Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats GDT

Whose up for using all three Bombers qb's tonight. I'm giving Streveler a quarter and a bit to show something, if his passes are a mile wide or right at defenders or he is running right into tacklers then the Bombers need to put the hook out early. -

Streveler has one of the worst percentages of passes that end up as interceptions in the CFL. That does not inspire confidence. Plus I feel Hamilton feeds off the home crowd and the Win It For Ted energy. Signed Rebus "Doom and Gloom" Rankin -

I am not expecting much from this game to be honest. We likely get steamrolled. -

Curious why this should piss fans off? The whole point of free agency was to give more players autonomy in where they live and play. I say this as a huge Jets fan knowing this is a big disadvantage for the team, but if he wants to sign somewhere for less money, its his choice. If I were to make an argument on why he might sign in Florida for significantly less Warm climate Competitive team Can sign for less but still make the same on net salary because of lower taxes, which also lets the team remain more competitive Should the tax advantage Florida has piss me off as a fan? Maybe. But life ain't fair in any capacity. Not worth getting pissed off about in my mind.

The $100K per point is a good guideline, but was based on when the cap was flat at $80 million during the COVID years. Extrapolating for the current increase, it works out now to $110,000 per point last year, and $120,000 per point this year. So a 100 point player should clock in at $12 million per year. By 2027-28 and the projected cap increase to $113.5 million per team, it would be just over $140,000 per point, so last year’s $10 million/year player would warrant $14 million/year in the next 3 years.

Closest thing to that happening was Jeff Hecht getting replaced by BA, but even then BA was in his 3rd year and had been playing a different position and Hecht wasn’t cut, just benched. I can’t think of another time in season. - Today

Who else should he be looking out for? This thread is full of comments chastising MOS for clearly not caring about player safety for a career that can be incredibly short anyway...so really if you're not looking out for yourself and the best interest of you/your family who's gonna do it for you? -
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/feedback-changes-winnipeg-transit-september-1.7631172 I get there are those that are having difficulties especially students. I really hope that they decide to freeze the price in the new year or lower the the price a bit to make up for it I've been having smooth rides under the new transit, I wish that transit would make it easier to go to the Kenaston area

Could be fake. And if he wants out, I don’t see him looking at a Winnipeg (contender with similar weather) as an option. I will say that with the cap rising to $113.5 million within the next 3 years or so, $16 million is absolutely on the table for Kaprizov. He is quite arguably more important to Minnesota than any other single player is to their respective team in the entire NHL. Right now the maximum cap hit for a player is $17.6 million (20% of the team cap) and is likely to go up to $19.1 million by the end of this year, and $22.6 million by 2027-28. Kaprizov may want out, he may want a shorter term so he can re-negotiate once the cap ceiling going up, or he may be waiting for McDavid to set the market when he signs. Seems greedy on the face of it, but he holds the cards here and has a justifiable reason (from a player’s standpoint, not from a fan’s standpoint) to seek max dollars and rationalize turning down the $16 million per right now. Will be interesting to follow and see how this plays out. Now if he goes to Florida for $12-13 million a year for 7-8 years on a sign and trade, THEN we can all be rightly pissed off as fans.

when have we seen with this current management/coaching group a vet guy cut for a young guy/new guy that was shocking?? I cannot think of 1. Happens elsewhere...or a guy gets pushed into a backup role thats how we got T.jones for example...cause Edm saw the potential and upside in a rookie....so cut him...how that work out...R.O.Y or something? -
THIS buddy buddy relationship with G.M and HC was bad bad bad right from the get go....just took a lil but to manifest walter also doesn't force him to play hurt guys.... yeah....he is legit....like I said...go watch games of his in T.O....HE also immediately made T.Jones play better that\s bare minimum....and really....this yr we should have been chasing our 6th win in a row....thats the nutkick of all this
-
Honestly at minimum playing the best roster available would have gotten us 3 cups in 5 tries rather than 2.
-
I think we all agree for most part...6 of this...half dozen of that RThere are issues...and for most part self inflicted with either stubbornness...neglect...lack of awareness....ineptitude??....but things have to be corrected fast, and if that means that hanges is in order cause of the stubborness and yes...personal bias then so be it I also believe that yes...we have guys in house if given the chance can be effective....and we wont know until given said chance...these last 6 games should be used as such to get jump on 2026....because if some of what we have now is not worthy...may as well find out now and be further ahead for TC
-
Then one game Jones got substantial playing time was probably the best defensive performance of the year...
-
There are other issues with his decision making that have nothing to do with Walters or recruitment. His decision, for example, to refuse to use the DA rule is baffling - like why would you handicap yourself and your team because you don't like a rule?

How the heck would you know if the newbies do not have a decent chance to get game experience?

The new gm, has to be authoritative. If that happens, they can force the HC to change and grow. I don't think you can burn it all down and compete next year, or maybe even the following year. Where our franchise is now, I think being a strong steady play off team but not the front runner is good. I don't think the fans who've jumped on board since 19 will stomach a return to the bottom. We have already bleed out from teh bottom up. Most of our front office and half our coaching staff has been replaced. It's really walters and mos at this point that are long term hold overs. Guys like danny don't have a ton of time in the room, and Hall has been semi retired for a long while now.
