So the Bombers are finished for another year. Sad yes but I was certain that they wouldn't be in this position when the year started. Yeah they had some good players but they never seemed to get their act together. 
Well, they made me eat crow and I honestly could not be happier of that. Yeah it would have been great to go further but I thought we were just a few pieces short to do so. Surprisingly I was okay with that because this team showed me they are for real and it has been a very long, long time since I have gone into the off-season very optimistic that they ARE a few pieces away. Not even 2011 left me with that feeling.
So I could whine and ***** about today but I would much rather enjoy the huge steps forward this team took. That has been a hard thing to obtain for the Bombers. I can easily wait a bit more because there is now light at the end of the tunnel when I thought we hadn't even entered it yet.
Thanks to all the 2016 Bombers you brought a lot pride and honour back to this franchise and community.

is any coach in the east worthy of coach of the year after all of the eastern teams took massive steps backwards? Hell coach of the year in the east is probably Chapdelaine....

That COTY determination has just been turned into a farce. The best Coachs don't follow East-West guidelines. They are simply the Coachs who are deemed to have done the best job, under the circumstances, or because of the circumstances, and that certainly doesn't qualify ANY Eastern candidates.
Buono and O'Shea certainly ahead of Campbell.

The other part is, how has Richards not been able to even get a look in this O. Is he still that far off?

None of our guys got robbed. It's not like Elimimian is a joke. I would have picked Loffler for ROY, but Daniels was pretty friggen good. Otherwise I agree with the Western picks.
Ernest Jackson's a good player, but could he be the least inspiring pick for MOP ever? The Eastern picks are pretty sad. Woods is the only one who has a prayer.

Loffler has a reputation.  Daniels has stats.
Stats always edge out reputation.

I can't wait for Burris to retire.  I am so tired of our defenses making that clown look good.

I bet Keeping has been worth it just from the point of having a guy like that in dressing room. Vet leadership and having a extra set of eyes in meeting room on sidelines invaluable.

The thing is, you can't look at it as "2 bad years, 1 good" in a vacuum. It was 2 bad years in the start of a full body off restoration. This team was in such dire straits, talent-wise, when they came in, that nobody could've done much with that. I choose to believe that it's only now that we're starting to see the fruits of their labour...Where some people want to give Walters the longer contract because they think he's done such a good job finding talent, I actually feel like MOS deserves the longer contract for what he was able to do (anything at all!) with what he started with. He's a good coach who's still learning to be great. Terrified we'll lose the both of them to Toronto or Hamilton one day...

Its like poker- you put your money on the table and you take your chances. You have to look at the big picture.

Willy finally got us to the playoffs.

The rule and ruling are separate issues.
Take the emotion out of the call.
Its quite simple. There was a ruling on the field. There was insufficient evidence to overturn the ruling. The call on the field stands. If it was ruled a fumble..the same command decision would have been handed down. Insufficient evidence to overturn.
S**t happens.

Well ... this thread shows me who is here to actually talk football and who is here to I don't want to say complain so let's just call it.... ***** about the bombers regardless of a win or loss.  I mean really... we won the Damn game.... because for the most part we were the better team. But I guess that's not important to some people.... some would rather ***** about how we won. 
Bottom line.. we got 2 points. They got none.  All bomber fans should be happy with the win. 
Just curious what those bitching about the win would say I'd this happened to us instead? 
Also.... let's stop pretending that the command center was wrong and ppl watching on TV were right.  

Knee touched ball came out right call. Called immediately on the field and confirmed by command centre. I don't care what twatter-verse has to say. IMHO they got away with several holds, two PIs, etc so boohoo. 

That mic'd up crap did absolutely nothing to make the game better from a viewer standpoint.   The Cadence being barked out means absolutely nothing to those not familiar with the playbook and call so it's really a useless novelty

IMHO, the biggest plus to Nichols is the leadership.   How he acts, how he reacts, and how he  interacts with his teammates and coaches. He is a natural leader with enough confidence to inspire others, without being all about himself.   I believe that this is why he can put together drives with the game on the line; he understands the situation.   All good QB's need to know when to be aggressive, and when to take what they give you and move along.
I cite three examples from the last game:
1.  TD drive after the fumble.  He took shots downfield to little used JFG.  He knew that it was time to get aggressive and he went for it.
2.  Short yardage.   He stays in, and he's been good at getting that yard.  2 TD's vs the Riders at the Banjo Bowl.  He goes full out to get the hard yard, and not all starting QB's want that job.
3.  I was very impressed with the tackle he made on the missed FG.  Sure it ended up not mattering due to the penalty, but he didn't know it at the time.  It showed his character and desire to win the game.   Full marks, and I'd bet you top dollar that his teammates noticed it as well.   
I'm very pleased with Nichols, and he is our starter for good reason.
 

I don't think it's very easy to win back to back games against anyone in this league. Look at Hamilton and Toronto... they split their back to back.  Edmonton after being killed last week lost in OT to Calgary this week.  
The LDC is the riders Grey Cup... Durant before that game said that is the 1 game they don't lose at home. They did and they lost the banjo bowl also but honestly.... when you play back to back games.... isn't it more likely you split those games? Give Sask credit.... their D was very good the other day... so was the bombers... difference that game was our O was just a wee bit better. And our coach isn't as stupid as Jones is 
 

I dunno guys, Glenn has a lot better stuff on his resume than Nichols. They won't make a change quickly but if Glenn gets a chance he might just run with it. For all his problems winning the big game the dude can still perform in the CFL, that's why he's lasted as long as he has. 

Teams will adjust but I truly believe Lapo will also adjust. It seems that Lapo has adjusted after the half in ever game so far. Something we never got with Marcel. And once we have some receivers back he will likely let Nichols let loose more. But I suppose we will see. 

I wouldn't move Willy for Durant. Durant may be a proven quantity but he is approaching the end of his career while I remain hopeful that Willy can overcome his current woes. I don't fault Willy for having issues I fault those above him for not recognizing the issue sooner and either pulling him out sooner or doing something more to help him work through his issues.
To be honest though I had not expected Nichols to return to his pre-injuries form. I am still very impressed at how damn efficient he has been. He is so different from the Matt Nichols of the last two years.
