2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

Riders are doing great for now,  Harris tends to get hurt once the weather gets a bit cooler and his production then tanks.  We will see how things go.

Pssst, they be 7-1......end of story.

Psst, in the cfl, the real season starts on LD. We’ve seen red hot starts from them and bc before with poor stretch runs.

Sask has been notorious for the late season collapse the last few seasons.

2022 - 4-1 start, finished 6-12

2023 - 6-5 start, finished 6-12

2024 - 5-1 start, finished 9-8-1

But 7-1 is their best start since they won the Grey Cup in 2013. It really all depends on whether Trevor Harris stays healthy.

I get that, but here is why it isn't just hate from me.

1, they've been beating up on teams like that, Montreal with no rb or qb.

2, They have the 2nd most points in the league, but their offense is mid-pack for TDS and bottom tier for FGs.

3, they have bad teams' cover play with unreliable k/p.

4, Their O is mid-pack in first downs, and their D is bottom tier in giving up among the most.

5, Their D is in the bottom tier for giving up TD drives, and only slightly better at forcing turnovers.

6, Discipline. They are the most penalized team in the league once again.

7, They are reliant on a bunch of old guys who have been pretty healthy so far. Harris, Micah, Rose, Hardrick, etc. McEwen and some WRs have been banged up. But in a league where every QB is hurt, and you have an old guy in Harris who's been healthy, it is just a matter of time until an injury hits that hurts their roster.

8, Ssk, is squeezing out a lot of close wins over banged-up teams.

Finally, coaching. I think Mace is along for the ride on that roster. He's a good defensive coach, but he isn't the leader capable of getting that team to play disciplined, smart ball.

They have a well-rounded offence, with a very good OL. It has the highest yards per play and the most big plays. They also have the best pressure front in the league. They are a good team. But they are a team that is peaking in the first 1/3 of the season. It is extremely rare, especially in the West, for that to pan out long-term. Montreal and Toronto are going to get a lot better when they get QBs back. Hamilton is already better.

The riders probably have the best chance in the West of being a good team for an extended period of time. If Harris keeps playing. But I think they are a coaching change away from being a real GC contender.

A well rounded argument and I do agree with most of your points. However let's see what things look like say end of September after our back to back with the Riders. IMHO I do not believe the Bombers will be much better then they are today so time will tell.

At this point, unless some thing drastic happens I expect ssk to hand us our asses. Unfortunately, we are no longer the standard bearers for success either in the league or west.

3D had an article about how the Riders have sold out Labour Day and that its their first sell out of the year. Meanwhile we are at all 4 sold out this year with 9 in a row. I'm just saying us fans have brought it this year. Flowers to all of us.

Are there seriously only singles left for the 14th or is my Ticketmaster broken?

Last I heard it was nearly sold out... Wouldn't surprise me if it was down to singles.

I think anyone could see that the Riders will go as far as Harris can take them. He is a good QB WHEN HEALTHY....and there is the rub. The guy is 40 years old and the chances of him finishing this season have got to be pretty low. He has been a faberge egg over the past several years and that was always going to be the Riders achilles heel this season. I really honestly believe that Harris will not last the season, and I'm not cheering for a QB injury to anyone, but that is the likely reality. Are they kind of smoke and mirrors? Yea....they aren't as impressive as their record but their record is all that matters in the end. I just don't believe for one second that they can keep it up down the stretch. Like you, I would be shocked if they were the hot hand by seasons end.

I don't think SSK is particularly well built to hand us our asses. However, I don't think we are particularly well built to hand them theres either. I expect a couple of close games with the football gods likely deciding both of them.

Couple more lil tweeks and I can see us managing them quite well....and even our at times piss poor coaching may not kill us as I still think Mace is even more clueless...and that team is still super undisciplined

We got a few games yet to get our house in order...so we shall see but based on record right now...they are best....over the course of yr tho and how it all shales out...I have my doubts.....specifically for 3 reasons...Harris factor....guys never won...Mace....and their undisciplined play and believing their own hype

I do hope tho they claim 1st and we kill their hopes and dreams again at PA west....again haha

I am hoping that we can get a little more disciplined ourselves, We have been making egregious mental errors on both sides of the ball all season.

I mean better than Corcoran

Id take him immediately...gives us actual depth and guy can be a playmaker too...Corcoran I currently can't see ever being a real playmaker

Yeah, it’d be a nice ad for us. especially with Demski getting a little nicked last week.

He'd be solid depth. I'm expecting Murphy to get a call out to come out of retirement though.

What Rory Kolhert doing?

I bet Julian Feoli-Gudino is pretty healthy...

Has it really come down to us pining for Hergy Mayala. Not saying any of you are wrong about it, just kind of hits home you know.

I know politics is taboo so delete if required but Premier Brad Wall is rushing a bill through his legislature before Labor Day to outlaw the reverse cowgirl position.

He said he wants the fans coming from Winnipeg to know that Saskatchewan is not a province that will ever turn its back to family.

I dont know...Canadian receiver who has put up two 500+ yard seasons with 5 td's...one in only 12 games....Not sure he wouldn't offer more than Corcoran...Cobb...and be nice depth...also a guy who has had made big explosion plays

Don't really see Cobb or Corcoran ever being that kind of guy...if you not trying to get better and find guys...what the hell are we doing?
