Heard yesterday morning out of Regina a Rider player had been in a wreck and that it was likely the Rider players fault, didn't know who until afternoon. Then a lot of locals went off on a "brown guy

He's 6'6, that's way too tall for our team.

His hair alone weighs over 100kgs.

He'll up his game for sure. Ratio breaking semi-backups are worth their weight in gold.

Wouldn't consider him a ratio breaking player...more a solid depth guy tho..if he is pegged as your #1 to #3 option..thats a weak group

Good idea, let's renegotiate for more

For more production from him you mean? That's the only "more" I want to see from him.

So related to this, Tommy Nield got 175k for this year and 187k for the next. Barf.

Agreed. That was hyperbole...at which I am subpar.

Don’t sell yourself short. That was an astronomical understatement.

Ottawa released National WR Nick Mardner. Worth a look?

Morreale has a lot of experience in pro sports like the NHL, the CEBL & now with the RedBlacks. He certainly has a lot of work to do to get the team competitive & the fans to come back. The first will be what to do with Ryan Dinwiddie. It's obvious he has too much on his plate. I assume that Morreale will redo his contract & take away some of his responsibilities As in hire a qb coach & OC. Or give up being a HC to just be the GM. If I was a betting man, I'd think they'd bring in new assistant coaches & GM. I'd think he'd remain as a HC. They'd sell the fact that Dinwiddie is an experienced & successful HC who deserves a second chance with qualified people surrounding him. I also think that if a new GM does come in bec ause of the admin cap, Dinwiddie would be safe & won't be fired.

I would definitely give Dinwiddie some time to work things out

T he RedBlacks don't have time. He should have one position & no more. Morreale has to figure it out.

I agree that he shouldn't retain all of his current positions.

tbh idk what the better alternative would be. you’ve already ruined one season, you aren’t going to get an easy upgrade for instant success, maybe dip his responsibilities and stick him with a gm but may as well spin the wheel for another off season and camp.

Newell popped and suspended again. Between the two suspensions and a season ending injury in pre season game 1, he hasn’t played a snap. That’s pretty messed up.

Bo signs an extension in the Hammer.

Boy with his injury and at his age that does not make a lot of sense to now

makes me believe even more that ZC will be back here next yr, cause I think he still wants to play and that likely would have been his landing spot if we chose to move on, or were outbid if we keep him

If we do bring him back...It has to be for a 200k shave at minimum....and with that cash saved...Bryants off the books....hopefully 2 of Kramdi/Holm/Nichols and Wilson and Jones we should be able to surround him with an impenetrable line and a legit #1

Also...He needs to flat out win the job out of camp with zero doubt...And if he is beat out a 400k backup is no big deal as whomever the 3 are who end up on the roster...the price of them is gonna be the same on the SMS bottom line regardless of who's #1..#2...or 3

And a 400k insurance policy...well rested and healthy if needed when it really matters if the #1 goes down is money well spent

If O'Shea is still head coach next year and if Collaros decides to come back, you can bet your bippy he will be handed the starting job. If the Bombers win tonight, it will be a near-certainty that O'Shea will be back and we will have to endure another season like past few. Thus, i would rather the Bombers lose tonight, as it will increase the chances he will be sacked, but that is by no means a likelihood.

If we lose tonight..and if Walters wants to show any credibility and boost his standing on why he deserves to be back and fix things he needs to make a statement...tomorrow.

He has to go on record and say that this yr was a disappointment and no sugar coating or excuses.

He should emphasize that based on 5 consecutive yrs of decline now, that it is not acceptable and that a top down review of the organization will be conducted and changes have to, and will be made. That incudes players, coaches and how we go about the process.

Standing pat and just going status quo is not an option moving forward.

Now if he does that, with conviction and emphasis we have a chance to pull out of the nose dive, and gives Fan's the assurance/hope that he knows there are issues and he will make the tough choices if need be.

Anything less is just the precursor to more the same..and nothing improving anytime soon.

Even a lucky back door crossover entry to playoffs and quick exit...again...should illicit the same statement too

He's missed half of his games due to injury. When he's 60 he'll need a scooter to get around.
