Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

and actually allows Strev to take reps and ownership of the actual offence and schemes...mind you if he wasn't assured that he wouldn't have signed anyway....but this is a positive thing anyway you slice it

If game 1 drive 1 starts with strev in an empty back set followed by him running QB power for 1 yard, it's gonna be a long season. If he drops back to pass with a deep route as much as he runs, it's gonna be a gooder.

Or any combination of play actions...roll outs....sprint outs...and just standing in pocket until he "needs" to run....

I really don't want Strev throwing a ton of deep shots, it's not his game. However, he's gotta throw some long ones to keep the D honest. If he isn't a risk to throw he won't be able to run either. Last year was just insanity how we used him. He just got corked every game because they knew he wasn't throwing anything over 7 yards so they just set up a picket fence and teed off whenever he tried to run.

has to take them when they are there...and/or if defence is cheating up....If he is allowed to run a diversified spread style offence...non-telegraphed play action/RPO stuff and moves the pocket to give threat of taking off...he will be just fine taking whats there and things will open up....Why Buck never did that was beyond me

Nothing wrong with his deep throws at all, he threw a couple beauties in the NFL. It's all the former lapo-buck tomfoolery with him.

He can't survive in an offence with deep routes, no one can in the CFL. We saw lots of that last year where everyone runs a 5-yard out and the D runs downhill, making an easy play.

Hi, I know somebody posted the training camp schedule in here somewhere but I can't find it.

Can somebody repost?

Thank you

and he did here too...and nice intermediate shots too....Grey cup TD.....Augustine shot in BB when he sucked defence in with a fake run....off top my head....also run his college game film...many many beauty passes...and a lot of huge runs because teams had to respect the pass.....as mentioned here many times..Lapo-Buck once it became obvious he could run and make hay with his legs...when opportunity called for it...almost ruined him...and definitely stunted his progression

Also what QB of recent memory up here lingered as long as he did in the NFL...Actually on a roster and getting play time?....There is a reason for it and NFL pratcices..as well as assessing a guy is wayyyy more intense and productive as it is up here....You dont stick around....and they definitely dont keep around a player....especially a QB who lacks in any aspect of their position...they just dont....you get chewed up and spat out in short order...An engaged....fully utilzed and integrated Streveler along with whatever ZC has left in him is our best shot at Cup #3 in 6 yrs

I'm almost in the camp now with a few things I have gleened that the changeover with coaching and OC here may actually bring a bit of a renaissance with ZC as well.....we shall see

He can spread the D just fine with regular intermediate routes, short passes to the flats, with just the occasional deep shot. Especially if we start using more motion in the backfield with in game progressions off the different motion sets.

I officially love this Bailey kid.

Yup...love his mindset and looking forward to what he brings

He was a prospect several teams had on their radar before he became global eligible...may be a major score for us

This is a good one also.

I have friends that play for the B.C. Lions, like four of my teammates,” he explained, “and it’s like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m going to whup them now. First game — I’m going to whup them.’ I’m going to whup them all season. Every time I see them, I’m going to whup them. Just because they’re my friends I’m going to whup them… even harder.”

So according to TSN, who the west favourite this year? They kissing BCs ass still or Edmonton? Cuz you know then it ain’t gonna be them. So Winnipeg Sask or Calgary. Looks like Winnipeg or Sask honestly

With our ongoing GC appearances, it’s anyone but Winnipeg.

They can suck it, we going to the show yet again Mother F’rs.

I think the CFL should have a Canadian kicker program like they do for QB's.

That’s a great idea. Sadly I don’t think they will do it, as they seem content to rely on the global pipeline for that.

Well I suppose some global player besides kickers /punters might be the one that is actually a good player. It's a little like finding quality QB's. More failures than successes. This is the 5th or 6 year of the global program and I can't identify any global player that made a real impact and actually earned an AR spot.  Global players make rosters by mandate not by prowess.

Maybe Bailey is the 1st but that's a TBD. He might beat out a Canadian but does he actually beat out an import if it wasn't a ratio issue. IE: If he had to qualify as an import does he beat out the others?

Sure he's got a good attitude etc etc but he's not the only one.

Seems they've run out of ways to try and bugger us up....What a load of nonsense...like someone said, IF he can't be reached get a hold of Miller, O'Shea or Walters....AND because they didn't this suspension should be null and void....Zack would be the last player in the league trying to avoid testing...   One game suspension.......nonsensical and waaaaay over the top

If any of the Bombers happened to be in most parts of Northern Manitoba say on an ice fishing excursion they'd be screwed because a lot areas are dead zones. I imagine that there are dead zones down south as well, you gotta get someone to monitor your phone on the 1% chance you get a call for testing? Really stupid rule.

The fact that we had him on our neg list before it was discovered he qualified for Global status, shows that they thought highly of him as an import so yeah he could very well beat out other players.

If a player on any neg list was a guarantee of success then sure. We see lots of players on neg lists that become total busts. Don't we think highly of every player we bring to TC?  Why didn't we sign him when he was still considered as an import rather than waiting for him to qualify as a global?

We had players in TC 2024 that were on our neg list and failed to make the roster. Just saying that the PR and highlight reels about every player is always positive.

All the power to him to show he belongs.  The issue is that as an import he has a more difficult time making a roster as either a starter or a DI because of the ratio. As a global player ( we have 4 ) 2 are punters so he only has to beat out 1 player if we choose to roster a 2nd global on the AR.
