259 of those yards when they were down by 3 scores or 2 scores under 3 mins.

This is ******* insane.  The game was over before he moved the ball at all. If you can only play well when you're down 20 points what's the point?  4-14 every year.

Nah that's a pull through.  The DB is completely out of the play, no idea where the ball is, grabs the arm and pulls himself back level with the receiver. That's one of the most blatant PI's you'

Ford either can't...or won't sit in the pocket to let things develop if initial read isnt there....is it he can't read a defense....or he cant make throws from pocket to throw guys open....either way...if he not able to do anything other than school yard stuff I don't see much a future with him as a starting QB...And people say say Strev has a funky throwing motion but Fords is weird as ****....horrible mechanics and I see a shoulder injury coming at some point

He might have the worst mechanics I’ve ever seen from a pro qb. He put up so many floaters last night, he’s eventually going to get one of his recs killed.

Horrible...its like a awkward heave...he can throw on run decently...but as a stationary guy...or walking up in pocket...good gawd!!

Has zero platform to throw from..let alone any base...like he has never been coached ..mind you he came out of CIS so probably had no qb coaching worth a lick

Maybe but a nice balance between money and winning may be preferred by most. It appeared like him leaving to play with his bro was a forgone conclusion. Who knows what/if the Bombers were even given the chance to hit him with their best shot money wise.

I don't think any other team was going to offer him that kind of money. Winning is nice but who is to say where the Elks end up at the end of the season. Bombers didn't start off 2024 very well and still ended up in the Grey Cup. That said we play them next week and need to dig the hole deeper for them.

I predict Hervey gives Ford  2 more games to produce a win before Fajardo gets the start, no reason to dig a giant hole they can't climb out of so early in the season.  Killam will go along with whatever Ed decides, that's his job.

…or give him 2 quarters against our D, so that we can release the hounds on the Faj.

The Faj gonna have that limp in warm ups already

Some.... But not a lot of diehards. A LOT of Fairweather, part time sports fans in AB. A lot of people with blank jerseys.

Your last sentence is so telling. Man our CFL has lots of work to do.

Or his goto warrior shoulder shrug. :)

In fairness, the NHL has a similar problem in Calgary. So many blank jerseys.... A lot of "go local sports teams!" Type people....

He's regressed badly in the past couple years.  Doesn't trust his arm as much as the system they've designed requires.  They use almost no RPO which should be core of any system built around Ford.  He's gotta be on the move and you need to help him get time to pass (not just in terms of the rush but the coverage) by putting the defense off-balance with threat of run, QB run and pass on almost every snap.  He's not going to pinpoint intermediate passes into coverage for receivers, need to create space downfield for him by stopping feet with run threats.

I actually thought last year when he came in that he looked a lot like he was on the way to being a competent passer.  He did alright vs us and we have a very tough D on QB's.  But that offense in general last year was best in the league in the last 2/3 of the season.

Tre played well.  300+ yards, two passing TDS and a rushing TD against a good Al's defense.   They got beat deep twice, while playing in a deep zone.  So not really garbage time stats.

While I do not disagree with your assessment, I take umbrage with the idea that the GM should decide who does or does not play. If the HC does not have the final sayso, then he is a puppet.

Yea. 256 of it was. 308 total. Yeah the majority was garbage time. Ford did not play well. At all. He was bad and continues to be bad but hey nice scramble when it don’t matter.

Ford is starting cuz Canadian. They thought starting him would bring in the fans but turns out he isn’t very good and the fans see this. But at the same time, fajardo probably doesn’t do much better.

He had 125 yards passing through 3 quarters while being outscored 28-6.  He racked up big yards in the 4th - it was the epitome of garbage time.

The following quote is taken from Mark Kilam's thank you card sent to Ed Hervey upon hiring him as HC, the 3rd line being the most pertinent.

Pull the string and I'll wink at you
I'm your puppet
I'll do funny things if you want me to
I'm your puppet.
