  1. Past hour
  2. the asterisk to that is, they need to have or get a top tier or fringe top tier qb, and they need to get lucky or do a historic job of fixing canadian talent and their ol. We hit mop zach, and had built an insane stock pile of ni talent / ol for about 3 years. That’s why teams like montreal, toronto, and calgary have changed their fates quickly. And why it took soo long for hamilton, ssk and ottawa to rebuild. As that applies to us, we have the stock pile of canadian assets and imo half the ol. We have the ability to cut salary and add significant talent to our biggest needs like 1-2 ol. Qb is the biggest question mark roster wise. Zach could do any thing next year. He’s the least reliable qb in the league over the past 2 seasons. We also have the most question marks in the front office and coaching staff.
  3. They often played on Saturday afternoons. Good background diversion whilst tackling the marking pile.
  4. Yeah, a big LapNo for me.
  5. Today
  6. Absolutely this. Never again.
  7. It's pretty bad. We don't have a single OL I'd rate as "good." Canadian depth on O is basically a 29 year old tailback and a 32 year old receiver. We're winning right now by 1 of 3 ways or a combination: elite special teams/D turning ball over or scoring points and basically shutting teams out, Collaros playing unconscious. We don't have anything consistent on O going on almost 3 full seasons. Our D is also crazy inconsistent.
  8. The trouble is that we're old at positions that are difficult to recruit for. Our best OL is ancient. Our best Canadian receiver -- our best receiver period -- is on the wrong side of 30 and has had significant injuries two out of the past three years. Our best Canadian OL, Neuf, will be 37 next season. worst of all, Zach is 37 and he is probably our best option at QB next year. Who else is out there? Taylor Powell might be a good FA signing, but he's been moldering on the bench for two years now. Maybe Brown could come home in a trade? I'm not in a position to judge our pipeline but it seems like our pipeline will need to do some good work or we're going to drop from the middle tier of the CFL to the bottom tier next year.
  9. I was looking at the 2021 CFL all stars. The Bombers dominated the west with 15 (4 this year for comparison) and the thing that is really crazy is we had 6 out of the 9 available spots on the O-Line and D-Line, and not a single player this year in either of those positions btw, it all starts with the complete overhaul in the trenches, to me there’s not a single starter that should feel 100 percent safe on both sides of the line except in my opinion Cam Lawson.
  10. The same wilful blindness and stubbornness that O'Shea used to create this current mess will not allow him to acknowledge it or change his M.O. Sad to say, the longer it takes for a definitive statement about the GM and HC positions, the more probable that there will be no change. That would be a huge mistake and will be reflected in the efforts and successes of the players in 2026.
  11. Am not advocating for LaPolice, but he may have learned from his experiences. As an example, Paul Maurice was quite open in saying that his past bad experiences as head coach in Toronto, Carolina and Winnipeg made him a better coach for the Panthers.
  12. I don't necessarily think it's as bad as all that. Needs some significant tweaks but they're not like they were when oshea started.
  13. What's wrong with duct tape? Its the handyman's secret weapon.
  14. That’s just it. When the team was at its best, they had 2 very good co-ordinators and no less than 3 all star/HOF level players on each side of the ball, all around their prime. (Biggie, WJ, BA, Jeffcoat on D. Andrew, Yoshi, Bryant, Lawler on O) The team was primarily built through FA, with a lot of Ringmaiden-era holdovers making up the bulk of rest of the roster. MOS has a lot of faults right now but really, unless the personnel department hits a bunch of home runs, it’s going to be a couple rough years no matter who’s coaching. This is key as well, they screwed around soo much last offseason.
  15. I don’t necessarily think that’s entirely fair to say. It’s going to be a long road back personnel wise before any coach (O’Shea included) has success here. Despite what O’Shea thinks, we need a total overhaul. The roster is ancient and being held together with duct tape and chewed gum.
  16. Why would anybody want LaPo again? Seen that movie here and it was not great and the sequel in Ottawa was worse.
  17. Hey we all have our quirks.
  18. From what Dinwiddie said at his presser, he was already doing a lot of GM duties in Toronto because MLSE is cheap and ran a lean front office. He actually expects his workload to lighten in Ottawa because Burke will still be doing a lot of the GM stuff (like contract negotiations). Dinwiddie made it clear to MLSE earlier that he wanted to be HC/GM but they were happy keeping Pinball in the GM role so that's what prompted the move to Ottawa.
