  1. Past hour
  2. there were only two series in the 1967 playoffs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1967_Stanley_Cup_playoffs There were three series in 1932: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1931–32_NHL_season
  3. Today
  4. That doesn't quite make sense considering the Leafs won the cup in 1967
  5. Sure but here is who he is competing with: Jamaal Pritchett 5'8 Xavier Gipson 5'9 Dymere Miller 5'11 Malachi Corley 5'11 Arian Smith 6'0 Pokey Wilson 6'0 Brandon Smith 6'1 Tyler Johnson 6'1 Irvin Charles 6'4 Quentin Skinner 6'5
  6. How fun would it have been if we had met the Panthers in the finals this year? Ahh PM you wanted us to win the Cup, remember?
  7. which was my point. We are just going in circles now.
  8. I would think there is a high probability he returns late in the season. His size works against him in the NFL imo. He doesn't flash any kind of outstanding testing numbers and is small. He will get a look based on his resume here, but in the NFL guys his size and speed rarely get any kind of a real look. There is a very real chance he doesn't even make it to camp. If he does, he will need luck on his side to make it past first cuts. Sorry...but 6 foot 175 lbs is very small for the NFL.
  9. Not sure what thread this fits in, but the Bombers bringing in the Trews for the Home Opener Half Time Show. Frig I love those guys... Gonna be a hell of a time.
  10. YEAH there is that too....as I was alluding to I bet teams...even player would be leary...also....NFL teams would want a say on the field it's played on...inspect/approve of playing surface...etc....If I was a big money player I wouldn't risk it...maybe some fringers might....but even they would be risking a lot Guys train hard and never take breaks now either...hence why you see so many non-contact injuries now...Ligaments and tendons unlike a muscle need time to heal/recoup...they dont grow in size/strength like a muscle does with constant use...much the oppositr...they are what they are and dont change until you obliterate one...or have a surgically repaired one...either by graft from your own body, or a synthetic...They used to do cadaver hosts to fix them at one point, but then was discovered if the host had a genetic issue or history in family of cancer...or other disease it could manifest at some point in the athlete that got the donor ligament/tendon...go figure eh> Thats why u see a ton of NBA injuries too know....no rest ever...fast paced moving...
  11. Lord knows the Jets are in no position to cut people too.
  12. Booch you might be able to answer this - I saw someone say the risk of soft tissue/ligament injuries is heightened with flag football because the speed of the game would change so much. Is there any truth to that?
  13. I love Pho,will have to check it out.
  14. Agreed. Dude was a pretty good college player also. I think he might make the Jets.
  15. By all means. Just know that he probably didn’t care.
  16. NYJ could be the perfect spot for Pokey, outside of Garrett Wilson they don't have much at receiver. Lots of later draft picks and undrafted players competing for depth spots and maybe even a starting spot. Being only 25 years old I wouldn't be surprised if he got a PR offer at least. He will probably show well at camp and maybe make a big grab or two in the preseason. I wouldn't count on him coming back this season at all.
  17. Yeah I not sure tho how team owners are gonna be toward letting their stars go tho...be interesting to see for sure....and seeing how the b.s thats going on down south is right now....maybe many countries are gonna boycott it anyway unless some serious shift happens
  18. NFL has said they will allow players to go. But you may be right. Though I bet a few of the NFL stars might see this as their "dream team" moment. I'm honestly interested to see how Americas roster breaks down. Flag is a very different game. Lamar might be the best option.
  19. I think the risk to get hurt...while not being paid....that you wont see any pro's going....or not many....in either league...and what team would be o.k with their meal ticket going to the olympics and possibly getting a season ender?
  20. He signed a basic 1 yr deal from my understanding....no upfront money....which is essentially a camp invite. He wont make a dime of that until and if he makes the team...which based on his deal and lack of bonus....he's a longshot If he let go...and then is floating around looking/waiting for a PR spot...again he wont be earning anything unless on a PR for a game week. He could realistically be cut quite early, or given all camp to prove himself...then cut....I bet we see him sooner than later into our season
  21. Would be late season if he does. NFL final cuts are week leading up to Labour Day.
  22. Can anyone provide info on Pokey Wilson? Specifically, what kind of contract he signed in the NFL, and whether he can realistically be seen as returning to the BB this season?
  23. Fun question from Jamie Nye....which I think the answer is obvious but curious as to what others think. With Flag football in the Olympics. Should the CFL postpone the season to let players go. I think it's a no brainer that the season should NOT be postponed at all. Not only for financial reasons but I don't think many CFLers will make the Olympic roster. But when you take into account the flag roster size (not sure what it is, but won't be too big...maybe 20?...Edit...I looked it up....it's 10) and the amount of CNDs in the NFL that will also be competing to play. How many star Canadians does the CFL lose for those weeks?
  24. True....he is also one of the worst for overlooking everything but what he sees on the field as well. Double whammy. He is too willing to overlook character to get the talent he thinks will fit. He is kind of the anti-O'Shea.
  25. I agree. The level of athletes that roam the CFL now make it very difficult for guys to jump in and just have immediate success. Of course, there will be a few rookies a year in the league that catch on quick., but at the skill positions it takes time. Last year we had to throw rookies into the mix at receiver due to injuries and it hurt our offence for the first few games. Wilson eventually emerged as a bonafide CFL star, but only after a few rough outings. Some teams may have guys like this, but will groom them if they have that luxury. We would have if Schoen and Lawler weren't out early last year.
