You assume they have a "web team", I assume they don't.  They probably had someone set it up years ago who is now long gone, site basically runs on the ancient framework and if anything goes wrong they have to rely on outside help to resolve their problems.

never thought of that! Thought all organizations had a web team. Ours is small - 3 folks but they do a great job! We do outsource content to a professional writer but everything else is inhouse. - Even today a stat holiday here in Alberta one of them is working on bug fixes to 1 of our sites. Hope the Bomber site comes up soon as I know lots of folks post there and here both. Heck Mookie (Colin Unger) was a one man shop and his site was very seldom down when he had OurBombers going.

    Hey everyone.

Nice to see some familiar handles on here as I just signed up !

I find it disheartening that there has been zero comment from the team on that  forum being down.

    Glad to be here !!!

Folks I did get an email from someone in the Bomber organization yesterday (prior to game time) that they were working on the issue. I had asked for a contact person to chat with and of course that was not provided. I have been a long time poster here and over there and even back in the days of Colin's site and prior to that the original TotalCFL site when it first started. I am somewhat pissed at the Bomber organization for not providing anyone with at least a "Flash Page" when you go to the site that would indicate the site was down etc. etc. My company has 3 sites that we depend on for info and product orders at times, and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt if any of them were down as long as the Bomber Site has been down without some form of notice - We would be replacing the web team rather quickly.

Lighten up, gcn11. Once you get past Noeller's crusty exterior he's alright. The crustiness is actually a part of his style. Think of him as the crusty old man on Seinfeld ...

problem is that Noeller is 21 years old! :) - just kidding have no idea how old Noeller is - however in his defense I am somewhat crusty but I get the right to be - as I am over 21! (by 635 months). :)

    Couldn’t disagree more.

Varied. That’s how I would describe the game plan.
    And it worked.
He stretched the field, used Streveler and Demski wisely, and mixed running the ball and passing throughout the game.

A big win for Lapo...translates into a big win for the Bombers.

I agree - I have been hard on Lapo and Hall all year and today I want to give them props for a job well done. Now on to Regina for what I hope is more of the same.

What a rush that game was.

Just back from the game and trying to thaw out! A couple of observations

1.0 Terrible crowd - we have super reds and my row had about 1/2 the folks in it that I normally see.

2.0 No matter how well you dress for the dang cold - you can never ever keep your feet warm (even with thermal socks and snow boots).

    3.0 Thank god for coffee!

Now to the game - great game for the Bombers. BLM really stunk up the joint! According to the folks I was with - he has a problem with cold weather. I enjoyed seeing the Bombers play great in all facets of the game. Kudos to both the offense and defense.

Finally - I will be at the Grey Cup and only one more game for the Bombers to win and they will be there - And please please let it be warmer!

Before I go off on O'Shea & the medical staff, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that he may not be hurt as seriously reported.

Will be interesting to see what happens when I get there. We are just leaving shortly - Sun is out here in South Calgary but never know what it is like once I get to the stadium. I do know it is Cold and the winds are picking up.

  7. Hard to figure this one out. I think the Edmonton DL could make a difference but as someone posted previously they seem to have fallen off over the past few weeks. And I am never ever certain what Jason Maas will do. He is sort of a wild card. I think I will go with Montreal on this one.

What do you call Dave Dickersen, Bo Mitchell, and Calgary receivers getting together in the basement?

    A whine cellar.

    anyway....

need to stop Mitchell from stepping up in the pocket, maybe they push the tackles outside to allow him to do that. don't let him. He gets a lot of time to throw doing that.

My pick for a big play..... Jake! sack, or cause a fumble. maybe pick it up and rumble for a few yards.  Jeffersen or Jeffcoat int.

Bighill bigday would be nice. Hope the refs don't stink the place up.

If they get just a  bit of good luck, I see a Bombers win.

The area I will be somewhat focused on at the game is the line play. Calgary is starting 3 imports on their OL (both tackles and the center). It will all depend (IMHO) on how much pressure the Bomber DL can get on BLM. With the field conditions and the cold it also may be how well the Bombers can stop the Calgary run game and of course vice versa. I am heading out around 1PM for the game. Normally we leave earlier and stop for lunch somewhere but for this one we want to make sure we get there in good shape given the roads in Calgary today. Lots of snow and still snowing. I have AWD  and winter tires on so not all that worried.

Well if they do as shytty a clearing job as their fellow Albertans in Edmonton for the Grey Cup last year, who knows how the hel the field will turn out.

just for a fan perspective - where we sit is about 1/2 way up on the west side around the 45 yard line - and the winds seem to hit us pretty hard when they blow. I expect the field will be good but the winds may swirl and the cold will be a factor. I am hoping for a game that will be won or lost in the trenches where we have a chance. If BLM lights it up and the field is dry we are in deep trouble. I think it will be a close hard fought game!

ModAdmin had mentioned recently that there were going to be some enhancements to the place, hopefully that is what this is all about... Zipp, thanks for the update... and thx MBB for allowing the conversation, there are several members that support both...

