  1. Tbh i think releasing the cuts earlier (like the bombers did) is the nice thing to do for the players. It is kind of similar to when teams have to release players so they could tryout in the NFL. Obviously noone wants to be cut, but waiting till the last moment possible is kind of a jerk move, even if teams are entitled to do so. I think players notice when organizations screw them around like that.
  2. This is just a guess but I would think it has to do with when each team's respective season opener is? Either way, I agree it is odd that some guys get left in the lurch longer depending on the team they're trying out for.
  3. One of the biggest things we'll miss from Adams' departure was his blocking ability.
  4. Speedflex and Tracker hope you are doing alright, i love pretending to know what I am talking about for football with both of you.
  5. In the Ray trade, EDM got Jyles, Grant Shaw and a draft pick that turnes into Austin Pasztor. Jyles finished out that year (2012) with Edm and was later cut. Shaw kicked for EDM from 2012 to 2016. Pasztor never played on CFL, he made it to the NFL. TOR won 2 Grey Cups with Ray at the helm, including the year the season after the trade occurred. During Ray's stint in TO tho, he was injured lots Tldr; EDM traded Ray to TO for a placekicker and 1/2 year of Steven Jyles. Shaw's unverified FG % (career) was about 80%.
  6. Hey now, Drew Willy was instrumental too... Think of all the players we were able to afford when we fleeced TO in that trade and dumped his salary.
  7. I love Streveler, but in 2019 when Nichols was out before we acquire Collaros, Strevs would sometimes throw some absolutely backbreaking picks. Not sure he could be a bonafide starter, his inability to pass was exposed in the latter half of 2019.
  8. Good. Let the facade continue. They're going nowhere with him.
  9. What's worse than being in Regina? Being in Regina on a Tuesday.
  10. Re: Saunders' culpability is irrelevant. Being associated with a player accused of domestic violence when part of league branding is standing up against it is hypocritical. I have no problem with his release. Part of being a football player is being in the public eye, rightly or wrongly, they are often held to a higher standard than the rest of us.
  11. Not a whole lot can really be done about this though... If a team wants to play starters in preseason, there isnt anything to stop them from doing that. I think most fans realize when a team is largely playing backups.
  12. Just purposely stinks it up the first half so he gets pulled for his TSN gig at halftime
  13. Does anyone have a good explanation for the 2 Qb max on the roster? BC in a precarious spot again with a QB going down...
  14. Welp i am stuck working the weekend may as well listen to this one. Should be interesting how BC deals with life after Michael Reilly.
  15. Shoutout to the Elks player that was so offside on an Elks punt he ran off the jumbotron in the replay lmfao
  16. Agreed, Prukop made some terrible pass attempts in the game and Brown showed more escapability.
  17. I dont know who 36 was but he had a couple nice plays, read the snap count and laid the wood a couple times. Also thought Augustine played well, and Prukop may be looking over his shoulder a bit.
  18. So..... Has the preseason game scheduled tomorrow (May 27) been officially postponed? Does anyone know? Have not heard anything from the club....
  19. Yet another valid point for the "this is why Edmonton sucks" argument
  20. Debt free at 30! Also love this city and all its' warts. Have fun having [INSERT STARTING QB NAME HERE] throw to you Lawler.
  21. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/cfl/cfl-cflpa-reach-tentative-collective-agreement-1.6458863 Not sure if this belongs here.
  22. Imagine if this entire strike was just so the Bomber players could defer going to SSK
  23. The Maple Leafs are now tied with the Bruins for most game 7 losses in league history (14). The Bruins oddly enough also have the most game 7 wins (15) of any team and have played in the most overall of any franchise.
