All 3 not named Lawson are if ranked probably the 3 worst national DTs in the league...there's that too...and if a dt is not required for ratio..which it isn't then the smarter move to have your best defence is to give the imports the majority of the reps and figure out the most impactful and versatile Those 3...are not making any cfl roster other than ours...and that's not a good thing

Yeah, he brings a ton to camp. Ideal 3tech type guy up here, if he can turn into a decent pass rusher from the 3. His weak punch knock will be offset by playing against Canadian guards. Hes also a guy that could likely play 4i in the 30 front. Hes got similar physical size and tool set to Casey Sayles. Isn’t as polished as a pass rusher but much better in run d.

I love shmekels motor and willingness to contribute. Nice utility too. But man, he doesn’t turn that into any thing in play on dl. I’d convert him to a ol. Hes a last Canadian on the roster guy, and kornelson looks like a tc body to me.

Pretty good stats for a DT coming out of the ACC, looks like he was a team captain in 2024 as well. Really good looking prospect, got the right body type for a CFL DT imo.

I think Joannies mom was actually at the olympics with her like her and Joannie were together when she died. Mark was in Dallas. His dad was in Ontario. Regardless tho, I think the comparison is fair cuz I think of Joannie as a Canadian icon and 55 is a Jets icon.

Bombers sign Kevin pointer out of wake forest. (Vegas rookie camp this year) 6’1 285lbs dt. He’s a fast for his size, very high motor 3 tech who is a tackling machine. Not a nose or a big pass rusher though he projects much better as a pass rusher here than down south.

That makes sense. Honestly though I don't think either Shcmekel or Kornelson is good enough to be in a regular rotation.

My different take on that. We're not sure when Lawson will be back and Thomas proved he's our most durable DL and knows Younger/Hall system the most. So, why not give most of the reps to Schmekel and Kornelson?

I take it as a good thing. Dude stuck around on the PR all last season. He seems like maybe he needed time to learn but who knows so if he’s the guy he’s the guy but gotta do it on game day not just practice. The pre season will determine who starts at receiver I’m sure. Cuz right now I’d take what they are saying with a grain of salt tho. Does appear to be some openings at receiver tho. May the best man or men win.

Can’t say Jets didn’t have their chances. Thought they were the better team in the game honestly just a tough break going into OT. That was tough watching 55 in the box with his head down. You could tell at that moment he was hurting. Gotta enjoy the Helle and Scheifele hug tho. That seemed like 2 really good friends having a moment. Helles dad was close with Scheifeles. Next year Mark. Hopefully without tragedy and suspect reffing in a couple/all of the games and a full healthy roster. And I’m not gonna say they lost because of reffing. That was a legit call there but i go back to game 3 and the kicked in goal. I’d love to see a series where refs maybe don’t decide the outcome. Well if he has stepped up and progressed that's nothing but a good thing as a second yr in system guy...u could see last yr he had a huge learning curve about CFL game...and I was/am less than inspired in who we brought in to replace Lawler...Wilson...Drew and unknown in Schoen...it's a weak group save for Demski and Clercius coming back...a butt load of hopium in 2..or 3 guys Is camp running tomorrow. Looking to pop in as have some free time

Amazing season. Division title, President’s Trophy. Thrilling win for the ages over the Blues. Frankly played the Stars even if not outplayed them if you look at the series as a whole. Just too much adversity to overcome, not enough puck luck, and just enough missed opportunities to make the difference. Now we’ll hear the injury report that Morrissey likely playing with a busted shoulder and now torn knee ligaments. Scheifele playing with a concussion. Valardi a back or shoulder injury that never healed. Ehlers coming off a broken leg and not 100%. And I’d wager a bunch more we don’t know about (Schoen, Gus, Stanley, maybe Connor). Loss stings now, but what a tremendous year.

It was a tripping call at minimum and probably should have been a penalty shot. It was clear cut.
