  1. Past hour
  2. For sure. It drives us fans bananas…. Think of how it feels for the players that know they are better, yet continue to take a back seat to guys that are clearly inferior. Maddening.
  3. Well, this is what happens when you're the most successful franchise in the CFL but for some reason don't want to spend to th cap limit & blame the $400,000 shortfall on the CFLPA. The Bombers looked awful last night. I haven't seen such a putrid performance since the mid teens. Osh just seems in a cloud half the time. He refuses to use the new rules for Nationalized Americans to Canadians as he doesn't want to take the time to figure out the reps. He's designated the worst starting Canadian as our starting NG in a 3 man front or at RDT in a four man. Jake gets stood up, pushed back, turned inside & outside, can't see the play coming in his stance as he actually does hold his head up as it flops down. Otherwise he'd see the manufacturers tags in his chest plate of his shoulder pads. He still can't see. No moves just a straight bull rush. Yet, he starts at the expense of younger & more effective players. What's scary is Osh has some kind of warped coaches code that says he'll start him as long as he wants to play. So then, in 2036 at age 48, in he goes as the starter on his twinkletoes. Bridges was having trouble covering last night at his corner spot. If anyone says we don't miss Tyrell Ford at corner then they're lying. Two huge coverage busts in the secondary. Last week we had one as well but we got away with it. This time we paid dearly. That has to be cleaned up. But how do you clean up the secondary when the DL is a clusterfuck with Thomas in there? I was concerned letting Lawler go & keeping Schoen who really is still recovering from a bad knee injury. IF Schoen doesn't last the season, we're in huge trouble. We play Stearns but I don't get the reasoning as he really is a "nothing" receiver. Right now, we're the ninth best receiving corps in the CFL. Cl;ercius is allowed to shine but he's a posession receiver. We have one deep threat in Keric Wheatfall. Demski is still capable of making big plays but he isn't the same receiver he was 2-3 years ago. I was also concerned that Osh would do stupid Osh things with Streveler. And sure enough he never let me down. Streveler shows he can actually play qb in the CFL & when we're down in the 4th quarter & the game was out of reach last night, does he play Strev to give the guy some reps? Nope. Osh keeps Zach in the game. No doubt, Osh will say, "I never took Zach out as he gave us the best chance to win". Our head coach is dumber than a sack of jackhammers.
  4. Thanks for the sports update Mike, let's head over to Heather on what's up for the weather this weekend. 🙂
  5. Today
  6. O’Shea sucked, Zach sucked, Jake sucked, Willie sucked, Vaughters sucked, Parker sucked, Bridges sucked, Bonds sucked go us
  7. Excerpt taken from Steve Lambert Canadian Press quoting Wab Kinew: "It'll be really good for the documentary they make about the Winnipeg Jets winning the Stanley Cup." Now ain't that the truth 🙂
  8. I'm sure he and Younger are not saying we want more jake....Gimme some Jake and Korn I wonder if they are "supplied" with the guys Osh wants and have to make it work....appears to be
  9. I find it surprising that it wasn’t about money or term and the Jets would’ve exceeded the Carolina offer. Not sure I’m buying that. But whatever…. Good luck to you Nik.
  10. I wonder what Darrell Patterson says when breaking down the work of our D-line after four games behind office doors.
  11. Why? Parker has made a few plays but he hasn't been lights out by any stretch. He's also a big part of why the secondary has struggled (lack of communication, broken coverages etc). I honestly think he would be more effective (and look better) playing the corner next to Holm. I also recognize that it's still early in the season and we went through similar growing pains last year as a result of changes in the secondary.
  12. I was much more diplomatic than you in me calling him our number one freelancer but hammer meet head on your post here.
  13. On the idea on an airlift, they don't really happen anymore. Guys can make more sitting on NFL PRs which are expanded or are more willing to wait on injuries and getting another look if cut by the NFL. Name the last player who came in as an airlift (around Labour Day) from the NFL and made a difference to ANY CFL team.
