Lawson is all we hoped for, but only one stud d-lineman is not enough. He can be countered by putting two blockers in front of him, and you need at least one other, and preferably two  stud d-lineman to give the op[posing O-line fits.

The Bombers love to operate out of a three-man front, and that was the look they gave the Lions on Jamal Parker’s 57-yard touchdown return. Cameron Lawson was lined up as the nose tackle, but nobody blocked him as right guard Tyler Packer fanned out to his right while both centre Michael Couture and left guard Kory Woodruff stared down middle linebacker Tony Jones in anticipation of a blitz. As his three interior linemen grappled with ghost pass rushers, the real pressure forced Masoli to step up into trouble and heave a panicked lateral.

 No no it’s not my fault I swung and hit a ref a bomber player bumped by arm and it followed through into him! 
 

 Lawson crossed and beat two lions ol on that play. He did what good noses can do.

Yeah he full of crap...Lawson sliced thru 2 guys...with a combo of tech and power

3 quarters in...not sure the oline hate...they were fine...a few miscues but that's normal 

My thoughts are they are all getting used to their new blocking schemes..we doing a tonne of guard and tackle pulls to the opposite side of line...some plays have both moving in tandem...lots of active lineman blocking schemes...like a lot! ...I also think ZC needs to get used to it as it's either confusing to him and hes panicking for no reason or he just not in sync with it

We not just dropping guys back in their normal way...or pushing straight forward with traps and tandem on runs...

Strev was very comfortable with it tho

Any one saying the ol was bad has lost it. Bcs guys won the battle a couple times, they have a good dl that happens. Edm will do similar next week. But over all they played well. Kola was kola, but the rest played well. Randolph is a nice upgrade over Lofton and only gonna get better. Wallace is gonna be an animal with a good chunk of starts. 
 

Taking vanterpool off sucks, but imp guards are rare and a luxury. We are wasting way to many roster spots to afford that right now. 
 Having an imp ol on the pr who can step in and be maybe your best ol is extremely fortunate. Keep grooming him as a T and we will have it made in the shade.

Yeah.  What they are doing is basically giving so many different looks for coverages/pressures that the QB can't really trust their pre-snap reads and if they do they will likely be putting the ball in peril.  So they are slowing everything down for the QB (in a negative way), giving receivers basically no space to operate, so the QB's are holding onto the ball a lot longer than they want to.  Essentially the entire second level of the D and safety could do almost anything on any given play...to put it really simply.  

From the first two games I think they will need to mix in more pressures.  And they did last year.  A little heavy on dropping 9 over two weeks and BC was settling in.  Could be a little less predictable if they amped up aggression just a notch sometimes before the ball is in FG range.

Another key thing on the Parker int...pressure up gut by Lawson forced a hurried and high throw...Jake...pops up and is just washed to the side...we would be so lights out on defence with right personel...or even just proper rotation and who is on feild in certain schemes...its just little things that make huge impacts over course of game

Should have taken the sack instead of forcing a 25 yard pass.  Bryant got opened up bad and beat by inside move, held too.  Need to be a lot smarter with the ball.  And need to block someone.  No one should be getting beat inside big on big 1 on 1 in pass protection.

Zach still had time to throw, though. Collaros just floated it in there for the easy pick. You could tell when it left his hands, the football was a wounded duck.

Someone should ask O'Shea why he took the 10 yards after the BC TD on the kickoff instead of the convert.

Make them go for 2 from the 12 or kick 42 yards for PAT.  Who gives a **** about 10 yards on an onside kick?  Worry about the play that counts for points.

IIRC, Zach got the ball off without anyone touching him. Was he under pressure, sure. Did he have the time to just sit in the pocket? No, but he throws 200 passes like that every season under duress. It was a bad throw, a useless throw. Why throw? Run the ball. Get a first down running the ball or punt. So, I'm not saying you aren't right about pressure.

They were still up by 2 touchdowns, so I guess to make the next TD a little harder if they got the onside kick. 
 

Why did they even go for 2? Down 13 or 14 with a minute to go doesn’t really matter

I have yet to hear from O'Shea why the team continues to suffer Kolankowski at center when we have Tui Eli whose history says he would be an instant upgrade at center and take a lot of pressure off the guards.

Finished re-watch.. the oline was fine...B.C has a real good dline and a real good rotation...we lost a few battles but they did fine...and will be better as they get more used to their multiple blocking schemes we use...we are very active on oline this yr

Or do what Streveler did and throw a ball in dirt and not jeopardize a turnover in our own end

Yeah...we got beat a few times...that happens but overall they played fine

Zc should have ate it or threw in stands...that's a rookie error he made

It would be disappointing if a 350 lb guard like Wallace turned out to be useless.... that would be a killer but so far so good. He's a keeper. Line up the Brinks truck, Walters to pay the guy next season. You can't let this guy walk.

If the apocryphal story about Walters having to come down and order O'Shea to bench  the obviously struggling Nichols and put Collaros in is true, it says something very concerning about O'Shea's judgement and seems to foreshadow many of the decisions that have concerned most in this forum since then. O'Shea does many things well, but this foible is a deal-breaker in my opinion. In my career, I assessed people and there is a rule: the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. O'Shea is at the age where his personality structure is set, and he is unlikely to change how he operates.

Was Vanterpool not touted as an eventual replacement for Big Stan? And that day seems to be not all that far away, judging from yesterday's game.

Streveler on one leg in Calgary, looks like his season is done (we also know how that turned out)

Collaros starts the last game of the season.

Unless you mean the off-season choice to part ways with Nichols?

Nichols had already suffered his season ending shoulder injury by the time Collaros became a Bomber.
