Yup. I imagine that kind of stuff went on all the time. Kinda surprised he was arrested for it actually. They must have been staking the place out for that activity.

Just saw this. Man things must be BADDDDDD between the two. I dont think ive even heard of a leader of state getting a divorce while in office before. Three young kids, all still in school too.

I feel awful for both of them, but mostly the kids. Hopefully people respect their privacy and the troll farm that is the CPC doesn't feast on it.

Not much to feast on for any trolls, whatever the party.  This "separation" happened a long time ago, they are finally just making it official.  The timing is a bit odd but I guess she didn't want to wait for another election and wanted out and was tired of pretending.

I do think it's possible this job could have put a strain my mother thought all the traveling he did was a factor, but I said "But he's Prime Minister he's supposed to be at these summits"

She was eventually diagnosed as bipolar. Nowadays I think marriages can survive that but back then she was the crazy wife.

The Cons will revel in this and try to make hat from it. And as an observant Catholic, he cannot really divorce- just separate.

Pierre was 51 and she was 22 when they got married.  That marriage was never going to work long term.

Yes Margaret Trudeau has struggled with mental illness for most of her life.  There just wasn't the help back then that there is now.  She left her husband and three boys behind when she left which must have been hard.  And hard on her children too.
