I was thinking more like Speedflex lol...no offense Al...

From the Crankshaft wiki:

Quote

Crankshaft is a comic strip about a character by the same name — an older, curmudgeonly school bus driver

yup, checks out.

(like KBF, no offense intended here)

So the comic strip Crankshaft is going to be running a storyline between July 21st and August 17th about the characters coming to Winnipeg for a game. MOS will be in a few of the strips. Story in today's Free Press. Anyhow thought it was cool.

from what I am reading the creator of this strip is from Ohio.  Why would Crankshaft be a CFL fan?  Is he related to Zach or something?  I'm just thinking that his US readership would be confused by an American attending a football game in July. Just curious as to the connection here as I can't read the Free Press in Kelowna.

This is amazing, honestly.

I like how Americans think that Canadian Mounties in full dress uniform are security at every event in Canada ever lol...

A little background is in order here: The Blue Bombers first came into Batiuk’s radar in 2011 during the National Football League’s work stoppage. Needing his football fix, Batiuk, now 78, discovered the Canadian Football League.

“I was looking for football to watch and found the CFL and became a fan of the Blue Bombers because they have the coolest name in football,” he said. “I started watching their games and then in Crankshaft, Dan Davis, my artist, and I would just start throwing in a Blue Bombers sweatshirt or T-shirt every now and then.”

The whole Crankshaft Is Bombers Fan came about a few years ago I believe. I remember there being a FreeP article about this some time ago. Had totally forgotten about it. It might have something to do with Zach being an Ohio guy...
