I hear you brother. I just don’t like arguing over fairytales. I get we’re only going off what we have, I just don’t understand the purpose.

This isn’t like the Hardrick deal to me. I don’t need to know anything other than “Hardrick” and “highest paid American OL” to know that’s stupid. Way more at play here.

Fair enough- and dammit you quoted me pre autocorrect edit.

If the market is the market, then it’s not an overpay. You’re too caught up on the individual numbers, man. Who cares? It’s a good day for us. Do you think you’re going to be in the stands in August surrounded by people celebrating a Brady TD thinking to yourself “arggggh that could’ve cost us $900 less!”

I still stand by that. But you’re right, we can all have opinions. The only thing I don’t like about this salary cap talk is that it’s an opinion based on absolutely nothing. We’re all just guessing.

Just reacting  to the numbers available. They could be wrong - but it is all we have right now.

I’m a long time season ticket holder , through my family and now on my own. I’m not going anywhere. Doesn’t mean I agree every single move. Particularly in the moment.

What if Jackson is his lead blocker?

I’m genuinely baffled at some of the reactions in here lol have we just turned into a ridiculously spoiled and entitled Rideresque fanbase who thinks everyone should take less money for the honour of playing here?

The Bombers just signed the MOP finalist, MOC winner to a two year contract in the prime of his career. Take the hometown element out of it.

MBB members, with no information on other offers, negotiations, the Bombers’ internal cap, how much other players get paid, how much the Bombers were anticipating paying, how much Brady asked for, where we’ve spent or plan to spend other dollars, where we’ve saved or plan to save other dollars or really genuinely any information about anything at all other than just a bunch of retweets from guys they only trust if the information suits their narrative: “tOo MuCh”

    what?

If the numbers are accurate - yes, some feel that is too much.

I feel you though. I saw threads that said stuff like “ Za@cH  ColLaros needs to go” and I thought “what?”.

It is like you can have more than one opinion, right?

Also seeing posters changing their tune from what they were saying pre re-signing.

When was Harris the entire offense in BC when he got paid that money?

Brady just had 2016 yards from scrimmage and a 5.9 YPC with 13 touchdowns. I know nostalgia is a thing, but that’s a more productive season than Andrew Harris has ever had.

I’m talking about with us - and it was basically 2016- 2019.

Brady walked into a finished product - and everyone knew Harris was getting the ball.

Again, I love Brady, best back in the league. The contract is too high in my opinion.

Don’t love the money but I do like that we have the second year because that's got "restructure to take a big bonus and lower the cap hit" written all over it.

People will be upset about the money but as long as we didn’t overspend (which I don’t think we did, it’s exactly what Harris used to make) then it is what it is, they obviously had their number to make it work as we’ve all been saying and this fit.

Harris was the entire offence for years. Brady is one part of the offence.

Feels like an overspend to me.

I really think there’s a notable absence of negotiations being held with the top receivers and I’m guessing it’s because everyone has realized paying 300k to a Lawler or Lewis doesn’t mean anything if you suck at QB.

My gut tells me right now that Schoen may have been hoping for an offer from Ottawa to go play with Dru, but now that it’s probably not coming, he’ll be back here at 260k-ish

    Hopefully.

Club needed to do this you can’t have a top ten player in the league from your city playing for another team. Just from a PR point this a win.

    Yeah you can.

Schoen would be great but it is easier to get good import receivers than CDN starting RBs.

Except it took us literally decades to find one that we recruited to the level of Schoen.

I’m going to try and be self-aware with this because I know I prefer Schoen over Brady myself, but I did have a conversation with my dad the other day where he made a very good point: we’ve never played Schoenball in the 4th Q to seal a win. We’ve made a habit of playing Bradyball. That stuff does matter and I don’t think I had really considered that until he said it.

True - but Bradyball works better when you have a lead. That comes after Schoen racking up TDs.

I love Brady, I’m glad he is back - he is the best RB in the league. However, giving him bank is not high on my priority list.

I genuinely don’t think he was that bad to start the year, but that one game where he gambled and got burned for the TD was basically the end of him being even remotely good

When he started looking for picks instead of actually covering his guy it went downhill. Labour Day was the start of the fall.

Changed  the whole game by taking a needless risk for a pick 6.

yup....and what we likely had on table....good for him on soaking the Riders and bidding them up...as there were others interested....too funny tho....Man Rider management is brutal...I sure on Riderfans the see it as fleecing us ahahaha

I’m positive there is rejoicing over there. They paid the $60k “I have to live in Regina” tax to Yoshi.
