I also think part of the recruiting and player movement is because the HC doesn't wanna accept that some guys are needing to be swapped out...or that we have personnel issues...as he trumpets it repeatedly how they are all starter quality and here for a reason yet he will trot out injured guys over this apparent "depth" or play past their prime guys with prime time reps...that's where our roster...and eroded depth issues come from...and it's been slowly eroding us...not sure wtf the dynamics are with our management structure and HC's pull/influence but it's time for the G.M and to an extent the President...as he has football knowledge to be the bosses and have final say...How elite teams operate

Chris Smith was the only returner worth a damn last year and was cut.  Came back from injury, re-signed, and was promptly banned to the PR for the rest of the season.  Instead we got lame-leg Lucky returning the ball the rest of the year.

Finding players and using players… our favourite topic but it’s true.

I was down south in the maga belt for work during the campaign and his win. Then till now a good chunk of the people I know who voted for him are even embarrassed and regret it. 
 I don’t even want to think about how many ways this could impact the cfl in a negative way. I’ve been working on crazy lil impact preparations for things that no one would expect to be impacted. 
 

175k for schoen 225 for mcinnis. I’d say that means lawler and Gino are in for low 200k range. 

I thought McInnis got 250k?

The biggest problem is the Canadian dollar & its devaluation & taxes on both sides of the border. We may have to readjust the salary cap & pay players in US Funds. You can't expect to sign any player tocome up here for a $150,000 one year deal & in the US it's worth less than a hundred grand. Or to offer a CFL minimum deal & the US money is worth half to 2/3 of what these American players signed for .

I'm asking him a legit question. He can read it. He responds to other posts when I don't tag him. Why would someone roll his eyes when the discussion comes to scouting & recruiting areas of need? It's not being weird to ask a question except the way I went about it. I can't make him answer if he doesn't want to.

How much does Vaughters have left in the tank? The Stamps DL was invisible last year. The worst in the CFL.

Well...ours was no hell...he offers more than Jake..Schmeck...that's a given...but yeah who knows...never payeed much attention to them last yr...he's not old by any stretch...guess TBD 

Vaughters is very similar DE to Jeffcoat in style of play. Not sure what he's got in the tank, but I like the move. Last year the Stamps DL was on the field a lot and got worn out imo

Trump's trade policies will end up being good for CFL players if they are sustained.  Tariffs and any potential reduced trade deficits will drop the US dollar.  Issue for Canada will be the price of oil and where that lands to determine what our dollar is worth.

They'll be fighting the US on income tax increases.  Might see even more guys staying in Canada.

A trade war could be good for the cfl in one regard.  All things Canadian may be a lot more fashionable this season then in seasons past.

Vaughters didn't have a lot of help. Rose had a down year. Howsare was just horrible.
