field the same time as Collaros. He is best used as a short yardage guy with potential to bust a huge play on short yardage. He can also stay in the game as a change of pace QB in a hurry up offence after short yardage gains if needed to create a mismatch with the defense as they won't have a chance to sub in the guys they want and will have the heavy set on the field which would open up a down field play if Streveler can make that pass. This is the best scenario the Wpg offence can hope for and was very effective in the first half of the season before Nichols went down to injury. The combination of Collaros being the starting QB with the passing ability to make strikes down field and the ability of Chris Steveler to make big plays running the ball in short yardage situations is the best chance Wpg has to be successful in the playoffs. You play Colaros full out and you don't worry about injury because if you hesitate you are already losing. Go Fuking get em boys.

Today's shoulder pads are very good and offer good protection. But, I am completely with you on the helmets. It drives me absolutely crazy whenever I see one come off during the play or a player pull it off like it was a baseball cap. A properly designed, built and fitted helmet is not easy to take off. Anything less should result in immediate ejection from the game and, for repeat offenders, suspensions. The Bombers drought of grey cups is a far less of a risk to the organization than lawsuits.
