Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

Is White injured or something?

Can't wait until we lose some of our prospects off the PR right before Kyrie gets hurt again.

When was the last time we actually lost someone off the PR?

He’s coming off one I believe but honestly, he didn’t do much either. Theme with the new recruits to the roster. Dillon Mitchell did nothing either. If you basing it on pre season Wheatfall and Myron Mitchell but Zach must like Sterns better so there it is. And I’m good keeping sterns over Myron Mitchell. I feel because ppl dislike sterns he’s gonna be a good one. I think Zach likes him and that matters.

Receivers - Schoen, Mitchell, Sterns, Clercius, Demski, Cocoran ?

I'd say Wheatfall for Mitchell...Mitchell will be returner/backup...well should be until logan is ready

Lol the last few years we've nothing but all stars to TC to watch them get cut. It's like people forget who this regime is from time to time.

3x in a row failures is what they currently are if you look at it reasonably tho...and due to the same reasons in all 3...does that not define insanity...or is it stubborn stupidity...nobody is saying all camp cuts are all stars...but many are younger..more athletic...possible huge upside...and if given opportunity will flourish...we continue to maintain status quo with older...declining...zero upside...some who were average when in "prime" and then get burned come injury issue with zero depth in waiting...or lack of faith in the bottom of roster and play hurt guys...guess our next sign of normalcy will be that again when it counts and guys are hurt

Last camp Wheatfall and Wilson combined for 13 yards receiving on 9 targets.  They don't always have to fly off the page like Schoen did his rookie year in order to be worth developing. But i'm not going to complain too much about the receivers we've kept around. Im very please with how Wheatfall looks and in all honesty we could have an embarrassment of riches in a month or two when Wilson is back.

The knock on Sterns is that he seems to do everything right but he doesn't seem to come up with catches that go anywhere beyond base level difficulty.

I guess the disappointment comes from seeing other teams cut aging vets who weren’t as good as the younger guy and you look at the DL and you see Jake schmek korn and you can’t help but know Toronto would cut all 3. Calgary would also. Edmonton. Sask. they all would. Kyrie Wilson also. He’d be cut. I’m not arguing receivers. Receivers weren’t good, that’s perhaps scouting but pointer and Webb looked good on the DL. I’d say so did person but he’s on the PR. As is Woodbey Allen and Cooley who I’d say were the pre season stand outs. So we kept a couple intriguing prospects. Just hoped we’d find a few more D Tackle types. Don’t need 3 Jake’s on the DL.

Yes I forgot Wheatfall.

I’m not even sure who you are upset got cut here? Nobody likes the Cdn DTs beyond Lawson, but it’s not like they cut a bunch of Cdn DTs that showed better.

The American dlineman cut would have been nice to keep but Willie, Woods, Adams, Vaughters, Person for the American 3 dline spots looks good.

They kept a the American LBs in Ayers and JJones.

No American rookie receiver jumped off the page.

Disappointed Gowan couldn’t grab the corner spot but he didn’t quite look shutdown in Sask.

Dandy was way better in the games.

I expect we will see him again here or somewhere else.

The roster numbers indicate there will still be some shuffling before game 1.

23 Canadians

24 Americans

3 Quarterbacks

2 Global

That's 52 players total, plus 3 in the IR and Collaros suspended.

It's likely they will move 4 Americans and 3 Canadians to the IR. I think Makonzo and Lofton are both hurt but not officially on IR so they will probably be moved there. I suspect they will also stash Kornelson and Novak. 3 more Americans have to go to the IR. I don't know of anyone being hurt. Candidates could be Ayers, one of the Jones LBs, Griffin, or an American receiver such as Mitchell or Sterns. They could also stash an American OL on the IR and start 3 Canadians.

The thing we don't know is which players were offered PR spots and turned them down.

As it stands right now it looks like we are in fact going with 3 americans on the offensive line to start the season.

8 OL there. 40 LBs. way 2 many Jake Thomas types on the DL.

MOS dream roster. Just 52 Canadian linebackers

So…

Brady Demski Clercius 2 OL Kramdi Lawson and or but you know it’s and at this point Jake. Makes it 8. Id start Wallace so Lawson doesn’t have to ;)

Sterns is going into his third year and is a jag. I see no upside there.

Why are we see wedded to shifty Canadian DTs?

No receivers really stood out tho. Perhaps recruiting sucks. Sterns if nothing else has cfl experience. The scouting budget took a hit no and we lost a few of our regulars. Perhaps it showed there.

Aren't we able to play an American over Lawson and crew for 49% of the snaps with Willie Jefferson qualifying as a Nationalized American?

Does Osh use that.

I would genuinely love for someone in the media to ask why we spend all offseason recruiting American players to have one rookie crack our active roster.

I know that’s an oversimplification but man … it’s gotta be frustrating for the front office. Backup DB/returner is all you see from all your efforts during the offseason? Sure, things will change as the season goes on but woof.

Wasn't Weitz hurt? We only need to roster 1 Global player. We can roster 1 more in lieu of a Canadian. That being said I'm still surprised Munier-Bailey didn't make the active roster given our DE depth

Won’t make changes for injured lists until later in the week.

One rookie cracked the lineup? Moose players are in awe of that stat 🤣

Last time we had a week 1 bye we swapped out half our DL and receivers of the guys who “made the team.”

The best rookies from camp may not have made the active roster but Cooley, Woodbey, Cam Allen, and Jay Person were our best new players and they all stuck around on the PR. They'll probably get their shot on the active roster at some point.

There’s definitely some shuffling to be done, injured lists will come out at some point … gotta imagine one of, if not both, of Person/Bailey are on the roster week 2.

Well they signed a pretty big number of free agents. Although all of those guys probably don’t deserve to make the team, like Stearns I personally don’t see a need/fit for.  Mitchell has a track record so you’re hoping he can be the 1300 yard pace guy.  White looked good to me in the home game.

Also pretty good number of guys going into year 2.  Like say a Wheatfall.  I hope his pre-season dominance carries over…QBs seem to love him.

I don’t think we want a pile of rookies starting…really searching for the depth to fill in when needed and take spots maybe next year when some others need to get paid.  It’s easy for the rookies to look good because it’s like meeting someone for the first time…you see all the good and upside.  We know the warts on the old guys and the excitement is gone.  But not the best barometer for long-term success.
