Decent year for Stastny; 12 G, 40 pts in 63 games.  200+ goals, 600+ pts career.  14 goals, 35 pts in 55 playoff games.   

There's our help down the middle.

well that's the thing, is this a white flag from St. Louis?  After getting pounded by both Winnipeg and Nashville, maybe it is.

This is a great trade.  1st round pick this year is exactly the asset you're looking to give up to make a splash.  Foley is a decent prospect but Jets are pretty stacked at talented wingers.  Great trade. 

Wow, this is a pretty decent move...  Statsny is a playoff scorer - like this way better than any Plekanec deal

You almost get that sense.  They arent far out of it but maybe they feel limping into the Playoffs and losing isnt worth losing Stastny for nothing this summer.  A 1st round pick helps a struggling Blues team
