  1. I'd be very surprised to see Wild back anytime soon. Will be interesting to see how Santos-Knox looks in his second start after a strong game vs sask.
  2. Looks like Bridge is starting, would love to see Hamilton squeak out an ugly win against the riders.
  3. Over the last couple weeks, haven't our depth charts showed 8 starting Canadians? (Harris, JFG, Chung, Goose, Westi, Jake Thomas, Loffler, Hurl) So why couldn't Bass be put in the middle without other changes needed? Quite honestly, I'm not a fan of Hurl so my analysis is going to be biased, and Im not sure how well Bass would be suited for a MLB role vs weakside, but I just dont think Hurl is a starting MLB. Stantos-Knox looked good at weakside LB last week, its only one game but it was promising so Im not sure I would want to move him just yet to make room for Bass.
  4. First in total points scored. First in rushing yards, top 3 in not turning the ball over on offence, QB leading the league in QUAR, 8-3 record. Not sure how anyone can point to Lapo (or the offence in general) as a weakness of this team. As others have pointed out, occasionally he out-thinks himself, but he has been a great play caller since returning to the Bombers. And our offence has to be this good in order to make up for a defense that, while generating alot of turnovers, gives up more yards and points than any other team.
  5. Would absolutely love to see Thorpe take over for Hall here, but I seriously doubt anything would happen mid-season based on the way O'Shea operates. While I could see an offseason switch as more likely, I think Thorpe will be snatched up by then.
  6. Whatever shakes out over the next 3 games, Im just happy that IGF looks like its starting to become more of an advantage to play there for the Bombers. Atmosphere has been great there this season.
  7. 1. Moe 2. Denny 3. Stantos-Knox HH: RIP Moose, we barely knew ye Just a final comment, but its just so nice to watch chris jones lose.
  8. After I **** on Lankford all week about him being in the lineup over Thorpe, he played a great game. If he's going to be in the lineup then we need to involve him more on offence (like Lapo did on the weekend) rather than just have him out there on special teams. I still think Thorpe is the better option to have in the lineup, but I gotta eat my words a bit on Lankford.
  9. the amount of uncalled holds the riders managed to pull off was staggering.
  10. We need Poop and Nevis both clogging the middle of the trenches because after that we have Sam Hurl behind them up the middle.
  11. From talking to people with connections to the Bombers (friend of a friend thing) which I understand is second hand info, but it sounds like Wild is done for the better part of the remaining schedule, if not the rest of the year entirely. May be bullshit, but I don't expect to see him again this season.
  12. Round 2 will be better, maybe we can fake some injuries and slow them down
  13. I didnt think the game was that bad after the first quarter - it was just too big a hole to dig out of - especially when the home team steals momentum so quickly on an annual rivalry game. Would have liked to see the riders legitimately defend against a hurry up offence rather than pull a ***** card out of their back pocket, but I guess thats just a chris jones team. Ill be at the Banjo Bowl, round 2 will be better
  14. Richie needs to go, too much talent on defense being wasted under him. We are generating turnovers which is saving him at the moment, but the amount of yards we give up is crazy. Okapalugo has under performed since coming back from injury, and while I agree it'll take a few games for him to get back up to speed, how long will it be before we put Poop back in the lineup? Im really not too worried about the offence other than getting Thorpe back on the gameday roster. Lankford is garbage as a WR and isnt a game breaker on special teams - should have been Lankford getting the boot rather than Thorpe when Dressler came back, it was clear before the game and is just as clear now.
  15. So glad we kept Lankford in the lineup over Thorpe. Also, Cory Johnson scratched again today why? Richie Hall needs to go, so sick of watching his soft ass defense give up yards like a knife through butter.
  16. McDuffie also had us up near the top of the league in terms of kick returning last year, maybe its not so much who we put back there, its more the guys we put in front of them
  17. I think Lankford should have come out of the lineup. Thorpe can also return kicks, he set school records in college returning kicks. Plus, hes a better receiver than Lankford is. You can really make a case for any of these players in terms of arguing they should stay in the lineup - a good problem to have I suppose.
  18. Blaszko was released today I thought, not sure what # he wore
  19. cant Flanders return kicks as well? I like Lankford, but I think it makes the most sense to pull him out to get Dressler back in only because we have some other guys who can return kicks - Thorpe, Flanders, Fogg
  20. If Dressler is good to go, maybe we try pulling Lankford out of the lineup and let Thorpe get a crack at kick returning. Thorpe set some school records at UNC for kick returning.
  21. Rookie: Poop (honorable mention Thorpe) ST: Medlock (honorable mention to Mike Miller on cover team) Defensive: Mo (HM: Randle) OL: Bond (HM: Goose) MOC: Harris (HM: no one really even close to Harris IMO) MOP: Nichols (toss up between him and Harris to me)
  22. 1. Randle 2. Denmark 3. Harris - not as flashy of a performance as last week, but a workman's effort and some hard fought yards. Honorable mentions: Leggett (strip sack), Medlock (obvious), Nichols (steady game, no turnovers, one before the half shouldn't really count), Adams (clutch 2-pt. conversion), JFG (ol' reliable), Jeffcoat (all around strong game, seemed to be getting pressure often).
  23. Harris looked ok after taking that hit which is a relief. Jeffcoat looked to be hurt pretty bad, walked off the field but I didn't see him come back into the game at all, can anyone confirm? Also, Alexander I'm not sure was even hurt, looked like he may have just needed to fix his knee brace which looked to have come loose on the play. Hope that's all it was.
  24. I would be surprised (and disappointed) to see Okpalaugo get scratched. I know Jeffcoat is playing well but just based on his history I think he deserves to at least rotate in. To me the scratches should be Foketi & Faith.
