That is just not a good take, at all.

I'll add a diverse run game! Running Brady in the A gap all day long out of the same formation won't do it.

This team is just not that good. Their record flatters them. They are as bad as Ottawa.

Fair enough. So if you agree that neither side here has enough info why single my post out and declare it a bad take? Seems odd.

I guess I found the 100% comment puzzling. I mean, players get criticized plenty on here. But 9 times out of 10 I would have just ignored it. I don't understand your echo chamber take. There are plenty of comments about lack of agreessive play, poor pass pro etc.

False. The coaches put them in a position to execute the play call. Game prep both mental and physical can only be done by the players themselves.

No, coaches put them in a position to win.

For years it's been blame the coaches...even when we are winning.

How did the coaches not put them in a position to win? By asking them to turn the ball over? Miss tackles? Not be ready to start the game?

Coaches cannot and have never been able to control that.

Coaches prepare the team to execute the gameplan. If they play hard and mistake free football and lose one can question the coaching. When they dont execute by way of poor tackling, mental error, or turnovers that is on the players.

Our QB made poor reads and threw errant passes all night and was probably the biggest reason we lost. That's not on the coaches.

Bombers defence has got to the worst on 2nd down. What say you @DTonOB ?

Let's see. Here's what I have into this week:

2nd and short: 5th

2nd and medium: 8th

2nd and long: 5th

2nd and 10+: 8th (42% converted!)

In none of the categories are they better than the league average.

Plenty of ways. How did they not? Poor roster management. Head coach playing favourites. Questionable coaching personnel decisions. Moving Gabe Wallace to Rt Tackle where he was totally lost. Keeping over the hill players on the roster like Stanley Bryant & Jake Thomas before him on the roster. Poor game planning & preparation. Poor offensive & defensive scheming Poor play calling. No in game adjustments & adapting to what the other team is doing. You picked a strange time to stand up for the sorry ass coaching we're receiving now.

Alright, using your logic... Players that can't execute a game plan, are poor tacklers, can't play mistake free football, give up bad plays at inopportune times, wilt under pressure, don't recognize coverages, continually make mental errors & can't make big plays when needed while continuing to play these same players. Then that is on the entire coaching staff as it's their decision to play them.

I don’t think a vet coach that is an improvement exists as an option. You either look at a vet who gets fired and who you hope can bounce back with you (like ritchie back in the day) or you try to develop a new young guy and take some lumps for a couple years.

Young guy getting a first hc gig is the popular choice generally.

i could actually see a buck getting canned and being an option in the off season.

I do not think mos or walters will be shown the door this year or next though.

The cfl coaching and front office works badly needs fresh blood but it isn’t happening any time soon.

Osh was an outlier pick..he never really did anything to present as a sure fire pick

I said before the yr we shoulda approached micky Donovan...fiery..experienced..players love...a new voice and message and one that wouldn't cause a total team mindset shift

Most pro orgs will when in our kinda situ dump the HC and move forward there first...less upheaval..less change...minimal disruption...especialy when said g.m has basically went thru 1 HC in his tenure...you need to see if the disconnect was in 1 place..not a total collapse...and all.things considered here it looks as such

Dumping both 100 percent of time results in if not requires a total purge..admin staff..majority of coaching...likely a whole new environment and that wasn't needed...we effed up..Osh should have been moved on from..Walters given 2 yrs...and see how that shook out.

If we flop thus yr we best dump Osh..to hell with the cap implications for the short term..if he is as awesome as claimed he should be picked up and then he won't be getting paid by us no more

I get you dont agree and you are free to do so, but at least acknowledge that the echo chamber is also not posting an educated opinion and let them know too.

Pick shitty players...they make shiity errors...

And poor cosching and not having them prepped to be in right place to succeed just amplifies it...like I mentioned in another post..teams know our scheme..recognize exactly what we are gonna do pre snap...run guys to spots outside this weird flawed coverage zone we employ...figuring teams will run right into coverage while we wait..and they see that...and exploit it

Nobody attacks outside the dline...they hang back and let it come to them

Neither do you have enough info to put the blame 100% on the players.

Is anyone trying to put 100% of the blame anywhere?

Holm, Nichols, Moxey looked like middle schoolers who have never played tackle football before. At this point in their careers, that's entirely on them. There's nothing a coach could have done.

Condell scheming Brady wide, going away from the running game when it's the only thing working, calling hitches when the DBs are sitting on them, not having a hot route in motion for Dru to go to - that's coaching errors.

Drafting Daniels (who I like but maybe should be a PR guy), ahead of some receiver options when apparently the plan was to go to 3 canadian receivers- that's scouting/GMing.

Seemingly not holding players or coaches accountable and letting them work their way out for a questionably long time before making changes - if changes are ever made - that's on MOS.

