US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Amazing how brave she is now that she's not Trump mouthpiece. Never forget her complicity in his behaviour.

Ironically she's exactly like Trump. Everything she does with and to others is purely transactional to benefit her and her only.

No doubt she is self-serving but maybe, just maybe, some light is creeping into the GOP that they are beginning to realize that Trump and his sycophants will lead them into obscurity. All journeys begin with a single step.

Nope, just positioning themselves for a run for president. Nimarata will do and say anything for power.

Fani Willis Signals August Georgia Indictment For Trump’s Crew

In a new letter, Fulton County, Georgia DA Fani Willis signaled an August timeline for indictments of Trump’s gang that tried to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hinted that she might seek indictments in early to mid-August in her long-running inquiry of former President Donald Trump and his allies.

The timetable was disclosed in a Thursday letter to Ural Glanville, Fulton Superior Court’s chief judge, and 20 other county officials. Willis listed 10 days between July 31 and August 18 in which she plans to direct a large percentage of her staff to work remotely.

“This remote work will reduce the number of Fulton County District Attorney’s office staff in the Fulton County Courthouse and Government Center by approximately 70%,” Willis noted, adding that only her leadership team, armed investigators and a couple of other teams will be working in the building those days.

The Georgia indictments will come in the same month as the first 2024 Republican primary debate. Donald Trump has already threatened to skip the debate which will be hosted by Fox News in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Just shows how harmful brainwashing children with religious beliefs at a young age can be, many live the rest of their lives as damaged goods handcuffed to past teachings.

It's just another form of generational child abuse.

Carroll takes action over Trump CNN attack — experts say "verdict could be greater than $5 million"

E.Jean Carroll, a longtime columnist who was awarded $5 million in damages after a jury found Donald Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation earlier this month, is taking aim at the former president once more.

Carroll in a Monday filing in Manhattan federal court asked for a "very substantial" additional amount of money from Trump over comments he made during an appearance on CNN only a day after being found liable. The New York Times reported that the filing is part of a separate defamation lawsuit that Carroll filed against Trump in 2019 — Carroll alleged that Trump raped her in a department store dressing room in the late 1990s, subsequently slandering her name by denying the event when she went public.

During his May 10 CNN town hall, Trump doubled down on his long-standing rejection of Carroll's claims, arguing they were "fake" and "made up." The ex-president denied having ever met Carroll — despite a photograph of the two together — and called her a "wack job," while referring to the trial as "a rigged deal."

Carroll responded to Trump's CNN sit-down in an interview with Times, saying, "It's just stupid; it's just disgusting, vile, foul; it wounds people."

The writer's most recent filing asserts that Trump's remarks "show the depth of his malice toward Carroll, since it is hard to imagine defamatory conduct that could possibly be more motivated by hatred, ill will or spite."

"This conduct supports a very substantial punitive damages award in Carroll's favor both to punish Trump, to deter him from engaging in further defamation, and to deter others from doing the same," the filing says.

This sure does have a four year old child vibe to it that represents half of how America think and act.

Ron DeSantis entered the contest for the Republican presidential nomination on Wednesday, setting up several combative months on the campaign trail with former president Donald Trump.

Desantis, 44, filed his declaration of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission ahead of a more unusual launch event planned for later in the day  — with billionaire Elon Musk on Twitter.

Left, right, middle, combo don't matter, an example of what a true non critical thinker (updated label) looks like that got them to this moment of action:

Trump Staffers Moved Boxes of Docs a Day Before FBI Raid: Report

Two of Donald Trump’s employees allegedly moved boxes of papers just a day before the FBI descended on Mar-a-Lago to retrieve classified documents, The Washington Post reports. The paper cites unnamed sources as saying Trump and his aides even carried out a “dress rehearsal” for moving sensitive documents well before receiving a May 2022 subpoena from the Justice Department. If true, the details would strengthen investigators’ case against Trump for potential obstruction of justice and could shed light on his intent in taking the documents with him once he left the White House.

Q: Okay, now we're cooking. Now what?

A: Nothing.

If they don't indict Trump for stealing classified documents then they might as well let him become President for life and let America burn. Oh and a lot of his enemies will be arrested, Ukraine will fall and the probability of a civil war will be greatly upped.

Probably thinks it refers to a plan for interior design theme.
