Up first:  Pittsburgh Penguins, my secondary team to cheer for.

 

I guess their worst start since Sid's rookie year could be because of their lousy defense.  Or bad coaching.  Or Kessel.

 

But in reality its because I took Fleury in my pool every year for 10 years until last year when I was fed up, he has his best year ever and then I took him this year and now he sucks. 

 

But really, whats the deal?  They might be the first to can their coach.

That's not a prediction, its common sense.

Some rumors out there linking Jets to Edmonton in a Trouba/RNH deal.  And ofcourse linked to Yak also.  If Chevy ends up with the Oilers 1st and keeps our 1st, I might make love to a photo of the GM tonight.

 

And I say that because I know it wont happen.

Zero chance Edmonton deals their first round pick in any deal.

Oilers would deal the 1st for a stud D, I think.....but I'm not sure that deal is out there, even in June/July. And any deal for RNH/Hall/Ebs, happens in the summer...not today.

Tradecentre has been awfully quiet... not even any rumours being circulated.

As for Yakupov...  I'd trade Burmistrov & Stuart for him and nothing else lol.    His value is ultra low. 

 

 

I may have overheard that another team claimed Pardy off waivers... thought I heard Edmonton but the office was kind of loud at the time.

 

Edmonton gets the D-man they they always needed!  Sort of a weird claim.  He's a UFA so whats the point...

Its funny watching TSN - they just keep recycling the same stuff over and over again as there has been literally nothing happening today.  Kind of like the let-down during "Free Agent Frenzy" back on July 1st.

People actually take the day off work for this trade deadline crap. Lol. 1 trade so far involving basically 2 nobodies. The biggest news is waiver pick ups. 

Kris Russell who has similar fancy stats as mark Stuart and a washed up Dan hamhuis are the big deals today maybe? Man. What a joke this stuff is. 

Nobody ever claimed Stempniak was a saviour... but what was missing this year was Chevy's annual waiver wire or low cost signing - Perrault, Stemp, Santarelli, etc... 

Jets got bit by lack of depth this year - then again, if we're in the playoff race, probably lose Ladd for nothing...  maybe this was the plan

Stemp was so good for the Jets last year that exactly ZERO teams wanted to sign him.  'Nuff said.

Perhaps the NHL should have a roster freeze for a week before deadline day!  No one wants to wait til the last second anymore...
