2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

Nield isn't a guy to change much about a receiving corps. Emilus though, yeah I think he's a pretty under rated guy around the league.

lol....my point was all rider fans were saying "Those players are all going to want raises, good luck with that Walters"

Trevor Harris is 40 years old and stayed healthy.... we think that's gonna repeat or that he won't fall off a cliff at some point? Or maybe even retire.

Sounds like he's really contemplating retirement. And who can blame him? Going out on top isn't always possible and this is likely his only chance.

If you had Demski, Clercius and Nield at WR, you could go 3 american Olinemen and you might be better overall.

Clercius didn't really take a step forward this year.

Nield is fine depth but wouldn't want him starting.

thats why you pooch Kramdi...Holm...Thomas...and free up over 500k right there on defence,  use entry level studs...or first contract guys already inhouse to man those spots....easily done

C'mon. Those 3 aren't earning a combined $500K. Closer to $375K-$400K  range.  Even if that were true, you have to replace them with 3 other players. On ELC's that's still $74K per player.

I'd get rid of Logan.

ME too. IMO Logan, Schoen and Mitchell shouldn't be back.

I think 375K-400K is a good approximation.

Holm was outstanding this year - and I have no problem with him and his salary.

Kramdi at ~135K is too much - but he can play - but he is definitely not elite.

Thomas - serviceable back in his first 6 years or so, but has really, really declined - and is a detriment physically to the play of the D -Line now. I appreciate his heart, and his dedication to the Bombers, and should be moved to a non-playing position - maybe learning how to coach, or perhaps the back/front office.

Combined income of 380k according to press reports at the time of their signings. Replacing them with 3 rookies you are looking at 220k and losing a NAT starter and all star DB. Probably not where I would trim the roster with the exception of Thomas. There are 8 other teams in this league that would jump at Kramdi at 135k. That is not a high contract for a NAT at all.

close to , a shade under..I was thinking Nichols salary...over 300k and for Holm and Kramdi.....prob a good 130k at minimum for Jake....still....thats 450k better used elsewhere

Schoen wont even be physically ready to start any real kind of practicing until late season...he shouldnt even be considered for 2026...of ever

and let them jump at him

Kramdi 151,000+Nichols-142,000= That"s 293, 000. I'll say Jake makes over 107,000 so 400,00-425,000 ish.

Yeah I will be blown away if I ever see Schoen and or Streveler playing in the CFL again. Which is a true shame.

Dunno if I'd ever count Strev out ,anywhere. But I fear the worst with both dudes. Sad.

Streveler & Schoen can play elsewhere. If we bring them back we're in big, big trouble.

I might give Dalton a shot but only after making as sure as I can be that he’s not gonna get hurt again and he’s willing to maybe PR at first. Cuz if he’s healthy, who knows if he ever will be right but if he’s healthy and that takes 9 10 11 months to do so? And then he’s good to go. I’d give him a shot man. Streveler? Yeah he’s done but he’d prob make a good coach of some kind.

It would be a huge risk signing one or both with the multiple knee injuries they have suffered in a salary cap world. Losing them again would have serious negative implications that it really isn't worth it anymore. It's to the point that it's not a matter of if but when they reinjure themselves again. And I feel I can speak of this based on the knee injuries I suffered when I was younger & the 2 knee replacements as well.

Toss in Holms money...wayyyy too much for 4 guys..2..if not 3 of easily replaced

As for schoen and strev...neither should be considered by any organization next yr...schoen maybe outside chance for last quarter of season but the smart thing is to take the yr off...Streveler too...

maxie not gonna be back in edm, i’d love to see him coaching our dl.

Realistically hes not going to be 100% until 2027. I just dont see any CFL team having interest.

When they played him at WR & not inside. I've seen Galapagos tortoises with more speeds & moves than him.

At their age, taking that year of means both careers are over. Both have had multiple knee injuroes to the same joint. One is bad  enough but 2?

I don’t think he will be his new 100%, and we have no idea how effective his new 100% will be. If he’s a great locker room guy maybe you bring him in with the expectation he sits on the 6 for the min, unless he suddenly looks like some one you want to involve.

He might be in a tc next year, but i think he will be out of the league. Such a damn shame.

I mean davis was a short yardage qb for ages, but he was actually really good at straight away qb keepers. It’s very possible he has work this coming season.

The qb talent pool in the league is hot garbage rn.

Its hard though to be out of football a year and come back. Even more so if you haven played well in a long while.

One hit to the knees & both guys are done. Again. Bringing them back even after a 2 year absence is madness. Time to let them go. Rehab whatever they are entitled to & then cut them.

I also like Nield from Sask..thought he came up with some clutch catches..would add depth at least.

Nield would be a welcome addition here. He can run downfield & make contested catches. Clercius is a tank. And runs like one.

Can any former Rider receivers ever find happiness in the Blue & Gold? Would we Bomber fans accept Emilus or Nield? Look how hard it was for both Ryan Smith & Weston Dressler to play here. There was always a small group of Bomber fans who never forgave them for being former Riders.
