Extra cash?  His deal runs out before the CFL season starts so I assume he's planning on signing with someone up here after that?

I feel like someone did. Just can't remember who? Oh well.  ;)

Honestly really surprised by this move. Seems like an odd choice.

especially given he's getting up there in age!  his game is still there, but if he's going to play most of the XFL season, and then a full CFL season, I would have to expect a tail off in production in the last 1/3 of the season!  If he's going back to Toronto though, they'll be out of the running by then anyways!

Last chance to get noticed south of the border. That's pride ****ing with him.

this is all a return to the Bobby Gordon days....he did this every year.

I don't think he is coming back.

He got a look at what his offers were, and I think at best he is going to be a mid-season/playoff run sign.

But I doubt even that.

Bobby Gordon is much to old to make a come back :)

I'd consider throwing 50k at him to play after Labour Day if it's in the budget.

Based on the roster today, sure.

Yeah, good point - should've noted that. I also agree with you, I don't think he comes back to the CFL.

Yeah, just seems like a lot of football for a guy getting up there.

isn't Bobby Gorgeous on Khari's coaching staff in Montreal?

Yes, he is.

Weekend ratings are in for the start of Vince McMahon's revival of the XFL.

ABC had previously announced 3.3 million viewers for the early afternoon game on Saturday which also had a 2.07 broadcast rating.

Similarly, Fox's Saturday late afternoon game between the Los Angeles Wildcats and Houston Roughnecks averaged 3.29 million viewers and a 1.91 rating.

On Sunday, the early afternoon game on Fox between the Tampa Bay Vipers and New York Guardians averaged 3.385 million viewers and a 2.10 household rating -- the highest rated game of the opening weekend.

Sunday's late afternoon game on ESPN between the St. Louis BattleHawks and Dallas Renegades on ESPN did a very strong 2.495 million viewers and a 1.43 rating, a cable channel with about 30% less total audience reach than the major networks.

The ESPN number was higher than any UFC broadcast has ever done on that network and beat out what most NBA games do in better time slots.

The XFL broadcasts were the top rated sports programming of the weekend with the exception of Sunday's PGA's Pebble Beach Pro-Am. If you average the coverage of both Saturday and Sunday for each sport, the XFL won out.

Who was saying those were terrible numbers? lol

Seriously though, it means nothing until we get into week 3 and beyond.  But if these hold at all long term, Vince is a genius and will get big money.

HoF career ends with a shrug. Tsk.

McGloin is a terrible QB for NY.  Will be interesting to see how fast these teams move on to the next guy at QB.  NY used old Sask QB Marquise Williams on a fake punt earlier.  Also have Luis Perez who I believe was on Argos neg list.

Luis Perez also started in AAF I believe

Most entertaining part of the NY-DC game is getting to hear all the drama on the New York sideline.  Should be putting out a line on who will win the fight between McGloin and the OC.

I just cant imagine the locker room after a coach makes the wrong call/gamble late in the game and loses everyone two grand...
