I hope it's nice. I'm getting a nice treat that game. Was nominated for coach of the week. My club (Rods) get $500 donation and I'm getting a $100 GC to the Bomber store and get to go on the field for

As I said to 17. Quote where I said people shouldn't talk about it.

Sure but it seems you’re implying it. Anyways go Bombers.

Sorry, can you quote the part where I said people aren't allowed to talk about it? Or are we ONLY allowed to talk about roster management and how undeniably shitty things are with this 5-4 team. And how hopeless it all is. Would that be better? Am I being too positive for you? Id start a thread about how mos isnt going anywhere but im sure you'd start talking about roster management in it again, so I won't.

So then what the hell is your point? Everyone knows osh ain't getting fired but it's a big issue for the team so it gets brought up... that's how message boards work...

And I'll reply with whatever I want. Thats how message boards work.

you're still not making sense, explain how people have lost touch with reality because osh isn't getting fired.... I mean everything is just hunky dory with the roster? no issues at all?

You keep saying this but it's not really true.

I went back and looked at the draft history  since 2015 and we are above the league average when it comes to retaining our OL draft picks beyond their rookie deals.  I only looked at the first 2 rounds so the numbers could be better or worse overall but I was looking at the top rated OL (excluding guys who fell due to NFL interest).  It was surprising how few actually last past 3 years with their original team.

  • BC - 6 OL drafted, only one stayed past their rookie deal (Godber).
  • EDM - 5 OL drafted, only one stayed past their rookie deal (Beard).
  • CAL - 3 OL drafted and 2 have stayed past their rookie deal (Sceviour & Bell).  I was a bit surprised at how few high draft picks the Stamps have used on OL.
  • SSK - 5 OL drafted, only one stayed past their rookie deal (Fry).
  • WPG - 6 OL drafted, 3 stayed past their rookie deals (Chungh, Couture, Gray). Dobson, Desjarlais & Spooner are the ones who didn't play at least 4 seasons with us.
  • HAM - 5 OL drafted & 2 have stayed beyond rookie deal (Revenberg & Woodmansey).
  • TOR - 9 OL drafter with 5 staying past their rookie deal (McEwen, Sackey, Hunter, Richards, Nicastro).  They also still have Doxtater that they drafted in 2021 but he bounced around down south so he's only in year 2 with them.
  • OTT - 7 OL drafted with 3 staying past their rookie deal (Mateas, Lauzon-Seguin, Pelehos).
  • MTL - 6 drafted, only 1 has stayed past their rookie deal (Lestage).

Why go back to 2015 as it has absolutely nothing to do with our team in 2025. I think the only holdover from that year is OL Pat Neufeld. I'd be interested to know the same stats from 2021 or 22.

Our depth or lack thereof...poor use of assets and a lot of in game decisions is roster management...and yeah...it is undeniably poor if not shitty...there is no dispute of that...And it's on the HC...And has been an issue really now for 3 straight yrs and reason we lost 3 straight cups pretty much...Ignoring it and glossing over things with a win is just accepting we are not trying to be better, and will likely fall flat again...I agree MOS aint going anywhere this yr....but another flop....from common issues from before....moving on wouldn't be the worst thing...we will be just fine...People think that if he is gone we will sporal intot he pit of crap again...won't happen because we have a guy leading the team (Miller) who isnt an idiot

Lack of depth is on O’Shea? Honestly. What the **** does Walters do then. O’Shea is out there every day taking stupid questions from our stupid media. Out there pre and post game. When the **** was the last time Walters said anything? Lack of depth isn’t on O’Shea. It’s on Walters. You complain literally about everything. Won’t be happy until it’s done exactly your way but looking at the roster, and the PR, where are these extra receivers we could dress? Woods on the DL would be nice but he’s still hurt I guess. I mean they are non existent. Cobb who will be released soon and a dude we brought in 2 weeks ago.

