2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

Absolutely.....you don't tangle with a legend like Bob....Willson is coming across like a punk who needs his arse kicked

Taking off the Blue tinted glasses ... I still have heard absolutely nothing but praise for Bob over the years and the word "legendary" usually attached to his name.  I've never heard anyone (with exception of Mike Kelly) have a cross word or any sort of negativity attached to Bob.

Wilson? Never heard of him.

Pruned some posts.  Lets get the discussion back to football.  Thanks.

Well I see scrooge has arrived on the scene. Love you. Go Blue!

wilson’s sources; trust me bro.

He’s not gonna find any one in the cfl circles who has a grudge with bob.

Wilson has made good points a couple times this year, but he’s way off more than he’s right.

He’s the tsn version of stephen a, and all that ilk.

Kelly regrets what he did. When you're under a lot of pressure you do & say things you regret later. We've all done that. After 43 years Bomber fans have forgiven Dieter Brock for his behaviour when he demaded his contract be renegotiated, missed training camp & wanted out to go to the NFL. Brock regretted being an ass towards the Bombers & his fans. People get older & they mature. I was pissed at Dieter when that happened but no more. He was pretty clear in his book that he made a mistake & was sorry. I think if fans can forgive Brock then we can give Kelly a break. It's been nearly 20 years.

kelly made a whole lot more than one mistake. I hope he finds a road to better mental health and stability. He certainly doesn’t deserve any thing from bomber fans.

He left a far more significant black eye for the fan base and franchise than Reinbold. Jeff was a colossal screw up football ops wise, but atleast he was a good person who upheld the expectations that come with leadership.

Sports wise, my biggest irritant with him was how he straight armed us fans. Sorry that’s not how a team representing a province works. It was just the oddest and most bizarre thing to do.

Reinebold was just a bad coach with a bad program. Kelly proved to be a terrible human being, blinded by wild arrogance.

have been watching some 1997 Bomber games as CFL Classics has been posting them.

Just watched the Toronto v. Bombers game where Reinebold rolled out Dexter Dawson as a DB.  Pinball and Flutie absolutely pantsed him.

(the offseason is so brutal I can't believe I'm watching 97 Bomber games to get my fix)

Kelly has found a better road. He's found happiness but has regrets for what happened. Brock & his agent Giol Scott were acting like total asshats when he wanted out of Winnipeg. He did what he could to get out of his contract so he could sign as a free agent in the NFL. When he was in LA with the Rams, he wished he was back here with the Bombers.

Yeah, Kelly made some mistakes but he never killed or hurt anyone. He said some dumb things & acted badly. Obviously, he was struggling with both his personal & professional life. I think he was going thru a bad patch in his life. But like I said that was 20 years ago...

Leave it to Hervey to trade someone right over Xmas disrupting his family. Couldn't wait till after New Years.

Ottawa traded for LB Nyles Morgan yesterday. Edmonton gets a 3rd and a 4th.

he’s a solid pick up for what is likely two guys who don’t make edmonton next year.

I really don’t get how teams set value for draft picks in the cfl in relation to starters.

I get edmonton is trying to get as many lotto tickets as possible in hopes of fixing their ni depth, and ott is going to try any thing to be good this year. I just don’t get timing and value.

As far as Kelly goes....I think people in general can forgive someone when they make mistakes....however when someone acts arrogant while making those mistakes....welll it paints that individual with a different brush.....one of being not only arrogant but ignorant.....I hope Kelly has changed his ways....He sure blew it here and a lot of Bomber fans have looong memories....myself being one of them...As far as Brock goes and his insulting comment about the Peg, when he said....'well you can only go to the zoo so many times' hurt a lot of fans.....There's more to the city than what he was intimating and it sure was a bull$hit comment...Anyway...onward and upward as they say ....we all move on

Another CFL great said some bad things about Winnipeg when he was traded to the Argos from the Bombers. D i c k Thornton was angry that he never got a chance to compete for the starting qb position with Ken Ploen (as he thought he was much better) & was an All Canadian Safety with the Bombers.

He once paid a bunch of kids to carry signs around Winnipeg Stadium during a game saying, "We Want Thornton!" His blow ups on the practice field & Coaches office with Bud Grant were well known. Grant grew tired of the guy's antics & traded him to the Argos who were the worst team in the CFL at the time to teach him a lesson during the 1966 season. Thornton said to the Winnipeg media  when he left, "The best thing about Winnipeg are the roads leading out of it."

Interestingly enough, after Grant left Winnipeg at the end of 1966, he contacted Thornton & offered him a SS position on the MInnesota Vikings. The team he took over from Norm Van Brocklin. No offer to try to unseat Joe Kapp was forthcoming from Grant. Thornton declined & stayed with the Argos feeling his chances to make more $$ in the CFL was better than the Vikings as he was established. Thornton, I believe, never had another thing more to do with the Blue Bombers even as an Alumni.

Morgan was almost certainly home with his loved ones, so the disruption would be minimal, if at all.

Yes, we all make mistakes, but if someone repeats the same mistakes over a long period in defiance of negative consequences for self or others, it is a core personality facet and unlikely to change.

Like being fired at Xmas by your boss. It just isn't done. Till the first or 2nd week of january. Let players, like employees have Xmas with their families.

I got a job transfer to Calgary in 1990. Let me tell you that it was one of the most stressful things our family ever went thru. It took months to get settled plus my wife was pregnant & due in three months.

Fair enough. I guess I don't see how getting the news on Jan. 2 makes it that much different.

We got all of our anger against Dieter out of our system watching Tyrone Jones destroy him in the 1984 Grey Cup.

I was dancing the rest of the game once the Bombers wiped out that Ti Cat lead.

say what you will about Kelly, the Fred Reid game in BC will always live in my memory ... watched it on a cheap little laptop from a hotel balcony in istanbul, drinking raki.  Poor Javier Glatt.  I was astonished he still had a career after chasing fast Freddie around all day.

Mike used to have a great avvy of Phil Hunt about to obliterate Kevin Glenn.  Wonder if one could make a similar one for Jones vs Brock
