M.Silverback reacted to Noeller in Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season
No way you're getting Oakman, Mauldin, Jeffcoat, Jefferson and Bighill all under the same cap

I gotta be honest, I'm OK with running it back for the most part. We may need to say goodbye to a veteran or two to shore up some areas of need like the DL (just not enough quality depth) but overall it's hard not to like a 15-3 team... even if they lost the big game...there are very few areas of need. We just need a couple small tweeks here and there.
I have a feeling that Neufeld may hang them up, but Dobson is ready imo and if Drew comes back we are all set.

I'd argue that Jeffcoat is better than Jefferson.
Hardrick and Biggie are interesting choices.

Not sure if you're saying best in the Grey Cup or the season. Grey Cup I agree. Very noticeable when he went out. Even the season, I think he's overall a better D-end than Jefferson, but doesn't make the splash plays Willie does.

Interesting to see the Jeffcoat hate today....I thought he was our best defensive player, or at least the most impactful.

Players absolutely care. It's not just a pride thing either, some players have all-star clauses in their contract so this stuff affects their finances as well.

M.Silverback reacted to Bubba Zanetti in Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
They dont need to be perfect but they need to be damn near perfect inside 40 yards. Missing two in the same game in pressure situations is a red flag. No one is saying Liegghio needs to go. Some people just want insurance bought in. Hell, its something Walters already did last year.

Lol, how can you say with a straight face that Liegghio is currently a better kicker than Hajrullahu. I mean, common. My glasses are blue too but thats craziness.

Lirim Hajrullahu was cut by the Cowboys. Have to wonder if he's run out of NFL chances now. Maybe he considers returning to the CFL. I'd feel a lot better about a three-peat with him as our kicker.

I see two clear limits:
1. He is not being trotted out for long FGs. We punt instead. If the coaching staff had faith (ie. Medlock) he would make some attempts here and there.
2. He gets in his own head. When he misses one, he misses multiple (ie. The BC and Montreal games this year).

Im ok with letting Liegghio right the ship but if he starts shanking gimme field goals again down the stretch something needs to be done. Castillo was 5/5 in the Grey Cup last season. Anyone here think that were back-to-back champs right now if Liegghio was our kicker in the Grey Cup? I dont.

He sounds like he went through the Mike O’Shea school of pro football.

M.Silverback reacted to Potential in Week 6 - Game Day Thread - Stumps @ CHAMPS!!
You can tell he desperately wants to be the new Harris, but unfortunately he doesn't seem to have the same arsenal of tools at his disposal.
I'm going to reserve judgment until our OL is a little more healed up though, as that may be a large part of the problem right now.
We'll see!

M.Silverback reacted to Old Bomber Fan in Week 6 - Game Day Thread - Stumps @ CHAMPS!!
not sure if this has been discussed but what are the opinions on Olivera running the ball. Personally I don't he is good enough. He is slow to get to the line or pocket, stutter steps when he gets there and is always down by first contact. Our other running backs are quicker and harder to bring down and do not go down on first contact most of the time. Opinions?

We might not have a burner at WR (Grant, kind of), but we really a big receiving core. Schemed correctly that's a problem for defenses.

Biggest take away for me... Andrew Harris is still much better than any RB we have... and most other RBs in the league... if he plays even 14 games this year, it'll be a miss by our management.

Don't often comment in game but O play calling in horrible and Oliveira and Augustine for that matter are like the second coming of Keenan LaFrance. And that's not a good thing.

Opposing defenses have zero respect for our RB’s - running plays or screens
