yeah, the Riders were both lucky and good yesterday, but I think they were more lucky. Montreal oopsies were a 3 TD swing in the game. still, a pretty entertaining game .. a B or B- on the Grey Cup curve ... and was impressed to see Alexander allllmost gut out a 3-score comeback with one leg.

This was my thought once I heard they were coming back. But nix the part of free agents. They need to go. Re:two year deals. My personal opinion is that they have 1 year to fix the mess. And the remaining 2 to be back at the top.

I think we will have a bit of improvement at the beginning of next year followed by a descent back to the same old, same old. Forced compliance rarel;y produces transformation, and O'Shea will see his 3 year contract as a validation of his modus operandi.

One thing that the commish said this past week that I'm excited about is he really wants to make FA Day a bigger deal. More excitement (similar to th NHL). Hopefully he can get TSN to get behind that... We need more offseason stuff to keep the passive fans engaged. For me personally, I'm not that big of a hockey fan, so the offseason is long. Ice fishing and curling are all I have to get me through, and in Alberta that's ******* depressing.....

I look forward to irrationally getting excited about anyone we sign in FA and all our draft picks.

For me, I expect to be looking forward to individual development. Seeing some young guys take the next steps and maybe move up to an all star level.

I think what he meant was "high up-side" players... and there certainly were some that didn't (or took forever to) get a fair look... For example Shay, Smith, Cam Allen, Woodbey, Munier-Bailey, Jawarski, Jenkins,... I know those last two were added late but showed enough that one should've been rostered for the playoff game... flip the ratio to reinforce the OL... instead of vets having their spots carved in stone (to steal a saying someone else used here)... there should be a competition and let the best players play... and if the team isn't good enough... start bringing in reinforcements, until the team is good enough The riders started 4 Canadian receivers and 4 American OL last night... they adjusted their ratio to give them the best chance... they weren't sporting the best receiving group you can imagine... but Trevor Harris had time for a coffee break after every snap and had no problem distributing the ball... why not both??

You thought the kelly and reinbold etc teams were going to get good? I kind of envy that. Free agency/coaching staff announcements will be the huge factor in me being able to find any optimism.

You’re right, looking at reporting, it seems the initial report is always 1 year extension, then more details come out later. Odd. A 3 year deal in the cfl, is probably the most job security you can find in football. The coaching cap basically makes you untouchable for 2 years and even then likely only able to be replaced with an in house temp for the final year. Why would they fire him? Mos defended him at year end, and the mafia just got a long term lock up. mos/mafia don’t want change, and now likely won’t make significant changes. Do you, or any one else had any hope that this will actually happen?

They're all friends. Bringing them all back just proves that. Nothing will change. I'd love to be optimistic but I find these two signings give me nothing but pessimism.

I agree and that's why he has to be taken to task by Miller IF we see the same thing unfolding in 26'...O'Sh has always struck me as a guy who could have narrow vision and not accept input from anyone else, seeing that as a weakness....He has to learn to be more pliable when it comes to roster management or we could end up with the same failed result as this season.....AND further to that we could see empty seats at the Princess and that doesn't bode well for anybody....We want to see a winner ...We know the 2 guys who have been given 3 year deals have the ability...they've proven that ...We just have to get back to the things that made us a winner ...Hopefully the faith given to Walters and O'Shea results in just that....a return to the winner circle