where is all this depth that O’Shea can pick from cuz I don’t see it.  Lack of depth on the coach? I’m pretty sure it’s the GMs job to give him options but guess what our gm didn’t. Our gm actually gave Thomas a new contract this off season. Same with Kyrie Wilson. He gave Korn one also. You always bring everything  back to O’Shea when in reality the things fans should be complaining about happened in the off season. The lack of depth is on the GM. O’Shea literally has zero options in certain spots. But Cobb but Cobb but Cobb, complaining about backups to backups here. Worrying about who 3rd string is when 1 st string is underwhelming in areas. How is signing players not on the gm. The gm signs players and that improves your depth. The gm doesn’t and here we are.

Person wasn't on the roster to start when based on play when he did get in should have been. Same deal with Allen... so is Walters not bringing in good players or is osh not putting them on the roster? Here we go again.

who puts players on the PR....and roster?...who schemes for depth in key spots on roster and PR where injuries are more prevalent....it's not Walters

Depth and lack of it in areas is on the guy who sets the roster...again...who sets the roster...and who cut guys to create the roster and PR...Oh yeah...the HC

Has Walters slipped in bringing guys in...yeah, but also it's not him out there either...it's his scouting staff who bring guys to the teams attention based on what the "Coach" wants....thats how it works...coach says what he wants in terms of players....scouts go out and try and find them...G.M signs them...and HC sorts it out....thats how it works

SAo throwing all the blame at Walter's is just a garbage argument....It's a collective thing, and there is a way a team goes about it...But at end of the day the roster and PR and who they decide to have a "fake" injury and if they agree to being "hurt" is all on the HC...That's the way it works...and has always worked...on any team

You had times like in Ottawa for example where the Owner (Giebermans) dictated who played....who they wanted on roster amoung other stupid stuff...and well how did that turn out...They folded

I assume your lil rant was directed at me cause you take issue with everything I say....

Round and round we go....players who play and get on roster is the HC choice...not G.M...see previous post

I went back 10 years for historical context and a bigger sample size.  Why bring up Neufeld when talking about our players you say we draft & develop for other teams?  We didn't draft him so he'd be an example of how this happens for other teams as well - Riders drafted him but only got 2.5 seasons out of him before we traded for him.

Just looking at 2021-2022 is harder as many of those players could be or are still under their rookie deals & some haven't come north yet so to increase sample size that I didn't look at just OL drafted in the 1st 2 rounds & their status.  Here's what I got.

2021:

Hamilton had 3 picks.  2 players (Jake Burt & Nick Cross) are out of football & the 3rd (Deane Leonard) has never come north. 0/3 so far but Leonard is TBD as they still have his rights should he come up from the NFL.

Sask had 2 picks (Lokombo & Jana).  Lokombo is still there but Jana retired after his rookie season. 1/2

Wpg had 2 (Dobson & Kramdi).  1/2, no explanation needed here.

BC had 2 picks (Joseph & Jackson).  0/2 (for now) - Joseph got cut in camp as a rookie & is now with Edmonton.  Jackson has been in the NFL so they've got nothing yet but TBD on him.

Edm had 2 picks (Nelson & McDonald) & both guys are out of football now. 0/2 - they got 3 seasons from Nelson & 1 season from McDonald.

Ott had 2 picks (Stevens & Addae).  1/2 - Addae is still there but Stevens left after his rookie deal (now with Sask).

Tor had 2 picks and they are 2/2 for now.  Nicastro is still there and so is Doxtater but he's only on year 2 of his rookie deal as he spent time in the NFL, UFL & XFL before coming up.  TBD whether or not they keep him past his rookie deal.

Cal had 2 picks and is 1/2 at the moment.  Ogbongbemiga hasn't come to the CFL yet so they haven't gotten anything from him yet while Bell is still with the team.

Mtl only had 1 pick (Lestage) and he's still there so 1/1.