  19. In the CFL a full team can be fixed within 1 season. When a team lacks in only a few areas then it is much easier.
  20. Maybe he moves on from Crum and then we sign him to replace Strev?
  21. we really should have made a statement the week following the playoff exit...id we dont make it the week following the Cup....We can expect more the same.....missing out on some quality coaching prospects....some for sure player exodus...the ones we dont wanna see exit...and a sad vet laden lineup with aged out guys...Osh fav's and loyalists and a team with minimal depth, and no desire to integrst new blood in...unless forced to with injury...hate to be a debbie downer but you can almost book it I will gladly eat crow....pile of used sweatsocks...whatever....but until proven otherwise....Can't see it...and havnt been far off the mark on the prediction i started drumming after the 2023 joke of a Grey Cup and season end
  22. and smart organizations....dont make shifts when everything is already in the dumpster and may take yrs to get out of This has been a 3...now 4 yr degredation and no deviating really from the root cause, or the common issues/concerns that have led to the quick decline....If the band-aid needs to be ripped off and allow the heaing to happen then some of it needs to be done now....and similar issues or decline next...then G.M is next in cross hairs Players arent happy....some....the ones who know they safe due to recent history will chime in they want the band all back together...When your hometown star...bell cow RB nad face o team is saying show me you serious here or I am outta here...thats a huge red flag...And be clear....he's not the only one feeling this....just the one who was out front and frank about it...if you were watching and listening since last cup loss, and this yr...others have alluded to it...without pout right saying it 5 cup appearances...with the 2 wins eons ago now in the sports world but a constant slide in the wrong direction....and stubborn stupidity/blindness to it....but a lot of excuses....well the good will has long dried up saying...and actually doing tho...2 different things.....and history shows us he set in his ideal and ways...and why risk it with an extension only to maybe have to can him a yr into it and be on the hook for his salary...further delaying and hindering any quick turn around....just not worth the risk...I can see your point...But he has had ...2...3 yrs to turn it around....instead he has almost drove it into the dirt
  23. Oh I agree. I’d give Osh the extension based on willingness to change and move on from some players and maybe coaches.
  24. That's pretty much what most people here are saying. If MOS is not willing/able to make those much needed decisions, then like it or not, we need to part ways. If he can do that though, he should be brought back ang given an opportunity to right the ship. But I would be having that conversation before any extension is given.
  25. Plus lions vs tigers. That’s fun. I’m not a ticat fan, I hate them honestly but it be ok to see them break their streak in our stadium. Plus the Ted Goveia story and connection to Winnipeg is I think a nice thing. Sometimes the world needs nice stories. That’s probably the best one they could hope for.
  26. I mean I’m fine with that. He’s the head coach. I just think 9 straight playoff appearances 5 straight cups and the first time it’s like no cup final it’s time to move on is a bit premature. I think O’Shea actually deserves to be here. Kyle or the GM tho needs to put their foot down a bit and not sign guys past their prime. It’s that simple. If Osh doesn’t want to move on from Jake kola Willie Neufeld Stan etc then you either move on from O’Shea or you don’t sign the players to contracts or you release them because it’s football. The goal should be winning. And that means making the “tough” easy decisions. If it’s not to O’Shea anymore then ok time to move on. But I’d give him an extension and tell him it’s time for change. Cuz they ain’t getting any younger. That leash would be short tho. Much shorter than it has been. in the cfl you need an OL a DL and a QB. Zach stays but takes a 100k pay cut. Streveler is done. Wilson has shown less than guys who been around 3 months. Artopoeous can be brought back to compete. probably can’t fully fix the OL and DL in 1 season but, maybe. Vanterpool, Wallace, American, Canadian, Randolph. DL could be rebuilt using Americans instead of the Jake’s and less than Jake’s on our DL. Maybe Neufeld can move to center or Vibert or trade for one really. But that’s gotta be a priority.
  27. Not saying Dinwiddie isn’t a great coach but gm also is interesting. Good luck to RD tho. Wonder if we see sone interesting changes in ottawa. Not if actually but how many. I think lapolice is the obvious choice maybe with Khari as OC and maybe grab a Montreal assistant as DC. If Osh leaves.
