Curious to see who steps up in the receiver battle.

Really excited to see how things progress. A lot of good prospects on the defensive side of the ball. Want to see one or two vintage plays from Schoen to see that he still has it and then hoping to see some of the young receivers step up. Battle for 3rd string QB looks interesting too, Wilson will probably get it but really liked what I saw from number 16.

With Zach suspended week 2 or game 1 for us, they will all stick around likely. LB DL and WR are the spots to watch. And can Cooley do it again. And OL but that’s tough on regular tv never mind riders in stadium camera. We will also get the rider radio guys.  A hunch tells me Zach signed an extension cuz bombers know Strev and Wilson aren’t the next one. They could be transitional to artoepoeus or even Elgersma if/when he arrives. Shay Novak Smith will be fun to watch. Ayers also as he’s stood out when on the field. So far the 2 camp studs appear to be Cooley on O and Allen on D. These are the Duane slay nominees.

Sterns had good reviews early in TC including Zach's praise, but didn't show much in PS#1, hope he steps up and shows what he can do.  Question is, how much the Bombers want to invest in small shifty receivers.

Dillon Mitchell needs to do something no? Tough time I think keeping him if he’s outshined by rooks and 2nd year guys. I think you keep the guys Zach likes regardless tho.

Zachs praise means something tho. Dude needs to like you. All things being equal you keep the receivers Zach likes. And right now argument could be made nobody has stepped up and taken a receiver spot or 2. So intangibles like chemistry with Zach. Run blocking ability and just versatility really will help. Myron Mitchell being able to return kicks? I think that helps his cause. They should be trying guys on kick returns tonight. Not just extra db Vaval. RWJ is apparently an excellent run blocker so he’s got some versatility in his game. Sterns also but Zach and Jaylyn Hall seem to have the all important chemistry on the field. But If pokey was cut today, he’s starting here cuz nobody outside of Myron Mitchell has really stepped up. 
 

Schoen Demski Clercius plus 2 newbs or lord keric plus 1 more. Who?Unless we start Cooley (Logan) in a 2 back set, we got a spot there plus backup likely Canadian (Corcoran) and prob Cobb for that matter. My guess. RWJ starts.

Key guys/positions to watch for me :

Gowan/Vaval/parker. Db is deep and we have few openings. Still maybe 1 job up for grabs, and maybe a KR job to be grabbed. Gowan and Vaval look too good to straight cut. Should be a good one. 

Shay/Smith should get more reps on D this week, really look forward to seeing more of them. 

Ayers. All he does is excel, but it looks like he is up creek with out a paddle roster wise. 

Person and Bailey. Person looked good in limited reps last week, Bailey didn't see a ton of snaps both had strong camps. We likely DI one DL, going to be a battle for that spot. Bailey has a big inside track as a 2nd global. 

Adams/ woods / pointer. Adams played the best of these 3, and pointer second. Which is a suprise, considering how good woods was last year. 

lawson to see how he shakes the rust off, and shout out to 92 davis the kid from the riffles who got a little shine in camp. Only been playing football a couple years but doesn't show it. 

Wallace,Vanterpool and randolph. The final shoot out for the starting ol jobs. 

white/mitchell and mitchell. The finale of the under whelming wr core position battle. Some one needs to step up, or we need them to any way. 

Cooley, the front runner for PS MVP. 

Zach and strev, can we get a td or two please?

I'm excited for Wheatfall. Seems like he has upped his game to be a bit  more dynamic.

Looking forward to seeing Strev build on last week and really put together some nice drives. Continue to show that he can be an actual QB and win games for us.

D.Mitchell definitely needs to up his game a lot, but it would take a pretty big performance from someone else to see him cut imo.

His salary is the biggest thing against him. If he’s going to be a 5/6 guy we can’t be paying him to be a 2/3 guy. I feel like we have enough guys that can “get the job done” on the bottom of our depth chart that it’s pretty hard to justify the salary.

Yeah he was a receiver who stood out based purely on preseason 1, which include my opinion is a good thing for a 2nd year player. Thought he looked like he could play a role.

We've already paid a lot of his salary. What's left owing is basically minimum contract or even slighty less. At this point his salary is a non factor.

Like $700 per week.

The decision on receivers has to be who fits the offense best mostly meaning who works best with the QB's.

Kind of in a bind if our returner isn't an offensive player so it would be nice if a guy like Stearns saw that as a path to make the team and refused to take no for an answer on getting reps on punts.
