Yeah. We find some good DBs and pretty much bugger all else.

that’s true but I don’t see teams struggling to find good dbs, and our system has a lot to do with it.

Isn't Bailey one of the ones Booch has been banging a drum for since the start of last year? I thought he was supposed to be really good but just hurt all the time ..

He’s a guy we traded up to draft second over all. Hes a guy that was going to be signed as an imp before qualifying as a G.

Lots of us were bullish on him, because even as he showed in pre season game 1, he’s got great strength and quickness.

He and player where two of the best of a bad bunch, but didn’t get much pt despite brutal play in front of them.

Meanwhile counting as a global on the thinnest dl in the league last year makes it pretty clear what would’ve been best.

No one said he was guaranteed all star or great league starter. He was better than guys ahead of him but didn’t play. Now he’s gone, and we’ve still got korny and paper thin depth at dl.

The young guy group at de are better then we’ve seen in a good while. but none of them are guaranteed to succeed. We have enough guys that 1 should flourish. But we haven’t exactly done a good job of front usage.

Other teams go through our dl cuts, which people brush off because no one is an instant all star. But are other teams sifting through our db/wr/rb cuts? even ol doesn’t get looks. Lbers and dl cuts here get second looks in the league. Which means teams look at our usage of talent and say, “we can do more with those guys”

Do we really though? To me this is a continuation of the problems this defense has had. Neglecting depth on the DL and dressing more linebackers than we really need.

Special teams is still every 6th play in this league. You can't be ignorant enough to just look at a roster and go "hurr durr, so many linebackers." Half of those guys are special teamers. Put fullback beside 3 of their names if it makes you feel better.

Having a guy with DL by his name on the roster who stands on the sideline and holds his helmet all game there just in case doesn't help us win anything.

We have Gatkuoth to rotate in on the edge. I think it's fair to assume Younger has a plan to use Woodbey at 3 levels of the D.

Our D is actually stacked.

If people want to worry, worry about receiver and running back. Peterson looked like a stunned junior player in camp in the pre-season games. We're relying a lot on a bunch of Canadians who haven't been consistent or healthy across their careers (Nield, Cobb, Clercius).

MOS+KW have been together since 2014 and remind me when Danny Mac joined. Nothing lasts forever.

Yeah don't worry, I think that's a dumb plan too

Booch also beat the drums on a few defensive ends who ended up being average who signed in Hamilton last year so maybe the DE knowledge is the over rated. Nothing in this post should be offensive to anyone. Fact. Fan forum. In the end, just fans. Maybe that offends tho. So I’ll say booch is a knowledgeable poster on MBB.com but like all of us is wrong so very much about certain players.

Easy to be "wrong" on an Osh controlled team...he will bypass talent for other odd reasons..and thats fact

Case in point..Clinton out performed all import lbs in various areas..and is untapped potential..and we went total status quo...on a failing team of last few yrs..explain

As for Bailey.. he on roster even as last guy will offer a lot more than whatever Canadian osh will put on...and thats a fact too...but not shocking in the least

lol. Osh be oshin and booch be boochin. Honestly like you’re wrong lots dude. It’s ok to accept it. But it’s O’Shea right, younger and Condell have no input. Yup it’s all O’Shea eventho he’s made it very clear they all decide together.

You all complain about 45 linebackers cuz Osh be Oshin but when hall was DC 45 linebackers weren’t dressed. Does it ever occur to you that maybe just maybe younger is the guy pushing for who he wants and he gets who he wants. We all sit here and complain about the last 2 or 3 Canadians on the roster but across the league it’s similar so it’s pretty irrelevant but to pretend it’s Osh oshin when he’s made it clear Condell and younger have major say is just fake news.

The bottom line for me is that Walters and O'Shea have broken faith with us fans and even though we do not know what went on behind closed doors, it seems we no longer trust them implicitly. I am willing to be proven wrong, but apart from Elgersma, we seem to be pretty much in the same situation as we were in the past 2-3 years. There is plenty of blame to spread around.

