US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Americans (or at least the pro gun nuts) are so self absorbed.  If the idea that unarmed people are easy pickings then in nations with gun control, there should be tons of murders.  There isnt.  They need to wake up.

Given decades of right wing commentators telling them..... that they are under threat from immigrants, migrants, people of other colored skins, big government, anti-abortion supporters and leftist mobs......

Makes sense.  Even if the DOJ won’t put a sitting president on trial, why can’t he be indicted?  Then the congress can decide what they want to do and the day he leaves office he can be arrested by the fbi. He’s clearly indictable.

She's a stupid Harvard grad.

Oh, and she isn't white, so obviously, Trump attacks her.

Interesting how the gender and ethnicity of his targets often comes into play.... But I bet if we looked really hard we can find an example of Obama being terse with someone. lol

Here’s an image that does him no favours. Too bad it won’t matter to so many

Hahaha even fox thinks he’s an idiot

She's 85, call it a career already Ruth, sheesh.

Gee how did I know you'd say that.  (And an ageist remark at that).  Most people want an unbiased, non-partisan supreme court that upholds the constitution and the rights and freedoms of the citizenry.  The alt right wants an alt right supreme court that upholds the white nationalist agenda and co-opts the constitution for their cause.  sheesh

I have a feeling that if you and your kind want RBG's seat, you're going to have to pry it from her cold dead hands.

rump’s involvement in the payments, by itself, wouldn’t mean he is guilty of federal crimes, Richard Hasen, a law professor at the University of California, Irvine, who specializes in election law, told the paper.

A criminal conviction would require proof that Trump willfully ignored legal bans on contributions from companies or individuals larger than $2,700, he said.

This is a dead end.

Where and when did I say that?  (And how is that relevant to what I posted?)

Blame the 90's, not the NRA.  What a joke.  Russian backed lobby group that has the GOP in their back pockets.

Care to elaborate on the meaning of that statement, probably best to just let sleeping dogs lie.

Apparently there were a number of people at the Thousand Oaks bar who had survived the Las Vegas shooting. Here is video of the mother of one of those survivors whose son was killed at the bar.

It isn't. It's all he's got left in his troll repertoire, though.

Toughest gun laws in the USA, not much more you can do expect keep the guns out of the hands of the insane, but I suppose that would be considered discrimination in Cali.

Which would you prefer, that I elaborate or "let sleeping dogs lie" (which is an odd term to describe yourself if I read it correctly).  I think you know exactly what I meant. lol

Lindsay Graham arse licker du jour flips so many times he doesn't know what planet he's on, as for Whitaker this "run around" that got him the temp AG job will just lead to more obstruction charges, Trump apart from be a disgusting human. is also not as smart as the hamster in his brain telling him he is.

Im glad you found one line out of a very lengthy story to cling to in defense of Trump.  Here's a serious question, why do you embrace him so strongly?

One of the things wrong with American politics.  Fox even had a whole panel snickering about it.   They can’t believe a regular person won and can’t afford to move to Washington   They expect politicians to all be rich

She graduated University  just 7 years ago.  Her dad died.  Her mom cleans homes.  She worked as a bartender and waitress.  She wins an election thats supposed to be about representing the people and she's made fun of because she cant afford to live in Washington while NOT collecting a paycheque.

It doesnt matter what side you're on, more average people should be encouraged to run and not shamed for lacking the resources of wealthy career politicians.
