  • Say all you want about the deteriorating talent on the team but Hogan is completely in over his head as an offensive coordinator.

  • Also congratulations to our senior members who, despite apparently being fortunate that they’re not shitting themselves, can still formulate a better sentence than some of us young guys around here

I hate the long winded responses here that go on foreveer with no paragraphs. So much fun to read. I can live with grammatical & spelling errors unless they're so bad that they can't spell cat or dog.

I remember when I was 55, I started to get comments from my wife who was 47 at the time after very thing I said, she'd say, "You told me that already THREE times". It got frustrating. I thought I was losing my mind. Now, she does it to me & I get to pay her back saying, "You already told me THREE times!!" Feels good. Lol.

Saw the Desjarlais is bumping out to tackle today with a rookie playing guard.  He's a great guard but can he play tackle?  Does it even matter with our dline?

no, it does not.... prime Willie and Jeffcoat would've feasted on that...

And that’s essentially the problem. All of our stars (still here) have gotten older and we haven’t replaced them. Now not all vets have struggled but for the most part minus Brady and Demski, maybe holm and Kyrie, they have struggled.

I know riiiight I hate the people that with their long winded responses that go on and on and on and on and on with no paragraphs no sentence structure leaving us to decipher what they mean For the love of goodness be short concise and to the point enough with the PhD dissertations who do you think you are wasting our time Do you think I have time to read these responses when all one needs to do is get to the point Enough There are some of us who can write clear and to the point and not mispill things like catts and dawgs for gawds sakes Thank you for finally calling out these types of posts Literally everything that can be said in three to four words some here just feel the need to wax on and on and on  Exhausting tiring frustrating annoying And what about the horrible try at their humour ffs Don't quit your day jobs people And yes where are the paragraphs??? Did we not pass grade school language arts? Jeebus not fun There would be a lot more engagement on this site if only we could write coherent and to the point opinions and move on after making your point no need to keep saying the same thing over and over and over again without the necessary breaks in paragraphs. and appropriate use of punctuation: I don't know how many times I find myself half way thru a post and not understand why they continue to same the same things over and over again using different words but meaning the same things without the correct grammer and puntuation Did I mention the spelling errrrrers? Good grief charlie brown , learn to spell at least at the third garde level And lets get back to the humor, you're not Bill Burr, you're  a rando internet guy trying to be funny and you're not being funny not to mention the fact that you're being long winded with your responses and seem to get easily distracted with our points and just as a side bar why do they continue to play Jake Thomas? Anyway where was I oh yea tiring reading some of these posts that feel like that movie Planes Trains and Automobiles where Steve Martin's Character tells John Candy's Character he's like a chatty cathy doll yakety yakety when you tell a story have a point boy oh boy writing less I find with some is vey hard like their trying to fill space with their drivel and their half baked ideas.

Okay I've tired myself out, I'm here all week.

It’s porno. I used to hang with some of the models who did porn in the exchange area.

I know it’s fun to blame the OC (see Pierce, Buck; Lapolice, Paul) but what OC in the league would have done better with Strev at QB (arguably not even a good third string, short yardage guy) mediocre receivers and average OL?

it’s a lot of chicken s-t that Walter’s and Osh have handed Hogan. He may also be bad — but I didn’t think we know definitively yet.

Our defensive rush has 0 creativity we line up three guys and 1 lb  and tell them to wave their hands and push towards the qb. Meanwhile other teams run stunts and sack our qbs.

If we blitz we telegraph it. Hard for any of them to be successful

Agreed. No stunts or twists, nothing. We don’t rotate in guys with different skill sets for opposing o-linemen to worry about.

Just gas out the same three guys (all in their mid-30s) so by the 3rd quarter they’re useless.

The way we use our D front is the worst aspect of generally bad roster management across the board.

Really hard to say. IMHO Bomber management should get an "F" this year. Recruiting was very poor. They failed to replace the talent that left for other pastures. Roster management has not been up to par. And I am not sold on the new OC as of yet. This team is very weak on both sides of the ball and there is no real talent pool left to fill the gap.

Total Management Failure  IMHO.

Well both those guys got better results with similar players so yeah,  I'm gonna go ahead and say Hogan is a clear step down from those guys. Lapos problem was entirely playcalling and knowing when to be conservative and when to go for it. He is a good football mind and did have a real nice playbook. Pierce similarly has run some good offenses in the past.

Hogan though... he's got no accolades and defenses are not fooled in the least by what he's trying to do.

When his biggest advocate (BO) is throwing shade about not being put in a position to succeed and Hogan himself admitting he's made mistakes and is still learning, I don't think you can compare the flack he's getting with what past OC's have gotten.  The heat he is getting is absolutely deserved where as the previous guys you could argue and make a legitimate defense for.

Pierce is running a real nice offence right now in BC.  Just trailing Hamilton and Toronto in total points scored.  If he had a defence the Lions would be scary.

Yes, and he has a premier QB but the way his offence is perking, it makes me wonder if O'Shea hobbled him here.

i think he has a good shot at rt. especially since holding and illegal block calls are soo rare these days. i think teams could give guys like that more shots at rt. especially if they are mobile and on the nasty side.

That said, I’d definitely test him early and often with speed off the edge and mix in some chop spin, ghost rush, bull slip, off balancing moves.

Best we can do is line Thomas up at end.

There’s weird decisions on both sides of the ball. They signed Jake to a new deal this off season. They let Kenny go.
They aren’t related at all but Just shows the spectrum of odd decision making

bring in a rookie OC and let zachs favorite receiver go. Just setting up for failure. Plus the state of the oline. Dobson looks pretty ok in Hamilton. Maybe having a real center helps the guards out. Didn’t even go after any of the OL available but let 1 go. And a starter at that. Is hogan part of the problem? Honestly maybe because I dunno if you can make chicken salad out of chicken **** and expect it to taste good.

Is this the last chance for Strev to prove that he can be a starter in the league?
