May 18, 20169 yr http://www.reginarevitalization.ca/stadiumcam/ Looks to be at least 75% completed. It's a lot higher than IGF because one end zone has no seats. Also looks like if they want they could add another 10-15,000 permanent seats to bring capacity up to about 45-48,000.

May 19, 20169 yr No doubt it will be a very nice looking stadium, hope they lose more games than they win in there and we win every game we play there.
May 19, 20169 yr Is the field at grade as opposed to below ground like at IGF? Seems very high. And will they be enclosing the other end zone with seats? If not, it seems rather odd...

If not, it seems rather odd... Not for the original build but it will be expandable down the road if they want to increase capacity. The seats between the goal lines get the highest prices, so if they can fill more of their current attendance in that area, they make more money.
May 19, 20169 yr If the build went according to plan, the field is sunk into the ground deeper than IGF. Access is at ground level, instead of the stairs and ramps at IGF. It is a complete bowl configuration, the end zone that can't be seen from the construction cam contains seating. Also a tiered party deck...which will be a popular spot no doubt....and something IGF could desperately use in the vicinity of the Rum Hut.
May 19, 20169 yr It looks really nice. Good for the Riders and the CFL, that's for sure! I wish we could have sunk the bowl as low as was originally intended.

I agree with the spirit of that statement and have no problems with our western neighbours also having nice things, BUT My tolerance for their goatlike blowhard braying is very limited, and they have not demonstrated the ability to control it. Unfortunately, this is almost certain to make me finally launch the nukes at them.
May 19, 20169 yr Don't know if that field is to scale but the areas beyond the sidelines seem unusually wide. Also it remains to be seen if swirling wind is going to be a problem there. Otherwise, it looks good.
May 19, 20169 yr Author The way the roof or canopy looks, it seems a lot of seats in the lower deck will be exposed to the elements. In one end zone there's a gap so I don't understand how that is going to minimize the wind. I think it'll be swirling.

They may have to use some plumbing tape to fix the big gap in their toilet bowl Edited May 19, 20169 yr by IC Khari

May 20, 20169 yr It's a nice looking stadium but I find it kind of sad that Regina doesn't have a children's hospital. Sometimes priorities are pretty backwards.
May 20, 20169 yr Saskatoon got the children's hospital. The volume of people does not warrant a 3rd hospital yet in Regina, but likely soon if growth continues.
May 20, 20169 yr The nice thing is that from the roof of the new stadium, you should be able to see the Children's Hospital in Saskatoon. I understand they're going to be calling it "Lil Critters What Ails"
May 20, 20169 yr It looks like if you are in the upper deck you are really far from the field unlike IGF where being in the front row like I am you really close to field.

Yeah, in general all of our seats look much closer to the field. Look at the back seats in the lower bowl even. Hard to tell without sitting in them though.

I love IGF for that. I like feeling close to the field and action. There is a cost, of course, with steeper stairs, but I think it's worth it.

May 20, 20169 yr Author There are a lot more end zone seats in the new Riders Mosaic Stadium than IGF. One whole end zone has virtually no seats. Some kind of entertainment area instead in that end zone. Edited May 20, 20169 yr by iso_55
May 21, 20169 yr Just an FYI IGF is not below grade, or at least not as much as they originally wanted. They couldn't do it so they had to raise the surrounding grade. I don't know about that open end. If it is a South entrance it might not cause that much problem wind wise but it is odd that they would not have done more wind remediation like they did at IGF. It is looking pretty good though.