18 drafted players- 5 are out of football, 7 with their original team (1 still on a rookie deal), 3 with other CFL teams & 3 have never come north.

2022 (CFL added the 2 bonus picks for being terrible this year so 20 picks instead of 18):

Mtl had 3 picks, 2 (Richards & Philpot) are still there while Brown left after 2 seasons.  2/3

Ott had 3 picks but only has Pelehos playing for them.  Hogan-Saindon left after his rookie deal & Luketa has not come north.  1/3 for the moment.

BC had 2 picks & is 1/2.  Cherry is there but Zerr was gone after 1 season.

Edm had 3 picks and is 2/3.  Makonzo is gonzo but they have Ford & Plamandon

Cal went 1/2 - Philpot is there but Schakel only lasted 1 season.

Tor went 0/3.  Mackellar & Adebobye left after their rookie deal while Knight got poached of their PR in his 3rd season.

Sask is 2/2.  Emilus & Fry are both still with the team.

Wpg is 0/1 with Ford leaving after his rookie deal

Ham is also 0/1 with Federico only lasting 2 seasons with them.

20 players - 9 are with their original team, 10 are with new teams & 1 is in the NFL.

It looks pretty even to me - no team is perfect so losing players for whatever reason is just part of the crapshoot that is the CFL draft.

Are there any Rec sitting at home the Bombers can bring in?

With experience and some semblance of success and was in a camp this yr?.....all I can think of is White Jr really.....Hollins was there for the taking.....Mayala and Hakannuva or whatever his name is...tho those guys be what you want for depth (better tha Corcoran anyway) but we missed boat on them as we stood pat thinking we were good

They could have also seen how we roster guys here and declined too....there is that aspect and it wasnt like we were looking like a team on the rise

I know it will be Tuesday before we hear updates but a few thoughts:

1. I hope they don't rush Schoen back. No medical knowledge but he just has not seemed 100% healthy all year.

2. A WR corps of Wheatfall, Clercius, Corcoran, Mitchell, Cobb and that kid we signed last month is horrible looking on paper and scary af.

3. Walters has dropped the ball on the WR position this year. Even if they had picked up Hollins and say Mayala, we'd be in better shape.

Osh isn't getting fired. Walters just might though.

Any receiver with an ounce of self confidence wouldn't give a fig about our roster usage. This team represents any receivers best chance at starting.

Usually GMs get to make decisions on coaches. @GCn20 do you think Wade would fire Walters, hire a new GM but tell said GM Hire that Osh stays?

I am frustrated by both MOS and KW this year but I'm not advocating they get fired, nor do I think they will.

It's ludicrous to think that a gm will ever get fired before a head coach anyway.

when they see how Mitchell kept getting bypassed....and the chance they may not get much for reps, and affect possible future dollars...yeah they will give a frig....also....we were looking like a total tire fire too...who wants to jump into that?

no new g,m would want that scenario....well one worth a ounce of spit wouldnt

we talking next yr....not mid season....mid season firings really do nothing

Next yr tho...with another unsuccessful season.....it cant be off the table the discussion to move on....not doing so would be a disservice to the team and fans

coach...then player purge always comes first...unless you do a  total reboot...then u wipe em all clean

The meat of our season is in the next 3 weeks. Skn, Skn, Ham. BC's got Tor, Ott, Ott. Cgy has Skn, Edm, Edm. The likely result is that were looking at a cross-over.

Collaros is usually at his absolute best vs. The green assholes.

Fun fact, despite being 3 games back of the Riders right now, the Bombers actually control their own destiny for a home playoff game. They also have a game and a half cushion over the Lions right now.

Nooooooo. A recipe for conflict and disaster.

One way or another, the chances of the Bombers going to the Grey Cup game are very, very small, and firing the coach and/or GM midseason would send a message.

Ya... That we're an absolute clown show organization that you should never work for....

I guess at this point one needs to ask the question.... does Calgary just have this teams number and maybe it's not all that bad?
