Good decision.

 

I just wish we had a competition in camp between young qb's (some combo of Brink, Elliott, Goltz, Hall, etc.) for the starting job, with Pierce pencilled in as the #2 right from the start.

This made my day.

Hopefully the fan base does not throw him under the bus if he has a couple bad outings.

Knew it, the "injury" was just a precursor to this.  It makes my drunk ramblings of "We'll never have to see pierce play again!!" after Etienne's second TD a lot more reasonable.

At least ISO can't complain we don't have a quarterback coach. We have an actual quarterback that will be coaching!

I can't believe they actually came out and announced this.... shoulda been done in the offseason but better late than never I guess.

We finally got that one foot unstuck from the mud.

 

A move that was seen by most of the fan base and it's coming about.

 

Is this why things have been so quiet on the Western Front?

I have a feeling this is a precursor to a trade happening.

 

We couldn't release Buck Pierce.  We would only have two quarterbacks.  So as of right now he is in a player-coach role for this team.

 

If we are trying to wean this team off of Pierce, what are our options?  We have to get another QB in fast.  So either we sign a free-agent and put them on our practice roster or make a trade.

 

If a trade gets made, Buck would have to be released at that point.  I could see this happening.

I would do like the Eskimos are doing with Kerry Joseph. Keep him as the #3 quarterback and let the other two ahead of him develop.

This is great news, I wonder if they will bring in a cfl vet as a 3rd string?