But there are way too many things going wrong right now for anyone to wear the blame, and the buck doesn't stop at MOS, it goes higher than that.

Asked earlier...can you find out what we designate each side of ball for cdn's to satisfy ratio?

Curious as to how and why they deploy subs

Lots a coach could do...lose the bias over favouring vets or favorites..roster better plsyers...there's a thought...or at the least bench one to send a message...osh wont

And I mention that part being on MOS. But in game, a vet player making a poor play is on the player. It wasn't poor scheme pulling him out of position, or lack or practice time, or a bad coaching giving bad advise, just a player mistake.

The coaches are allowing this kind of play like this with zero repercussions. All we hear is we'll look at the film and correct things, yet it's the same thing happening over and over.

If I kept underperforming this badly at my job, I'd be looking for a new line of work. Maybe some people in the locker room need to have that fear instilled in them.

How do you know that poor scheme and film work didnt contribute to the mistake..or what looked like one? You dont...looking at our schem we are blanketing or poo protecting areas..teams see that and run players thru it...or away from it..and causes a lot of what looks like errors/bad decisions or blown coverage...but is a player trying to make up ground in chase from a poor scheme and not being put in right spots to succeed

The horrible tackling can 100 percent be from lack of practice and working on technique..that or just not being able to identify a player lacking that skill...again...yhats all on coaching and how you run practice and camp

Yeah...how many times we heard that now...was execution issues but we will fix and be bettwr

When will it be said its flawed system issues making guys look inept...or its inept players not able to handle scheme...or both??

Never with this staff...deflect..deny..no ownership or accountability and act pissy if pressed on it by media

I think you can blame the scheme for putting guys out of position and coaches for telling players to give too much space (and we've done that).

But sometimes a poor tackle is just a poor tackle. There were several examples of vets making lazy plays that they have no one to blame for but themselves. Not taking any blame off the coaches for the things they have control over, but Holm and others played terribly and they have to wear that too.

I don't think anyone is excusing the players at all. This mess belongs to everyone - the players, coaches, scouts and Walters are all playing a part in where we are at.

The thing is they were in the proper positions and whiffed on tackles, made poor decisions, and our QB was hot garbage. That is what cost us the game.

That's my point. Lets not let Brown off the hook either, he cost us tremendously. He had a very poor game. Didn't help that his OL was hot garbage after Tui went in but at the end of the day there were a lot of ill advised throws that came as a result of both pressure and bad reads.

Holms been a shittty tackler from day one...not a strong suit and having him in the spot he is...gets abused...He should be at a corner spot to run with the speed guys or safety

And repeat offenders who continually get hosed with tackling...or just losing an angle for huge gains over and over should be replaced...or at least shown the pine in a game..Osh doesnt have the stones to do it...Or the ability to see it/recognize the issue

yeah...**** talent....**** results....and icing on cake...no accountability for it...just go right out there and do it some more

Also I not too certain with what we run that they are in not put in right position...if they were there wouldn't be so many guys free and wide open...and guys in chase..Teams see our film at eat our lunch...we play passive an know pre snap based on formation and who is out there the space they are looking at that they will cover....so the scheme the receiver to not go there...knowing we play passive and dont attack a ball...rather let the play stay in the designed cover area and then come up and make a play...dumb...especially when we see the skill of 3/4's of our secondary in tackling

Then you also have guys run thru the arwa that we figure we are diverting the play to, and guys have no clue what the eff to do and guys are racing free....pretty obvious watching it

So after 8 weeks at what point is it the coaches fault for keeping the same underperforming lineup in there?

I won't defend the coverage scheme, it's not good. However, at the end of the day guys were in the position to make key tackles and whiffed and that made it worse. However, when your QB tosses up 4 picks you are going to lose that game 99% of the time. When guys let a guy free to block a punt, or allow a 118 yard missed FG that's not really on coaching. That's poor execution at a base level.

We can debate whether a 58 yard FG attempt was wise, but we have Castillo and he makes those far more often than he misses them. It was guy after guy not doing his job on the field and I won't let the players off the hook for an effort like that.

Now, I am in full agreement there should be consequences and if this is what we get next game then that's on the coaching AND the leadership in the room. There seems to be some people here believing that we have talent waiting in the wings. Point these players out to me, I'm not seeing it, and I haven't seen it in years.

But these issues have gone back several years now.... And there's never consequences.... See no one is absolving the players of the mistakes they make or the poor efforts but when you have seen things slipping for the same issues for years now you need to look at who's running the team and what's the issue there where the same problems are recurring.

This is exactly it. We're not going to get away with blaming the players for everything.

I'll use the 118 yard MFG return as a perfect example ... did the players execute on that play? Absolutely not. Was it smart coaching to put that many OL and DT on the field in that situation? Also absolutely not. We can't use that as an example of just poor execution, it's also terrible coaching.
