  2. 2 year deals do nothing to increase their chances of employment. If you don't earn your last year's salary there is a good chance you will be replaced unless you are on one of these 3 year guaranteed money deals.
  3. We have 9 teams in this league. QB development is league wide. Maybe one or two legit QBs a year comes thru our entire league loop just because of the small size of our roster availability league wide and the scarcity of legit QBs. We can sit here and bemoan the lack of QB development but hell look around the NFL even, how many teams are developing their own other than teams that were lucky enough to draft franchise guys. Even then. This notion that we must develop our own QB is not the best strategy. Of course, we should try, but really in this league there is absolutely no shame in just signing the most ready guy that hits FA when the time comes. There are only a couple teams in our entire league who are riding QBs they brought in and developed.
  4. I would rather we sign Streveler and let him play on one leg than to sign Masoli and let him play on one leg.
  5. Teams that had success developing their own qbs? Edmonton developed Warren Moon in the late 70's. Then came a string of outstanding Eskimo qbs in the 80's starting with Matt Dunigan, Damon Allen & Tracy Ham. Calgary was known as a qb factory back in the 90's with Jeff Garcia, Dave Dickenson & Henry Burris all rookies who developed into starters. Then in the 2010's with Bo Levi Mitchell. They also developed Jake Maier who has had mixed success as a starter. In the 2000's, the BC Lions developed Casey Printers, Buck Pierce & Travis Lulay. In the early to mid 2010's the Argos found success with Zach Collaros, Trevor Harris & Cody Fajardo. Vernon Adams came into the CFL in 2016 with Montreal but moved around a lot. He played for the Riders in 2017. Then came back to the Als in 2018 where he played until the end of the 2022 season. Then two more seasons in BC during 2023 & 2024 before signing with the Stamps in 2025. I have no idea who really developed him. It seemed it was a joint CFL effort for him.
  6. Agree. But to develop one qb since Brock as a CFL starting qb (Dru Brown) then let him walk is bad. Extremely bad. I have zero expectations any qb they bring in will ever develop. They all end up coming & going.
  7. Is there a team in the CFL that is known for developing quarterbacks? It seems like more often than not the recipe for success is to pluck a backup off another team and then ride them until the wheels come off. What are the home grown QB success stories this century? Ricky Ray, Bo, Lulay, Rourke, Darian Durant? Seems more like lucking into a guy than any protracted strategy.

  10. There has to be something better we can get over something stupid and outdated as A&F (at least I can fit in the stuff at Torrid and Hot Topic.) Winnipeg Free PressAbercrombie & Fitch to open first Manitoba store in Polo...If Peter Havens has learned anything from two decades of managing shopping centres, it’s that malls reinvent themselves. “That’s really the name of the game in retail, is to keep it fresh,” said Haven
  11. One thing in the article made it sound like he got a job coaching QBs at his old college. I'm guessing that's the reason for the odd timing of his retirement.
  12. i mean our d would love playing him in scout team

  14. He must have used ChatGPT to see the projected depth chart where he was listed behind Darian Durant. Chase saw the writing on the wall and decided to hang them up.
  15. I learned to be skeptical of any young qb who came to the Bombers since Jim Krahn out of the University of Arizona. A supposed blue chip prospect he had it all physically. He was tall, athletic with a strong arm who could tuck it away & run if the pocket collapsed around him. Fans like me were excited. is this guy Dieter brock's heir apparent? I got caught up in the hype & was more excited to hopefully see Krohn get some playing time over Brock. Krohn's big problem as it is with a lot of American qbs was that he couldn't adjust to the Canadian game. He failed miserably. Krohn played part of one game in 1980. he attempted 17 passes & completed 10 & tossed one td pass. The problem was he threw 4 picks the other way. During the game, I remember he looked lost at times on the field. he'd be sacked, fumble or throw a pick at the worst possible time. Head Coach Ray Jauch never played Krohn again & was released after the season ended. The guy wound up playing in the USFL with Philadelphia & never distinguished himself there, either. After that disappointment & ever since I just yawn now when they bring in these young guys as 95% of them can't play in the CFL. We all know the Bombers record the past 30 seasons developing legit CFL starting qbs. Not very good.
  16. Told ya, these guys are totally replaceable. Every year they come & go. The only thing is the money wasted on their so called development & a roster spot. I learned a long time ago following the Bombers & the CFL that if they're unknowns signed for third string or PR roster positions then there's a good reason why no one's ever heard of them. They're replaceable as changing yesterday's dirty underwear. Artoepus got a job coaching high school qbs in his hometown & good for him. He was never going to see the field here & was probably the first qb who would have been cut. And we had posters here thinking he may be the next great one. Hopefully, Artoepus becomes a successful head coach & his time with the Bombers will be a footnote in his future career.
  17. I really like masoli, Id love him as an IR hide QB coach type. I don't think he has any thing left in real action. I thought zach was toast too though. Id happily bet my house on him being done though.
  18. Patrik Laine: Come on down to Laval, kid!
  19. I think that they could sneak in and get wooped by colorabi round 1 but at this point and looking at schedule after rangers game, lots of in division but also good teams. We struggle against good teams. Tough schedule. Hopefully finish bottom 10 and win a top 3 pick. All 3 of stenburg McKenna and verhoff would help eventually.
  20. Masoli would be the last guy I'd have out of that list. MBT would be my first choice. I'd also be good with Adams/Evans/Patterson... somebody with at least some CFL experience. Could also wait for someone getting cut in TC.
  21. What would be a reasonable expectation of fans toward Bomber Management and Scouting in having a serviceable QB2 in case ZC can’t ’get back out there’? I’m asking cuz I don’t know the answer, key word in the question being reasonable.
  22. We now have a complete cast TVLinePretty Little Liars' Shay Mitchell Joins Fox's Baywatch A...Shay Mitchell is hitting the beach: the former Pretty Little Liars star is the latest addition to Fox's Baywatch sequel series. See who else has been cast.
  23. Pull Dane Evans out of retirement. At least he knows our D. (He doesn’t like it…but he knows it.)
  24. Evans is a particularly sad case- talented, athletic but too often unable to cope.
  25. Masoli looked like he'd aged out really badly -- was a step behind everyone else on the field last year. Too bad because I think the guy's got guts and he gave us a game to remember in the 2021 Grey Cup, but Father Time is undefeated. When I saw Tyree Adams play, both before his injury and after, it didn't look like he was running the offence, it looked like he was running around. I am definitely not a QB coach, though.
  26. barring some unseen signing....I totally expect it to be ZC...Wilson and Perkins....how they manage the short yardage and who actually comes in with QB2 type packages/plays....yet to be determined, but i'd be shocked if it Is different QB's behind ZC
  27. Ya my initial thought on Masoli is the exact same as wbbfan... Love him "around" but not sure if ever want to see him on the field. He's been cooked and done for years now... But I love who he was back in the day and feel like maybe he has something to teach younger QBs. I don't remember Tyrie at all... But honestly at this point I think they're letting Wilson and the UFL guy battle it out for 2.
  28. Adams and Evans are the only two that make sense really. Decent enough with some potential to unlock still.
