IMO you only really break the bank (overpay) for certain guys... assuming he's still in top form... Ceresna would be one of those guys

Ceresna, cheap receiver, OL would be my free agency wishes... fill the rest of the roster with recruits and Canadians.

There is no logical way to conclude that he doesn't have a fist full of cash. That's not conjecture, that is math. Last year on the eve of FA, 400k increase was announced to the SMS. KW said he wouldn't use it because he wasn't sure if it was going to be for salaries or not. Only one notable player was added after that in Wilson half way thru the season. There had to be a large portion of that money sitting at the end of the year. Also, to back up my reasoning is that we signed all our big signings just about before December 31, the deadline for 2025 SMS. Not even going to factor in the 100k we saved on Schoen, and a huge run of 6 games injures at the beginning of the season. Wouldn't surprise me if we weren't even at the SMS floor by the end of the season.

I think that not only did KW sign a bunch after the season but pre-December 31st, but he had to in order to be SMS compliant.

Apparently I hear a player like JC will faciltate better and more focussed play from WJ. If true, a huge bonus to signing a Jake that doesn't end with Thomas.

Ceresna would have to be considered the perfect fit for us. He can play inside and out and dominate. With our DC loving 3 man fronts that is exactly the guy we need.

Ceresna would be a very nice add...Had a few nics last year but if he's shaken that off he definitely is the type we're looking to add....Robustelli would be an interesting addition....big bodied guy that dbs just hate to get in the way of ....he'd fit in nicely

White has been great in the past....if he still brings it our receiving corps sure has improved..

Nice to see we're looking like we actually want to participate in fa this year...unlike the dismal effort of 25'...Keep it up Walters

I really hope he's taking advantage of marketing money and loading some guys (ex: Willie and Brady) up with it.  That would free up a bunch of cap space and it's not like the club can't afford it.

I have zero concerns about our SMS availability this year. We should have an extra 400k over most teams.

Exactly, use that revenue, some of it generated by a lot of people on this discussion board. I know I continue to contribute to the Bomber store on a semi frequent basis so I authorize my contribution to assist in JC’s (and deep vertical wr threat) signing.

My wife's and my contributions by way of Kilter Juicii's at the games should pay for at least one back up player....

Dare to dream. I hope Sleepy Kyle wakes up in time before someone else grabs him. That being said the White signing shows he has at least one eye open this year.

Ceresna is a beast. He won't need to learn technique from JT that's for sure. However, JT is an excellent X's and O's guy. That part of it all our guys should be listening too.

Yep, just like gcn20 said, I fully expect we utilized last years cap space to front load a bunch of the early re ups. You never see that much action before new years in the cfl.

 I’m a kw apologist, I expect him to get a lot done in free agency. Nothing less will do.

I love what he’s brought to the field. I question how much is left in the tank though. 

He turns 32 this year, he missed a chunk last year and has had some injuries in the past.  102 games in 7 seasons, thats 24 missed games with 18 twice and 17 games once. It’s a coin toss if you get a full year or 2/3s from him. 

Hes supposed to be 100% right now, which bodes well. He made 246k max last year and didn’t take all that home. I think if he’s under 250k ish and 2 years or less it’s good. If you get some of that tied to games/sacks etc even better. 

 

He is exactly what we need from an imp dt.

Yeah the 32 is a tad concerning but look at big Stan (I know totally dif positions) and the "supposed to be should be in italics...Totally agree with the last line

Somehow I can see them signing Ceresna... then making Thomas a player-coach and giving Jake more reps....

Felt like Ceresna singlehandedly beat us in the Grey Cup a couple years back..... Just dominated the line of scrimmage all game