  14. The positive mid season changes over the last many years seem to be done out of injuries and being forced to try someone new. What really puzzles me is that the few times that they have put in a new guy who showed promise... they immediately go back to plugging the spot back to the old player (Jake Thomas). It shouldn't take a season ending injury to make tweaks on a roster.....
  15. Vaughters works and there's definitely a role for the style of player he is on any team. Jefferson would not have survived into his 30's in basically any era right up until the one we are in now where everyone is a player's coach. The complete lack of effort about 90% of the time is inexcusable. Can be any time in the game and he's jogging at a QB looking like an old man trying to not get hit by a car while jaywalking as the QB goes right around him to the sideline and open space. He's the most egregious example of a guy who at best is a role player, and has been most of his career, who is basically given no leash and no accountability on this team. Doesn't really matter if he's a great guy. Is that the level of effort you want to see from a teammate? If he can watch himself play as he has the past couple seasons and not be absolutely embarrassed he must have zero self-awareness.
  16. negated by penalty hahaha
  17. Jake rolled into Adams injuring him. That was his tackle.
  18. Loved his heart...but couldn't stay healthy and was rarely a factor in the playoffs. Best of luck to you in Carolina.
  19. and who would blame them...and I can totally see it a few need to go...yup...others need to be in the back seat to fresh talent and become thatdepth...which would make us a way better tem all around...we have a lot of the pieces...we just using the wrong ones...or in wrong order...
  20. or....you cant go home
  21. pretty sure that if we dressed...and used legitimate inside players...Adams and Woods....or who ever and also incorporated another end...and played those said inside guys and rotational end all of Jakes reps....mening hit the PR or injured....would make a world of difference to Vaughters and WJ...Teams can easily neutralize them as it is, plus they bagged out throughout the game. They turned WJ loose in Grey Cup and we see what he can do....I'm almost certain they do not want him playing in a let loose fashion but more so to keep the qb in pocket and beat our secondary, thibking we have the dawgs in th middle to collapse and rush the passer...and we dont when we use certain sets You can see when its Lawson or Adams on the nose...or them together the pressure is breaking through and the results are night and day Then we go sets with Just Jake...Jake and Korn....and we get eaten alive...even when its Jake and Adams....Adams gets penetration still a lot of the time but .....even when double teamed, but Jake just gets stood up in place neutralized....pushed back...or spun around or to the side as the play goes by and just negates anything the other DT just did His sole skill is a straight push on some reps but rarely gets off his block, and when he does has nothing left to finish a play...or chase anyone down...let alone come back from behind l.o.s to make a tackle....how many times tho we see Adams...and Woods last yr do that tho....alot We either need to change or scheme a bit as we dont have....let me rephrase, choose not to use the guys up fron to make it work....or stick with the scheme and roster and PLAY the guys who can make it work...easily fixable if one puts his bias aside and further to that....works from a strength from inside out....strong center...strong/dominant nose and multi tech DT....You cooking with fire...we got the wort center in the league, and the worst "collective" group of interior dlineman in the lague bar none....Adams would start anywhere..as would Woods...thats why I said collective..Schmeck..Thomas...Korn...I have a hard time seeing any one of them cracking a roster...let alone getting reps they do here And then some wonder why our dline seems to get no push/pressure and at times our oline looks like rodeo barrels
  22. So true, that has not changed. Not controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball = be ready to take the L. One line of scrimmage controlled = we have ourselves a game. Both lines of scrimmage controlled = high fives all around.
  23. He's gonna start- good is another matter entirely.
  24. But the O-line is a lot closer to credible.
  25. It seems obvious to me that O'Shea is obsessed with filling the roster with linebackers because he is trying to relive his glory days. It's called displacement.
  26. I think that is an overstatement, but if we get a few more it will impact attendance for sure.
  27. Yup. And I have little to no confidence that this is coming under O'Shea's management. One more humiliation like last night and the fans will start staying away in droves.
