  • I wouldn't give up on McGuire,   shitty weather + one team playing to get home field while the other team playing back ups and without the foot on the pedal....

  • We now have clarity on what would happen if Zach went down. Most of our starters played this game. Walters dropped the ball leaving the team so liable at such an important position.

  • Cut everyone. Blow it up.

144 yards. You're right he lit it up.

How many passes did McGuire complete compared to Harris?

I won’t pile on a guy for one bad game, but what in McGuire’s entire career gives you any impression he is better than this?

Because it can't be worse. He had some drops early, the int when he threw to the wide side 9ff his back foot got in his head and he started  throwing them into the dirt, then he started forcing things. That's just rookie mistakes. The moment overwhelmed him. I would be money he is much better next time he gets to play.

Montreal wins a game by a TD and FG when they got 6 turnovers while playing for a home playoff game.  Against a team managing their roster like a preseason game

Who should be worried in the big picture?

Yup

Montreal playing all their starters and trying to get home field (won't matter, they're trash).

We couldn't have played worse

If McGuire stayed on the field, we could have- he got worse as the game wore on.

And celebrating like they actually did something impressive. I want these assholes in the Grey Cup.

So ******* dumb.

Any one who thinks eli is slow should probably wear a football helmet at all times.

The ol was hamstrung pretty bad but the biggest problem was lack of continuity. No 1 guy was brutal. We had too many guys in that normally dont play and out of position. Including both tackles.

it rained for maybe 5 minutes. Most of which was at a time we didnt have the ball. The entire 2nd half was dry conditions with a dry ball.

Rain isnt an excuse for poor tosses in an era where the gloves are better than stick em. He made a poor call to not go to a glove.

No it was raining for most of the game. Not pouring. But the amount it poured made everything wet. It wasn't dry out there.

And you could see the ball coming off his hand, it wasn't right.

I agree he made piss poor decisions. I'm simply saying the weather played a role, again not excusing his decisions.

I think it’s a different outcome for McGuire if he had a full starting Oline (same line Zach plays behind) and better weather conditions. He showed some glimmers of hope but has a long way to go by the looks of it. Wouldn’t get too down on him yet.

On the bright side to only lose by 14 with all those turnovers, is a minor miracle.

Totally agree with this. We clearly saw which backup players are capable of playing, and which aren't.

Gotta play Zack in Cal.......at least for a half....McGuire really needs to look at the tape of this game (after he retrieves it from the garbage) and tries to put together a better game......

I'm far more concerned than I was ill say that. But he's all we got now. Hopefully the coaches can help improve his play.

You're right. Lots of completions and no yards is better than barley any completions and almost the same amount of yards....?????

Don't forget Harris was playing with a few 2nd stringers and against a starting Defense at home with lots to play for....oh wait....

Next week will be back to normal. Full game for starters.

“It can’t be worse” and “he is better than this” are not the same thing.

I love this post because it is funny AND more true than some would care to admit.

Richmond at tackle played well early until he got hurt, has some snarl

Yeah he got rolled up on hard there...

If Collaros plays next week and I have my doubts it should a quarter then straight to the locker room

I don’t mind if he plays a full half as long as he has a starting line in front of him. Protect him at all costs!

McGuire is definitely a backup, Augustine should be #2 on depth at RB, Cooper needs walking papers

If he is just as bad next time, then it wasn’t worse, but is definitely not any better.

My question to you though, taking these nit-picky definitions away from the conversation, is what has McGuire shown to suggest that this game was an aberration and there is much more talent there, which is what I assumed your position was? We have seen almost next to nothing of his play, and the first real exposure he got to the game since college  looked piss poor. So where does the confidence in his game come from for you? I want to think he is better too, I just didn’t see a template for success from his play today, and have no other point of reference to offer hope.
