  1. Is the Game Televised? If so why?
  2. Well given the current cast of cast-offs and want to be's; not surprising. Rookies from the President on down! An OC that no one wants, poor to no existing recruiting to speak of and a Board made up of "good ol boys" how can you expect anything otherwise? Now let's see how they can con the season ticket holders into renewing for 2016 - that should be interesting.
  3. I agree with your thoughts. I think this is doable! However while we are attempting to set the record got to wonder how many folks will be showing up at the games? Maybe we can get lucky and play all of our home games away like the Argo's had to do this year. Heck given the problems with the new stadium it might be in the public's best interest - safety wise, to not play in the stadium until they get it fixed (which from what I can see will take sums of money not yet even thought of). But of course in order to achieve this record we need to give Miller, MOS and MB life time contracts. Going to be a long winter in the Peg!
  4. "Nah, its 99.99999999999999999 percent MB - Corrected it for you!
  5. Answer to "Am I Crazy for being so optimistic" - YES! Nothing has happen against Calgary and Edmonton that changes my mind. Given the same management team in place for 2016 by this time in 2016 you will be able to say the same thing about 2017 - see the trend here?
  6. Yup. Calgary is not the juggernaut they were the last couple of years and very beatable. The difference is the coaching and the number of brain cramps, but we ought to be able to tell pretty soon in the game if the Bombers' hearts are in it. so you are saying the Bombers should lose easily tonight given our coaching and number of brain cramps? Calgary does not have to be a juggernaut - they just have to show up IMHO. The Stamps may be beatable but not by this dysfunctional group!
  7. It was a good article to some extent. The question is as it is in any business how long do you go with a deficit (in this case wins vs. losses) before you make the decision that change is needed? 2-3-5 years? What will really determine how long Wade Miller is given is the season ticket count in 2016. And it is the "guy in the luxury suite with purple teeth after a few too many glasses of pinot noir " that has forked over the dough to keep Miller and company in business. Only time will tell. But if at the end of the year the Big Blue Experiment ends with a 3-15 or 4-14 record with no foreseeable uptick in fortunes the "guy in the luxury suite with purple teeth after a few too many glasses of pinot noir" will not be an issue - he will just not be there!
  8. Then we get a week of "I told ya so" and "We need to keep this group together" and "We're on the right track" and "O'Shea's a great HC" and so on before we fall back to earth the week after. Honestly, we should win this week. Regina's only won a single game all year, it's very hard to win back to back and we're at home. That is pretty much what will happen if we luck out and win. Therefore I am hoping that we do not in fact "Luck out". If we pull off a win it will just tend to camouflage our true weakness and give MOS and MB an out! Let's admit our mistakes and move on. Don't see anything happening at the top until end of season however if the Bombers even hope to attract 25K in season tickets for 2016 they will need to send a clear message to the fans and keeping MOS and MB around is not that message.
  9. Dont worry.. The team will forgive you when you decide to remember you are supposed to support your team thru thick and thin.. And dont think im happy with whats happened this season.. At all. Doesnt mean i stop watching and pulling for em. How old are you Spuds? Just wondering if you've hit the same weariness as the rest of us Im old enough to remember the good days. Im old enough to have watched this team struggle for 20 years.. Doesnt change the fact inlove my bombers and will ALWAYS support them, watch them and cheer for them.. Hell, im even gonna rewatch this game tonight to evaluate why and what went wrong.. Good for your Spuds - if you enjoy horror shows I think re-watching what happened in Regina is right up your alley. As Einstein has been quoted as saying "Insanity - doing the same thing over again and again and expecting different results! I gottcha beat on watching the Insanity - I started watching them in 1981 and then moved to Calgary about 20 years ago.. And when does the thick happen? Seems to me for a long number of years it has been "thin and thinner"
  10. Have to wonder where Wade Miller is too. I had high hopes at the start of the year with Wade running the show. He was a hard nose Bomber who understood the CFL. Was not the most talented guy but gave it 110%. Then went into business after his Bomber career and made a success of his company. Must have known how to hire good people in order to be successful in business. Thought he would bring the same to his organization. I guess I am wrong on all counts. My wife has always said I had too much emotional investment in the Bombers (after moving to Calgary I gave up my season tickets so no longer have any financial investment in this team). But year over year - lousy management, lousy coaching at all levels and lousy talent has pretty much drained me of any emotional investment. Today I watched the 1st quarter and then just plain became apathetic. I believe I have watched my last Bomber game and really no longer have much of an interest in what happens going forward. Better things to do!
  11. O'Shea is a terrible head coach. The only difference between he & Burke is he doesn't cry. Results exactly the same. They lose & lose & lose. Iso...what hard facts do you have that proves Mike O'Shea a terrible head coach? Sure you can look at the record but i'm not sure that alone is evidence enough. In my opinion Mike O'Shea is at this time an average head coach who could become a good one. But even the best head coaches in this league have had their lows. Other than that you have no real evidence of his ability to coach. Other than your subjective views. Mike O'Shea is a terrible head coach period. The proof is in the record. Not sure why you would think otherwise. And his record IMHO is evidence enough.
