  1. Past hour
  2. There’s also the reality that I see a lot of people on social media (not here) missing, which is that a lot of our veterans aren’t getting raises. I guarantee you Willie, Kyrie, Bryant, Neufeld, Eli, Castillo as a whole make less than they did last year. We also let go of some big ticket low impact players … Ceresna over Vaughters was less than $100k increase. Tim White over Dillon Mitchell was maybe a $50k cap increase. Jonathan Jones and Peyton Logan are gone and their cap hits were decent. Even Jake Thomas had a decent cap hit that is now off the books. We paid big money to Pokey, Holm, Lawson, Kramdi, Brady and some others but a lot of that went on the 2025 cap and a lot of it came from offsets elsewhere and that’s probably exactly why we were able to come out swinging on a guy like Broxton. It may not result in a return to the glory days (also, it may) but I can’t help but be impressed with what Walters has done with the cap so far.
  3. I wouldn’t be opposed to 4 American OL. They just couldn’t really go with 8 Canadians again then right? Starting 7 would be 1 OL, Olivera, 3 WR, Lawson, Kramdi, unless I’m forgetting someone.
  4. I think Perkins is probably the backup to Zach and honestly eventho he hasn’t played a cfl snap, I think he’s similar if not more talented than most current cfl backups. I’d take Perkins over ford for example. Maybe id sign Masoli as a qb coach tho or something like that just cuz but yeah im not sure there’s any back ups who have played snaps who are future starters. and the other guy, well he’s a Kent Austin fan so you know Kent has told him about the cfl. That dude looks like a solid blue chip young prospect Streveler had heart but If being honest we won a game with him throwing 10 passes and argument could be made we would have won by more if he threw 8 passes. 3 perhaps 4 American oline 3 guaranteed really but 4 is possible? I think the goal is to keep zachs jersey clean

  6. Well got my answer
  7. in that case it would be tremendous value for ott. he hasn’t, but he should be in the 200k range in this market. 150k a year for 2 years is peanuts for that guy.
  8. nah he’s locked up sadly nil money is no joke. Very very few will retire on that money, but it certainly slows down the flow of guys here. And leaves them far more comfortable sitting and waiting for chances at a pr spot. Cfl qb money for the young guys has to go up. It also hurts that a guy like rourke put up a huge season and barely got a sniff. It’s been a long time since the days of the cfl prouducing qbs like garcia flutie etc for the nfl. Or the nfl taking long looks at guys like dickie and burris.
  9. It'd be great for Elgersma to sign up here and start learning under Oshea and Collaros, potentially Zachs last season.
  10. NIL definitely isn't helping things here. The baseline for a power 4 QB has to be around 500K/yr for NIL at this point? Tough sell getting those guys to come up here for 2 years making peanuts just for a chance to be able to make almost as much as they made in college.
  11. Hope there's a couple more good news surprises.
  12. I think no QB signing because that kid they drafted is coming here. Time will tell. Walters had attitude in the pressor and had intent for change. I'm not surprised. I am happy we managed to land clear targets for us What a great start to feb
  13. Just curious, but Mace has only been a HC for 2 seasons. When did he throw players under the bus or develop a reputation for doing that? I don't recall any examples of players sbeing called out. I'm no Rider or Corey Mace fan but I can say that he developed the Riders into what the Bombers were 2019-22 with FIFO. Players love playing for him. The problem with being GC Champions is everybody wants to get paid. NOW. And they can't pay everyone. Plus for most players, money is the only true loyalty they'll ever understand. hence the endless one year contracts. They want to get paid. It has very little to do with loyalty.
  14. A meniscus tear is easily fixable unlike a ligament tear especially an ACL. The recovery time is a fgraction of the time for a meniscus. if everything heals properly with rehab Ceresna will be good to go come training camp. The Bombers slept thru ftree agency last season not seeming to care if anyone signed or left. I hope we never have an off season like that again. Looks like lesson learned. Is Nick Arbuckle a gfree agent?
  15. Oh no I agree...Osh has that effect for sure...i wont discredit that...but the organization does too and how we go about things ...group effort And yup...if he has learned when and where to cut the cord...we should be fine....I just want to see now a true TC and may the best win spots...and adjust ratio as need be
  16. Has to be. He has done nothing to deserve 300k annually unless Dinwiddie is just a terrible negotiator.
  17. That Eberhardt deal is total, not annually.
  18. That had a lot to do with our HC. Yes he became loyal to a fault, but it did help us retain our guys that mattered. I am sure you will disagree but look at Mace, cutthroat and it costed him. When players are treated like they are a commodity and nothing more, they return the favor. There are a few times that MOS took his lumps for being overly loyal and he needs to dial that back for sure, but guys still stick with him. Mace shouldn't have thrown players under the bus like he did at times. We criticize our coach for not speaking to the media about players, but the players appreciate that.
  19. Nothing in that organization breeds loyalty. Riders have taken a massive hit.
  20. Welcome back Kyle Walters. Finally addressing our trenches. A year too late but nothing can be done about that now.
  21. Though it makes sense when O'Shea said you should wanna win the Grey Cup every year no matter if you're hosting or not, it sounded like a big excuse at the same time.
  22. Yeah i agree i was thinking more setting aside the money to get him here..😊 gonna need time to groom the kid if he comes here.
  23. Micah Johnson, Carney, Baldonado from the dline, Reavis and Allen from the linebackers, Nield and Robustelli from the wr group and the back up QB, that's a lot of loss.
  24. What kills me is... wtf was thislats year. You know. Something. Something. Grey. Cup. Hosting. Something.
  25. I don't think Elgersma has anything to do with it... They brought in a bunch of Americans to compete. Even if TE was in camp, it's a stretch to expect him to be a #2.
