  1. Past hour
  2. Saw this too. https://thebeercanwpg.com/upcoming/banjo-bowl-bus Nice outdoor beer garden and bus to the game, not a far walk from downtown.
  3. Yep. For ages, other teams busted us on looks like that. Going back to ricky ray in edmonton. Vaughn used to cut us up any time we blitzed. It's funny, we are soo conservative with route concepts, trying to keep passes in safe, easy places that zach just takes shots on his own into worse postions any way. Imagine Demski on a slant at the seam behind the second level when a team blitzes us. He's hard to tackle for box players with a head of steam. Good luck to the halfs and S.
  4. I don’t find it to be overly sketchy outside the ALT most nights. I mean I’ve never stayed over night downtown in my own city but I find they light it up real good there and that keeps the trouble away. Portage is pretty quiet at night honestly. The one time we came home from a party on young at about 4am and walked down town it was dead. Like it looked like a ghost town. Most the problems are closer to Higgins and that area now. Higgins and main. Also near the Winnipeg regional health authority building on main. Look down the alleys next time. It’s crazy. ALT is pretty well lit and they tend to do a good job keeping the “trash” away.
  5. This….. This drives me absolutely bananas.
  6. I like Demski this week also.
  7. I play golf and regularly shoot in the 80s if I play 18. High 80s but still.
  8. Hope you have fun until kickoff. The Alt hotel is smack dab in the middle of downtown. It'll be sketchy outside. I'm not trying to scare you, just use common sense and be cautious if you're spending time out there.
  9. Today
  10. The amount of times I think to myself....Get on a body!! with him is crazy. Just block someone...anyone. I get that you'll be left on an island occasionally. But there's no way it happens as often as it appears to. Like he just doesn't hit anyone way too often. I don't know a lot about OL play at that level. But I do know they should be engaged every play. It's a saying for a reason. TSN particularly loves to crown champions in July. Way more often it's the teams that get hot in OCT that end up lifting the cup. Our 2021 year was the exception not the rule. It's not often teams will dominate start to finish throughout an entire season. I get what you're saying though. Losing any game hurts eventually. You're digging yourself a hole. But adversity builds character yadda yadda yadda....all that stuff
  11. Sure. But in the fall/winter, the running game becomes more important and the football is more physical. All I'm saying is, I'd like to see them play the best players in the trenches. And yeah, do that in summer too.
  12. real football starts in game 1.....those games we pissed away and did stupid stuff have more or less created a situation that even if we dont pretty much run the table we wont be getting first, and possibly not eve a home WSF game This notion people like to yammer on about the season doesn't start until labor day is a pile of crap If anything getting the jump on teams early, and creating space is the better course of action, then you don't have to rely on 6 to 8 game win streak to cement your spot...especially when later in the yr injuries pile up and a good portion of your roster isnt healthy anymore, but you are forced to play them anyway basically ensuring you have a whack of walking wounded when it matters most in playoffs...and we have first hand experience last 3 cups on how that's effected us....we had some who were not even walking basically
  13. Worth noting as well we haven't won the big game since he's taken over as starting C.
  14. His post snap awareness if not engaged right out of snap with a Nose or DT is shockingly bad...actually non-existence I have never seen a center past H.S level be so lost, and coupled with that lack any real exceptional physical traits/techniques Yet there he is...game in and game out...how/why we habnt done anything the last 2 yrs at minimum to upgrade there, or try pretty much anyone on our roster is baffling But then again not surprising seeing how our coach leans on and thinks vets who been around this team a while, and ones he apparently has a bias/like for is the way to go until they either walk away, or get hurt so bad they cant play...cause we have also seen he will play a knicked up favorite and even an almost physically unable to do the job favorite over a new guy...hence the situ we have slowly degraded into
  15. Precisely. Now that real football is starting, I hope we see some changes. I mean, the OL was blowing people up early in the season.
  16. The worst starting centre I've seen at a d1 level or higher for probably 20 years. Then add in this year he has the yips on a good 5+ snaps agame.
  17. https://tvline.com/lists/dancing-with-the-stars-season-34-cast-full-list-dwts/ Well at least there's people I've heard of this season surprised Feldman didn't do it sooner Lindsay Lohan's parent trap has gotten a spike in interest lately hasn't it but they made it clear they don't want to make a sequel (why bother?)
  18. It's no coincidence that our offense looked best at the start of the year with: Bryant - Vanterpool - Kolankowski - Neufeld - Randolph. Every other combination they've tried has looked progressively worse. Wallace, for all the raw tools he has, was exposed in a big way last game and it doesn't help that he's playing next to probably one of the weakest (if not weakest) center's in the league.
  19. Playing the best possible OL, would a long way towards making this season respectable.
  20. yep i was just mentioning that in the other thread. teams cue off our izr/tire scheme very quickly. occasionally we will throw out a heavy set and run some power scheme, or maybe 5 times a year throw some thing like a counter/ counter trap, or maybe a sweep. Inside zone, outside zone, and wide zone all work off each other and take advantage of defensive adjustments soo well. they crash inside you run wide zone to use the Ds aggressiveness to take inside leverage against them grab out side position and bust big gains. when they start chasing to the sidelines you run outside zone and let them get side line pursuit angles then cut back to a wall of blockers. You can also use the jet motion for split zone, and run mid zone to exploit the D and break wide or tite zones with more multiple aiming points from the back in stretch or drive aiming and open cut back lanes. We have the back to add complexity to the run scheme and the ol coach. if we put vanterpool back in we have a much better ol to take advantage of.
  21. on top of that, none of our guys have experience learning or working in an rpo system. buck and suck learned from lapo, who imitated from game film. but none of them has the experience to understand the nuance of how to read the target, how to disguise the act of reading and blend it with normal plays, or even the mechanics of pull to release. at a pro level, rpo is really demanding. you have to recognize the slight difference in defender angles and exploit it quickly. There’s a great video on yt about peyton manning and how much work he put in to his mechanics on play action, stretch and other hand off techniques. Defences are better than ever at picking up cues from offense. It’s similar to how we never managed to evolve as a zone run, spread to run team beyond tight/izr. you go back to chip kellys years in oregon and soo many others and you see new wrinkles and evolution each year.
  22. That’s FOOTBALL 🏈 weather! 👍🏻