  12. As much as I am NOT a Rider Fan and believe me I would rather slash my wrist that be one - I am kind of hoping that the Riders sweep the two from the Bombers which will put is in next year land. Then and only then can we tie a can to our OC and maybe even HC and start to put something together for 2016. Problem is who puts it together? So far the current Bomber brain trust (and that is a oxymoron if I ever heard one) have not done much to improve the team IMHO.
  13. If I were Walters I would be checking airline schedules to see how quickly I could get out of town, and buy three seats one for him, one MOS and MB. But seriously not much will happen. We will struggle again through the end of the year be somewhere around 5-13 or 4-14 but with Drew Willey back at the end for a victory. Then over the off season we will hear about all the great signings and related. Then 2016 more of the same as 2015 and 2014 and ????? for who knows how many years. The more things change the more they stay the same!
  14. Can you imagine what will happen if the Riders beat Ottawa tomorrow and then they beat the Bombers back to back. Both teams would have 3 wins! And to be frank I think the Riders have a good chance of winning both sides. I would take their 3rd string QB over anything we have. And as hard as it is for me to say this - I would take their talent over what we currently have likewise coach etc. It will be interesting to see what happens if the Riders take both ends of the home and home.
  15. I can not help but agree with your comments. Maybe one day the Bombers will get that culture back.
  16. Well if your a Bomber player you have "Never been there before" and probably never will be there! Good on the TiCat's. They are kicking butt. I only wish the Bomber kiddie's were doing close to the same!
  17. Maybe catching the next train out of dodge? Going to be hard to right this ship wreck with the current coaching group IMHO. First step if I were Walters would be to tell MB - see ya would not want to be ya!
  18. Agree 100% and that gentlemen is one MOS. Great job coach! Just screwed the pooch for the balance of the year but there is a silver lining - Maybe they will send you packing along with your sorry OC at end of year!
  19. not only are they not prepared - they are out gunned physically. Hamilton is better across the board including coaching.
  20. give it a rest - quick looking for excuses! Bombers getting their butts handed to them. Hamilton just scores again! Bombers need to just give them the 2 points and get on the plane as soon as possible.
  21. This is not even funny 14-0 Hamilton already - time to change the channels and focus on the BBQ
  22. True Dat! But Hamilton has taken out Bomber QB's before. Got to hope for Max protection. Maybe keeping in extra to block etc.
  23. who'd you pick today? I took Hamilton in the Pick 'Ems on this site but I'm now leaning towards the Bombers. Certainly today would be a good day to put some money down on the Bombers. Hamilton is a little beat up, Winnipeg is healthy and hungry to put together back-to-back wins. The undefeated streak at THF will end at some point and today is as good a day as any. Key matchup is Collaros vs the Bombers defence. If he gets on a roll again, the Bombers are toast. If the defence can contain him and keep his completion percentage below 65, Bombers win. Special teams will be key as well. Either way I predict a close game. I agree with your analysis. The issue IMHO is that the Bombers are dead last in QB Sacks as of today. If they can not get pressure on Collaros and he is allowed time it could and will be a long day for the Bomber defence. And the TiCat front 7 is very strong. If the Bombers can play error free ball and get a few breaks things could be close. However I think the TiCat Defence will be a little too strong and the Bomber defence (especially the front 7) will not be able to put the necessary pressure on Collaros.
  24. Dieter (Ralph) Brock is the reason I am a life time Bomber Fan. The very first CFL game I saw in person (visiting Winnipeg from my home in Dallas with my wife - who was born in the Peg). I was able to get on the field (father-in-law was on the Bomber board in those days) and had the chance to meet Dieter personally. I then went into the stands behind the Bomber Bench. My first time seeing the field width and extra length really took me by surprise. I never thought anyone could throw a ball across the field or deep with such a wide and deep field. On the 2nd series (not even sure we were playing) the ball was on the left hash mark and Brock threw a sideline pass from the left hash mark all the way to the right sidelines (where I was) and about 20 yards down field. The ball never got any higher than about head high or so and was perfect spiral. The ball was thrown so hard that it hit the slot back in the chest and knocked him down (can not remember who the slot was back in the mid 70's). And Brock did this with just a flick of his wrist and never even seemed to put any effort in the throw. It is now 40 years later and I still remember that throw! I still have a very old (and somewhat faded) Dieter Brock jersey that I wear today.
  25. True Dat! I don't see the Bombers OLine and Offensive schemes handing the Hamilton front 7 and attacking defence. I just hope that we escape with no injuries to our QB etc.