I am one that supports both. Wanted to see all the comments on both sites today - The game starts at 2:30 tomorrow so will be dark and cold when finished. I have all my winter gear out ready to head out tomorrow - Lots of coffee will be consumed that's for sure. I

No it’s down.  Haven’t heard any update from the mod admin.  Reached out to him on Twitter and nothing but the Bombers did acknowledge it was down and they are working on it.

thanks for the info. If it is not too much to ask what is his address on twitter as I do not have it and really a novice on Twitter.

The Bombers organization is connected to that board ?........

I believe so. Never understood the relationship etc. But thanks to all to confirm what I thought! - I try and post to both forms just to ensure they keep going etc. But getting the lack of feedback on the other forum when they are down is very bothersome.

  13. Folks I know it is probably not good form to discuss the other Bomber Forum however I was wondering if anyone had tried to access it over the past 48 hours? I keep getting a 404 error on all of my browsers. The site is http://forums.bluebombers.com/index.php#1 and all I get is a 404 error. I have tried to post this issue on the social media sites for the Bombers but no response as of yet. Any others out there that have experienced the same issue and any ideas if it is something at my end would be greatly appreciated.

Zero is being optimistic. The Stamps fanbase is pathetic. There is only a handful of Calgary media here who care. The rest is Flames. Flames. Flames. Other than the 3 media types at 770 CHQR who cover the Stamps on radio, there's only 1 Postmedia beat writer who covers the Stamps for both the Calgary Sun & Herald. His name is Danny Austin. I follow him on twitter. He's constantly tweeting about the Stamps & he engages anyone who comments.  The guy likes CFL football & does a good job covering the team. But that's it. No one else really does. The sad part is he's from Toronto & he has more passion for the Stampeders than the rest of the media combined.

Can't help to agree somewhat. I have 4 Super Red Zone Season Tickets (all business related). I normally have clients call way in advance to see if they are available. For the WSF I got 1 call for 2 tickets. I am using the other and taking my son-in-law. The weather here is pretty crappy (at least according to what Environment Canada is predicting etc.) Lots of snow starting today and extending into tomorrow. High tomorrow with wind chill around -19C or so. Never know what to expect here. But I am predicting a sparse crowd for a play off game. I will be drinking lots of coffee that's for sure and will have on my Bomber Parka!

I really don't know how to predict this one! The Calgary OL is very good (I think they will start 3 Imports) - not 100% sure on that one. Last time out we did not get much pressure on BLM or at least not enough IMHO. I will be at the game - probably freezing my buns off!

I knew an Aussie who served there. The unit refused to go out on patrol or bivouac with Americans, as they were stupid, careless, racist, arrogant and often stoned. They were dumb enough to go on patrol with lit cigarettes in their mouths, day or night and call to each other. The Aussies would not bed down until an hour after sunset, and move out before dawn. Only half the unit would sleep at a time. They had little respect for the Yanks had very few casualties compared to them. The Aussies saw some horrific torturing by the US troops.

Yeah not going to go there on your comments - Been there (almost 3 tours) know what happened so will steer this back to football - BTW most of the Aussies I knew over there were base camp dudes (means they never went to the bush). - In any event - looking forward to Sunday in the cold in Calgary - not sure how to predict the dang game. Going to be cold that's a given.

If you are in DaNang at the moment see if you can find anything about "China Beach" or a place called "Monkey Mountain" - I took in country R&R at China Beach when I was stationed at a fire base up on the Parrots Beak near the Cambodian boarder in 1969. Also had to do some work cleaning up the area around Monkey Mountain before the Air Force had a super secret installation going in  there.

so we know we will be facing the Stamps in WSF. we just need them to come down to Winnipeg. hopefully Leos will make that possible.

Would be nice but the only way that would be possible would be for the Stamps to forget where BC Place is and end up in Victoria! :)

  19. Here is How I See it

    Western Conference

Winnipeg at Calgary (WSF) - Calgary wins hands down.

Calgary at Saskatchewan (WF) - Calgary in a close one.

    Eastern Conference

Edmonton at Montreal (ESF) - Montreal in a close game.

Montreal at Hamilton (EF) - Hamilton wins easily

    Grey Cup

Hamilton over Calgary in a very close game.

At the beginning of the season many laughed at the riders for starting him... many made lots of jokes about Zak not being good enough anymore....   then Zak gets hurt again and the nasty comments kept flowing....  I understand in a nine team league this reusing of QB's is very visible as QB's take a step to the right and join a new team.....   it even so it still looks weird,   I don't think it helps much with ticket sales either..... probably why they lowered the stadium beer price to the bar price... .. ... it's gonna  be no fun listening to riderfans chuckling all winter over this....  I might have to suck it up and watch the game like do or die,  what's the best gin for watching the Bombers ?

instead of Gin I recommend prayer! Lots and Lots of steady prayer from kick off on!

I agree.  But I don't feel there are very many if any immature and insulting posters here.... and it made me think of some of them over at riderfans who are ridiculous.  So for a riderfans regular to come here and say that made me laugh.

Fair Enough - I post over on RiderFans.com but am very careful what I post as they do tend to be very sensitive etc. But heck at least Nasty Nate AKA Lyle.E.Style is no longer welcome there.
