You can fill in the blanks on Danny Mac but he’s arguably the best example of the old boys club issues going on in this organization.  Everyone who has done 5 minutes of due diligence on him for a job where he’s a face of the organization even up to OC has walked away.  And it’s not totally related to how he understands the CFL.

He’s someone who needs to go here and has for years.  It’s funny for the people claiming others in the org are inept and toxic pushing him as a candidate for a leadership role in the front of a professional organization.

I've always had my doubts about Danny Mac.. He could have been a GM years ago but the story goes that doesn't want to leave his home in Florida permanently. If he puts living in Florida first over running an entire organization, do we really want him running the Bombers? I don't.

We needed significant changes to coaching and the roster, at the start of the year

Yeah the fumble sucked but that was still what his... 8th touch of the game? If the defense remembers they can't touch a QBs facemask they are still only a touchdown down. Defense can't stay off the field, 36 minutes of offense for Monteral is nuts, Brady can't get any rhythm going... although it looks like they gameplanned him out themselves anyways.

he knows as well as any one in the league how to manage the off the field production. On field? man idk if he does know, or if he has the will to fire his buddies. That can’t be known unless he does it imo. 

At this point, only time will tell.

Well, Wade can clean house if he wants as everyone's contracts are up so it won't affect the salary cap for coaches & admin. If he doesn't do something this year then he never will.

We had 3 DEs that showed more last week than our 2 veterans have all year. Our D line sucked. Could have been the difference.

No doubt the braintrust has put them on the practice roster & will now be free agents. I mean, we got Thomas, right? With Jake, don't need anyone. He's a starter.

He's part of the decision making group that has put a really bad product on the field and lost 3 straight championships. I'm not overly pumped.

Took Goveia a million years before Hamilton finally gave him a shot.  Might not be a deep pool but it's also not like there are a lot of jobs and teams like to recycle (ex Hervey or Maciocia).

I think part of it has to do with O’Shea and the old boys club. Look at the few free agents we did sign in Jones and Mitchell. Both couldn’t sniff the field. Think teams entering free agency want to come here? Who knows if they will even get a chance to see the field. When it comes to young talent entering the league would they rather go to a place like Winnipeg, or a place like BC, Montreal, Toronto, etc where as long as you have talent you have a chance to make the team and are put in a position to show case talent. I think we’re suffering a lot because of O’sheas stubbornness with his roster management.

Once you get out of the top 10 of free agent rankings from the past couple seasons it's littered with guys who have been benched and cut.  You can search up cfl.ca or 3 Down if you want to audit.

Free agency isn't a way to build a team.  The Bombers have had massive turnover since the 22 Grey Cup, each year since.  It's honestly part of the reason why they are less competitive.  They haven't back filled with young players who are developing into solid pros.  Rookies have had tons of opportunity here.  Some have taken it, some aren't good players at this level.  But we focus on the whipping boys who have been here for awhile.  Yes they've had a hard time telling everyone their time is up.  Like to me Neufeld and Bryant should have been gone after 23.  Jefferson I wouldn't have brought back this season.

I'm not sure who you guys think is being blocked here.  Like where's the all-star team of guys who haven't made it here in the past 3-4 years and are tearing up the CFL or NFL...even UFL.

Danny mac has only interviewed for 1 or 2 gm jobs. Because of his limited part time up north status. but out of last years interview for the hamilton job he’s supposed to be willing to come up full time for a job and be more open to it than in the past.

 Previously he’s been  very happy to work out of his home and in his region, which i can’t blame him for.

I know you know that doesn't cut it as a fulltime GM. Danny has to be willing to move if he wants to be in charge. He can't do it from 2500 miles away.

best case imo, is Dinwiddie as hc and co gm, with Archambault or laverne as gm/senior director of player personnel. 

If you get that, I think you get them coming in to work with jy, Costello and DC.  Out side of that, you let them run who they want. If they want some of our current guys that’s fine. If they clean house, that’s fine too.

yeah, what im saying is he hasn’t been willing to do that before. which is why he’s interviewed for only one job, twice over his years here. He’s liked his gig. But from what he said, he was willing to change that for the hamilton job, and would change it if needed here.

Yup he's been clear that he's willing to move but it has to be the right situation. In 2019 Montreal was interested in him but he pulled himself from the running.  He did an interview in 2021 where he talked about it.

That’s right montreal, thanks for digging it up. He talked about it a bit this summer too after the hamilton interview, before ted got it. I think it was the youtube show for the bombers he talked about it in more depth. 

We have some solid agms, but I don’t think the rest are even fringe candidates on a good team today. Danny is it, and that would be pretty sub optimal. I think that only happens if walter’s takes another job but mos is retained.
