  2. Arbuckle has a calf strain, so Doege will start for the Argos this week against Als. Dinwiddie's ability to roll with a backup QB gets another test this week. https://3downnation.com/2025/09/16/toronto-argonauts-expected-to-start-qb-jarret-doege-against-montreal-alouettes-report/
  3. Today
  4. yup....That would just incur another brainwave decision to promote from within like the piss poor OC fiasco.... way less upheaval to the organization....
  5. You always say this....but you dont know that..You just assume Osh is this god at talent evaluation...and he isnt.....and has shown that yr over yr....You say nobody is better, but thats just your opinion too....where's the proof?...cause Dear Leader who has failed us 3 straight yrs hasnt gave them a shot?...You quick to throw all the blame on Walter's yet continue to give Osh a pass.... And again...other than CIS scouting Walter's does zippo with boots on the ground...none.... And in your other post...saying the likes of Woods..Adams and even Pointer who we cut...wouldnt offer us more than Schmeck..Thomas...Korn....then I guess you are "out to lunch"...your words not mine And T.Jones is better than J.Jones?...where's that proof? Before J.Jones got hurt...and T.O flipped ratio he was damn good...actually run stopper...guy who could get home on blitz and get sacks...3 yrs younger....better ST player...faster....better pro day numbers And if a coach realizes he's using sub par talent...yet refuses to ask for an influx....or try a PR guy or guy they hiding on the 1 game...how is that the fault of the G.M? We have a world of problems in several areas...dissconnect....a failing/failed process....stagnation....not the preferred destination anymore...likely from the latter....and the guy basically running the team and the day to day process, makes his roster...and is in charge of coaching....ain't gettin er done....and you have a hard time accepting it I used to praise Osh...when it was warranted....it's not so much now...so praise he won't get now unless he does something to re-earn it so obviously the "coach" see's no need...nobody else can shoulder that....christ he wont even use the guys that been here all yr...some for 2....like he's gonna insert a totally new body Osh as a G.M would be a colossal failure on soooo many levels history shows...in all sports....a Coach will go before a G.M 9 times outta 10 Unless the G.M shows total incompetence on several levels....Walter's hasnt shown that at all
  6. ....yeah ...lot's of movement in the league....here, right now, ....deadsville
  7. .....depends on who's on top.....
  8. Just to stir the pot and make it more unbearable for some around here, for arguments sake and discussion purposes, if ZC is a no go, Strev gets the nod to start at, let's say he's at 60/70% health because that will put us in a better spot to be successful than TW at 100% health. TW is going to back up CS against the RedBlacks and the only way TW gets into the game is short yardage and if CS gets hurt and can't return. If our offense falters with Strev at the helm and we don't employ TW because CS deserves to be out there because he's earned, he's earned the loyalty for him to work thru adversity plus he wasn't getting the support he needed plus it's been determined TW is not serviceable enough to run our offense and we lose our 4th straight game we are to look away from this not discuss the QB situation because it's just reality it's the best we have it's off limits and focus our energy on (fill in the blank). Yes? Oh and I hope CS lights it up, our oline crushes their dline BO gets 200 yards rushing our receivers have a hay day with their db's, our D plays lights out, our DB's and LB's clamp things down JT getting three sacks WJ with five knock downs and we win by a 100.
  9. The article TSN put up about Collaros dressing is embarassing. Makes me think they used AI given they have the place and time of the game, Strev's starter record this season and the riders record all wrong. Could be more mistakes as well.
  10. History says Coach goes before GM.
  11. Or even signing guys to future deals would be nice. Ottawa, for example, signed a QB a couple weeks ago so they could kick tires a bit, saw something they liked so they signed him to a futures deal for next season. They released him from the PR so now they can bring someone else in to take a look at - maybe for this year or maybe for next year. Either way, they aren't standing pat.
  12. In my memory, and in all pro sports, it is extremely rare for a new GM to retain the existing HC. I cannot see that working for the Bombers, nor can I see O'Shea as GM- that would set the team back 15 years.
  13. No GM worth a damn wants to be saddled with a head coach not of his choosing.
  14. I'd be worried if you get rid of Walters and not O'Shea, the only people who would be interested in the GM position would mean that O'Shea should be the defacto GM (if he doesn't get named that anyways). It seems like a lot of times, a GM gets brought in and he will want to do his hiring, and if you don't also get a new Coach you end up with a weird lame-duck period waiting for the incumbent coach to get fired and replaced.
  15. The Last Castle was one of the best movies ever made imo.
  16. There is absolutely no excuse for not trying to improve this lot. None.
  17. Adding some guys to our practice roster would be nice. Frustrating to see Walters sitting on his ass seemingly doing nothing.
  18. Osh as GM is a scary thought. What a disaster that would be. We'll be back in the dark 2013-15 era fast... dark times. But now that you said it, it is a considration I never thought would happen. Now, I can be prepared (shiver) if that happens. https://giphy.com/gifs/want-tjwzClJM6fyEw
  19. Robert Redford is gone at 89. Great actor. Just by watching his films he seemed like a geniunely nice guy & was the kind of actor who appealed to everyone. My favourite was All The President's Men. May Robert now Rest In Peace. https://media.tenor.com/X4H0T0VxgokAAAA1/robert-redford-robert.webp
  20. So explain why guys who were in camp are doing better than the departed Bridges.... that right there blows your entire argument out of the water.... cause those guys outperformed Bridges in camp too. You just refuse to admit that the coaches are fallible. It's OK. You know 2018ish I too was of the opinion that walters was more of an issue that Oshea, but Kyle Walters showed himself to be a proactive gm who could build a damn good roster whereas Oshea maintained his at times bonkers roster building and usage mindset. Given that we've also heard lots of rumors about walters leaving and Oshea being gm, is it a stretch to think oshea has a large say in players brought in these days? I dunno, I just know our roster usage is subpar and because of that issue it's really hard to judge what this team actually does have.
  21. Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, and Saskatchewan all signing players in the last couple of days trying to get better, BC brought in a few new bodies last week as well. Winnipeg is all status quo! 3-7 in our last 10 games and hosting the grey cup and zero sense of urgency to try something different when things aren’t working. At this point we’re a threat to not even make the playoffs in any capacity.
  22. Thank God, Strev completed the pass. Could you imagine if he one hopped it?
  23. Well, yes and no. All our starters are getting a free ride because they aren't getting their ass kicked by coaches, Hoiwever, the coaches are in a bad place because our depth sucks and the best motivator is playing time and we have garbage sitting behind almost every position on the field and all the players know it and are not fearing losing their jobs. Anyone who has coached this game knows that players without competition are hard to keep on track. If this wasn't a GC hosting year about the best thing that could happen is we just put the guys out there that will go the extra mile despite talent level, but that would likely result in worse losses than what we have. Backups are backups for a reason and there isn't enough talent behind some of our gross underperformers for heart and will to make up the difference. If we had the quality of depth that we should have guys could have/should have been sat down and made to earn their starting positions back by refocusing and winning it back. RIght now we have many starters that are in by default.
  24. Doesn't look planned but it looks like both the coaches and players recognized what was happening. This video (11:20 mark) shows one Hamilton defender briefly stop near Wheatfall and then keeps going towards the sideline (maybe thinking the other Ticat right behind him will be covering the receiver?). Once both guys are going past him, Wheatfall starts waving to Strevy, who also saw that Wheatfall was wide open. At the 11:30 mark, there's a sideline view showing Osh also trying to get Strevy's attention.