Agreed that we wanted him but he went at #6 and we didn't pick again until #11. Worked out in the end though. He was just starting to really establish himself as a pro when he hit FA and came home.

Remember who we took at #11?

Rookie season is full of firsts for Richards | Regina Leader Post

The hair!! The hair!!! Addison Richards hair and Jade Etienne's mom were the only things we had to talk about in those days....

Demski we were absolutely going to draft but Taman scooped us one spot before.

That's not what happened.

We didn't get scooped one spot before. We could have taken Demski #2 overall but we took Sukh Chungh instead. And then when we picked again at #11 Demski was long gone, five picks previous. Taman did get Demski, but we weren't really scooped, we scooped ourselves by taking Chungh. And then we took Richards at #11, who played, according to CFL.CA, in 17 career games for the Bombers, without recording one catch, and with zero targets. I would guess that means that he never actually saw the field once.

We all have opinions...yours tho are out to sea in a big way...I bet come game 1 we will have a handicapped depth chart...and you can think what u want...and guys will have input but end of day its a HC final say.

And hall has tons of experience and sway and yeah osh didnt have plums...or acumen to disrespect or over rule Hall..big difference.

That’s correct. We passed on Lamar Durant to take Richards.

Look it's not even necessarily the numbers at lb.... I honestly question if we're playing the best guys as starters.

And passed on the kid in bc who schooled us

What did Daniel's do..really to make the team other than being a pick we traded up to get?

Didnt catch a ball..the couple routes he went out on he looked awkward and lost...his pass protection was awful...and this shitkicking blocking Walters yammerned on about..I didnt see it in the 2 games or 4 practices I went to

For that matter what did Kyrie and Jones do to earn the spot other than be vet holdovers? Yet here they are gonna be starting...Smith..Woodbey..Ayers and Griffin tho showed they are worthy and should take the main reps...Shay as well and really Clinton out played them all and "hustled" "tried" hard too...its Corcoran's traits Osh raves about and gets him playtime..why doesn't it work for a player possibly pushing a vet out? Dumping a Jones or Wilson ...or DA'n one wouldn't hurt us in the least...but..osh be oshin just like I be Boochin...some u all think just cause he the HC he is never wrong and not flawed.

Yes. See my previous comment

I will say this though... going from Jake to Jake at DT is going to make a tremendous difference in the effectiveness of the defense as a whole.

Let's just hope the old guys aren't cooked by the time playoffs roll around

We definitely upgraded a couple positions...but looking at what we kept..and PR'd..our depth i bet gonna be even worse than last yr..and heavily relying on old guard to stay healthy.

And I didnt think it was possible but our receiving group..especially if we stupidly go 3 Canadian will be worse than last yr...especially if white or Pokey go down...plus I have zero faith Demski will go unknicked..

I find it interesting about the comments about fielding the same team lol our roster is built from returning players, free agent signings and the draft. Most teams aren’t looking to fill several starting spots in training camp and if they were they would be in a lot of trouble. I don’t see how we’re different than any other team in the league. Most of the opportunities come from injuries, I think we’ve done a decent job of bringing in young guys to replace veterans of the past two/three years. We were a very old team. Besides Zach Bryant/patty and Willie we have a relatively young core. None of the players I mentioned were going to be going anywhere this season. I think the team showed it can move on from players.

I don't get the fascination with Tony Jones. He's an average MLB and we're on year 3 of him and we seem to treat him like he's 2018 Biggie.

And if some do get cooked throughout the season (injury or film saying they suck) aren’t really good teams prepared with quality depth? On paper how do we score with our depth? I guess we will soon find out.

Anything is better than Cobb. Roster management is certainly a mystery with Osh.

Chungh wasn't a bad pick- he was very serviceable for several years before fleeing home. Yes, Demski turned out to be a very good player, but he served his apprenticeship with the Riders but didn't blossom until he got back home. You pays yer money and you takes yer chances.

I think he’s pretty good. The problem is we had prime Biggie who was one of the best linebackers of all time. Players like that don’t come around very often.
